Well guys I'm back and I'm sorry it took so long. Life is crazy but I'm graduating college and before I head off to law school I'm promising you I will finish this story. It won't take a year and half between chapters this time and to reward you guys for your patience I've added in some big surprises to say the least. Enjoy and of course I own nothing
Chapter ten
Silence. Complete and utter silence. Raven felt a complete rush of heat fill her face as she stood there in a stunned state. Her brain could not comprehend what she was looking at. "No, that couldn't have just happened." She thought to herself as she was broken out of her trance by Starfire.
"Raven we must act quickly!" Raven shook her head to the sound of Starfire screaming in her face. Looking outward towards the street Robin, Cyborg, Speedy and Mas y Menos sprang into action to check on Beast Boy. Bumble Bee and Aqua lad immediately grabbed the mayor and dragged her back into the building for her safety. Starfire was still trying to shake Raven out of her catatonic state while the aforementioned heroes converged on Beast Boy. He was laying there motionless, blood running around his body. Cyborg configured his arm to begin running vitals. Down on knee he began to check on his fallen friend.
"Beast boy stay with me I'm here its me Vic come on buddy" amidst the panic Robin began to survey the area. He noticed the truck the struck Beast Boy was doubling back, making a sharp U turn and headed straight back towards the huddled heroes.
"MOVE" Robin screamed. Speedy jumped up drawing out his bow screaming out. "I got it". He pulled back his hand to release a fire bow aimed straight at the truck's windshield. The arrow pierces the glass causing the truck to fishtail out. Mas y Menos, realizing the direction where the truck is going quickly unified and began to move people out of the way of the trucks landing crash zone.
While this is going on, Bumblebee and Aqualad quickly moved the mayor into the building to escort her to her safe shelter. As they moved throughout the building they could hear the commotion of what was going on outside. Garth looked back quickly.
"Sounds like more than just BB getting hit by a truck"
Bee quickly nodded her head "Yeah I got this get back out there".
"You sure?" Bee pointed quickly.
"Yeah once I get her inside I'll be right back out just hurry up." Aqualad quickly about faced towards the front door. Bumblebe pushed the mayor's office door opened and barked. "Get to where you need to be" The mayor out of pure fear ran into the office and ran behind her desk. BumbleeBee slammed the door shut and pulled out her prongs and shrank down to make quicker time, mentally preparing herself for battle.
Inside the office the two mayors looked at each other. The mayor of jump city, crouched underneath her desk watched as the mayor of steel city walked up to her phone and began to dial.
"Who could you possibly be calling? Off of my phone no less" The mayor of steel city looked down at the mayor of jump and smiled a wide, evil grin. Terror grew over the mayor of Jump cities face as the mayor of Steel City began to transform into a completely different being. This shocking site made Jump Cities mayor pass out beneath her desk. This being stood back up and spoke softly into the phone.
"It's done, pull back" from the other side of the phone came a very simple
"acknowledged" The being hung up the phone and vanished into thin air out of the room.
Back outside Aqua lad burst through the front door of the city hall building to see the chaos that was. He immediately saw Raven face down on the ground with Starfire at her side trying to comfort her. Further along he saw Speedy mid-flight to release his shot into the truck. His intimal reaction was to see if Raven was hurt since it was only Starfire there assisting her. Bolting over to her is where he could slightly see Beast Boys motionless body with Robin and Cyborg working on him "oh fuck this is out of hand" he thought to himself as the truck crash landed in the area where Mas y Menos cleared the people.
He approached Raven and Starfire quickly he dropped down next to them.
"Raven get up now!" he heard Raven let a huge scream that thrust him and Starfire back into opposite directions. Starfire recovered midair to avoid crashing into a parked fire truck. Aqualad crash landed into the spectator area where a fence then collapsed on him pinning his legs. Starfire seeing this tried to fly over to him but was taken out of the air and knocked back into the original direction of which she came by another Raven scream.
"Oh GAR" She wailed, causing beams of black energy to fly through the air with each one. Robin noticing this street side decided to take action. Speedy just landing from his shot and seeing the truck crash was knocked into Robin by one of Ravens energy screams causing a tumble affect into Cyborg and Beastboy. Cyborg began to panic after getting a poor reading from Beast Boys initial Vidal scan.
"Robin we need to get him out of here NOW!"
"Heard, Speedy you come with me to stabilize Raven and check on the others"
"Got it" Speedy snapped back as he ran towards Raven who had continued her sobbing.
Robin pointed at the Two twins "You two grab Beastboy carefully and transport him back to the tower, Cyborg follow behind in flight mode, I need him in the tower infermey doing everything you can."
"Si amigo" Mas y Menos quickly slumped the seemingly structure less Beast boy and took off. Cyborg began to convert himself into flight mode "What are you going to do?"
Robin made a bee line towards Raven "Get her settled down and go see who the fuck did this" Cyborg quickly flew off as Robin hauled ass up to Raven. He threw a sleep bomb at Raven's face to knock her out because he knew that a fight could be happening with the driver of the truck. Speedy had already been sent flying to where Aqualad had landed so there was no time. Raven slowly began to fade into unconsciousness and with that barricades came crashing down to the ground. Everyone slowly began to converge on Robin where he gave the next order.
"Guys eyes on the truck" The teamed moved cautiously to the truck where Starfire was the first to make contact. BumbleeBee remerged outside and saw Raven unconscious on the ground. She ran over to her and picked her up. She began to carry her down to the street where she made visible contact with the team approaching the truck. She called out to try and get their attention but to no avail.
Starfire cautiously removed the door off the hinges to find a destroyed android behind the wheel.
"um friends" The group observed in confusion as the android began to deconstruct and fall out of the door.
"What the hell?" Speedy asked aloud.
"No time we need to collect everyone and get back to help Beast Boy; Speedy you grab a piece of tech for sampling later, Aqualad you hang back here and handle damage control Star you're with me to help Bee get Raven back to the tower" The team sprang to their respected assignments as the incident began to slow down.
Mas y Menos reached the tower quickly and began to assemble Beastboys medical care properly. They cleared a table in the infirmary and began to set up an IV. A short while after, Cyborg came busting through the door running more scans on his fallen friend. "No No No" He muttered to himself as Mas y Menos watched helplessly.
Cyborg transformed every part of his body into some sort of medical tool to try and stop the bleeding. Beastboys rib cage had collapsed into lungs causing blood to gather inside. A compound fracture of his leg had caused most of the external bleeding but with every passing second, Cyborg was running out of time and had to think fact. The only thing he could think was to try to trigger Beast Boys shape shifting ability for him to shift his body feature to remove the bone damage but had no way to do it because of his unconsciousness. Cyborg realized he had to hold out hope until Raven was there to try and heal him because every other option had run thin.
Back at the scene Speedy had gathered a sample of the android that was driving the truck. He never recognized the tech before and noticed that the truck did not have a steering wheel. Once the collection was made he made a brief radio transmission to Aqualad to meet up outside the building. No response was made. Speedy took it upon himself to enter the building and look for the mayors office. His search was short as he entered the office to Aqualad hunched over behind the desk.
"Dude what is it?" Aqualad stood up.
"Its Jumps mayor, shes knocked out but okay I'm waking her up."
"Where's our mayor?"
Aqualad shrugged as Jumps mayor began to come to.
"Mam are you okay?" She nodded and whispered
"He transformed and vanished" Aqualad and Speedy shared a concerned look
"What could that mean?" Aqualad asked
"I don't know but we need to find out very soon, we need to head back to the tower."
"Agreed" Aqualad assisted the mayor to a seat before he and Speedy took off out of the room. While the mayor sat there by herself the shapeshifter reappeared.
"You did a very nice job Mayor." The shapeshifter took her original form and revealed herself as one of the three people sworn to avenge Brother Bloods Death none other than Martian Manhunters own niece, Miss Martian.
Robin burst through the door with Starfire behind him helping Bee carry Raven. They laid Raven on the table next to Beast Boy. Robin quickly walked over to see the status of his friend.
"Not good buys I'm losing him his blood his getting thin and it won't stop Raven I nee-" Robin cut him off
"Raven is knocked out we are without her help." Cyborg screamed in frustration as he worked furiously to stop his bleeding. "WHY IS BLOOD ACTING LIKE THIS"
Raven had regained control of her mind even though she was unconscious "What happened? Gar? Where are you?" She searched her mind frantically for what happened and replayed the crash in her head. She could not believe she couldn't see it coming. How could she have been so short sighted, so stupid to not stop it. In the midst of beating herself up, she heard a calm voice call her name.
"Raven" She immediately recognized it as that of her boyfriends.
"Gar where are you what happened?"
Beastboys voice called out calmly "Raven I'm sorry I love you"
Raven, realizing what happened began to scream out "GAR NO WHATS HAPPENING NO"
Outside of Ravens mind Cyborg knew he was down to the final seconds he heard the final beeps of his best friend's heart as expired in front of his eyes. Just at this moment Raven woke up from her sleep in a scream.
Beastboy had taken his final breath. Raven jumped from the table to next to his body and began hysterically crying
"GAR NO WAKE UP PLEASE"
Cyborg approached her slowly and placed a hand on her shoulder "Raven I'm sorry he's gone" When Raven heard those words, all of the lights in the tower went out and she felt nothing but the tears running down her face
