Vulcan groans as he awakens, head feeling like it was split open by something. "Okay, did somebody get the number of that train?" He groans as he tries to sit up.
"Hardly." A tired voice said next to him and he looks over to see Melinda resting on a table.
Vulcan groans as he sits on the side of the bed. "Hey, what happened?"
"Dementors. I can just imagine the howlers that both the American and Japan wizard governments will send." Melinda says.
"Let me guess, Fudge already trying to figure out a way get out of the situation?" Vulcan asks.
Melinda nods. "Yes, trying to appeal to them by offering some things. Bribery." She sang.
"So that is his plan. How are the others?" Vulcan asks.
"Black is imprisoned waiting for the Dementors and Snape is knocked out in Flitwick's office being examined in case Lupin infected him." Melinda explained.
Vulcan sighs. "Hermione and the others?"
"Oh your girlfriend is over there." Melinda says snickering.
Vulcan frowns at her before sighing and getting up. "Ow." He said shaking his leg and walking over to where Hermione was looking over Harry as Ron had his leg in a cast. "Hey Hermione. Anyone up yet?"
"Yeah." Hermione says leaning up.
Vulcan smiles a bit. "I meant these two."
"Harry and Ron is still out of it." Hermione says.
Vulcan sighs. "How are you feeling?"
"Alright." Hermione says eating some chocolate.
Vulcan raises an eyebrow. "Got anymore?"
"The nurse will be back with more soon." Hermione says.
Vulcan sighs and sits on another bed nearby. "Well, what are we going to do now? We are back where we are before we even began."
"We are aware of that." Harry says raising up as Dumbledore enters and after a bit of talking, tells them that Fudge has sent for the Dementors.
Vulcan groans. "All that hard work and for what?"
"But he is innocent. Just ask Professor Snape or Lupin." Hermione says.
"Professor Lupin is currently in the forest and Snape is still unconscious." Dumbledore says.
Vulcan shakes his head. "Yep, we are out of the game."
"There must be something we can do." Harry says.
"It seems what you need is more time." Dumbledore says as if referring to something.
Hermione blinks and tries to think on that. Vulcan raises an eyebrow at he said. "Yeah, right. More time to mope."
"I am going to lock the door. It is three minutes to midnight." Dumbledore says.
Vulcan stops and looks outside. "You have got to be kidding me. That long?"
"Three turns Ms. Granger and you may save two lives." Dumbledore says before leaving and closing the door and Hermione gets up immediately.
Vulcan scratches his head. "What did he mean by that?"
"Harry, get over here." Hermione says.
Vulcan rolls his eyes. "I don't even know what's going on anymore." He said looking to Melinda just snoring annoyingly again. "Can you stop that?" He complains before Hermione grabs him and pulls him to where they were standing.
Hermione wraps a chain around him and Harry as well before spinning the hourglass on her necklace three times as Harry tries to take a grab at the hourglass before Hermione slaps his hand away.
"Um…care to explain?" Vulcan asks.
"It's a time turner." Hermione says setting off warning bells in his head before the time turner started to work.
They all see the hourglass spin wildly as they look around them and see themselves come in before walking backwards so fast as everything was a blur and many others coming in and out as it seems to pass the days and nights before finally stopping on an empty sunny room.
"Quickly." Hermione says pushing them into a nearby broom closet.
"Please explain." Vulcan practically begs.
"Ok. Dumbledore said we needed more time. He meant travel back into time to alter events. So I used my time turner I got from professor Mcgonagall at the start of the school year." Hermione says.
"Wait, then I did see two of you in the library that day I leant you emotional support." Vulcan says.
Hermione facepalms. "Dang it. Should have been more careful."
"I'm sorry, what?" Harry asks.
Vulcan crosses his arms. "How many times did you go back in time?"
"To be honest, I lost count, but that is not the subject. I think I hear us." Hermione says hearing Vulcan call out to their group.
"Us?" Vulcan asks before hearing himself and some other voices.
"We came back in time remember? As such, that is ourselves going out to the courtyard to see Hagrid. Remember what Dumbledore said, two innocent lives might be spared?" Hermione asks.
"He meant Buckbeak." Harry says.
Vulcan sighs. "I'm guessing the second is Black."
"Yes. I think we are gone come on." Hermione whispers.
They all start to follow her as they head down the corridors to the courtyard. "So how are we going to do this?" Vulcan asks before they stop at the end of the bridge as they see Vulcan correcting Hermione's stance.
The next moment, they saw Hermione punch Malfoy. "Oh it is so better the second time." Vulcan says as they slip out of the window of the bridge before the three slytherins ran past.
"That felt good." They heard the past Hermione.
"Ok, let's follow." Vulcan says as the other versions of themselves left.
They all proceeded to follow as they ran near the forest's edge as they see themselves head inside. "So Buckbeak needs to leave. Now how are we…?" Vulcan stops as he sees Melinda on Buckbeak's head. "Problem."
"We have to wait for the Ministry to see Buckbeak first." Hermione adds.
Vulcan sighs in relief as they end up behind the pumpkin wall as they see themselves in the hut. "Well how long did it take for us?" Harry asks.
"Not long, look." Hermione says pointing out the coming group.
"Why aren't we leaving?" Harry asks as Hermione notices a familiar object before throwing it and a shatter was heard before throwing another.
"Ow." The past Harry said as he grabs his head.
"Ow." Harry said holding his head.
"Sorry." Hermione says.
Vulcan hums. "Maybe we shouldn't let our past selves be killed."
"Come on, hide in the trees." Hermione whispers harshly.
Both Harry and Vulcan looked confused before seeing themselves come out of the hut their way. "Time to go." Vulcan said going where Hermione said.
The three of them hid themselves in the foliage. Vulcan, choosing a large rock, while Harry and Hermione hid behind trees.
Vulcan sighs as he rests behind the rock and looks slightly over it. "Is that what the back of my head look like?" Hermione asks peeking out slightly.
None of them said anything as they ducked behind their hiding places again as they see themselves look in their direction and waits till the group goes hiding under the invisibility cloak.
"Okay." Hermione said after she sees themselves go far enough away. "Wait, is Melinda still there?" She asks seeing her still resting on Buckbeak's head.
Vulcan frowns. "I got her. Harry, Buckbeak." He said coming out of his hiding place.
The three went back up to the pumpkin wall and waited till the new ministry group went inside before going and unchaining Buckbeak
"Vulcan?" Melinda asks picking her head and looks to where the past selves went before looking to the new Vulcan confused.
Vulcan smiles as he holds a finger to his lips and smirks. "Just go to me and where I went. Don't tell anyone about this." He said winking as he helps unhooking the chain as Harry lead Buckbeak away.
Melinda blinks before flying away to where they went as Buckbeak keeps nipping at the ferrets. "Poor sod loves dead rats." Vulcan said looking behind him to make sure anyone noticed and snickers as they all look confused.
"Here you go Buckbeak." Harry says luring him further into the forest with more of the ferrets.
Hermione sighs as she shakes her head and they all watch the ministry confused by the absence of Buckbeak.
Vulcan chuckles. "Oh man. It's a good day to see them all confused and wandering around."
Hermione and Harry then watch and see the executioner use his axe on a pumpkin.
The four then move along, Vulcan petting Buckbeak as they went. "So boy, how was Melinda's time with you?" He asks trying to make some noise in the quiet forest.
"I think Buckbeak likes him." Harry says.
Hermione smiles. "I think it's just cause Melinda told him to like him."
"Who is a good proud hippogriff?" Vulcan asks scratching him.
Buckbeak barks as he nuzzles his hand.
"Maybe something a bit more." Hermione says.
Harry shakes his head as Buckbeak tries to nip at Vulcan. They all get in view of the whomping willow and start to wait.
"So how long will this take?" Vulcan asks keeping Buckbeak company.
"A few hours." Hermione says as Buckbeak starts eating nearby bats.
Vulcan leans back a little as Buckbeak eat away and holds out a bat to him. "Nah, you can have it." Buckbeak takes the bat happily as they wait.
After seeing themselves come out, they move to get a better view. Hermione, when seeing Lupin about to attack Harry, makes a wolf howl.
"Oh, no. He is coming at us now." Vulcan says catching up. He grabs them both and pulls them away as Lupin comes after them. "You got any ideas?" He asks trying to keep them upright.
"Um…no, didn't think this far ahead." Hermione says.
"Beakie!" Vulcan calls.
"Beakie?!" They both ask before Lupin caught up to them and stops them.
Just as Lupin had them cornered, Buckbeak swoops in between them and rears up.
Hermione and Harry stops and blinks. "You named him Beakie?" Hermione asks.
"It's Hagrid's nickname for him." Vulcan says.
Harry becomes confused. "When did you hear that?"
"He called him that several times during visits and once in class." Vulcan says before they see Dementors overhead.
Vulcan blinks and shakes his head. "I think it's the lake time." He said before heading toward the lake.
"Yes and any minute my dad will reappear." Harry says following him with Hermione just behind.
Vulcan looks confused. "Isn't your dad dead?" He asks before seeing the lake edge and sees they came out of the other side.
Harry has them wait for a good long while watching for his dad to appear. "Harry, your dad is dead and he isn't coming." Vulcan finally said after seeing them start to fall.
Harry didn't say anything as he watched the dementors move in.
Hermione frowns. "Harry, he is not coming. You father is not coming in because there is no one."
Harry says nothing and walks forward unsheathing his wand and cries out. "Exopecto Patronum!"
Vulcan smiles as he finally realized what happened back then. "Well, that's our saving grace." He said as a bubble of magic grew out and hits some Dementors and makes them fly off while more of the bubbles flies out and hits some more. Sending the many Dementors away as a white stag appears and stops before Harry. "Well that's funny. Never knew he was a deer person." Vulcan said as he and Hermione watched the whole thing.
"It's a stag." Hermione corrects.
Vulcan looks to her. "Deer family."
"You and me are going to start studying different animal species together." Hermione says.
Vulcan raises an eyebrow. "You do realize it's the end of the year, right?"
"I know. Still next year though." Hermione says.
Vulcan smiles. "I'll be waiting with all the animal books for you."
"Now help him." Hermione says.
"Very well." Vulcan says withdrawing his wand and concentrating hard. "Exopecto Patronum!" He yells and out of his wand, a silver orb comes out with a falcon transforming from the orb.
The falcon flew around, attacking the dementors and making them flee faster before returning to him and eyes Hermione.
Hermione backs off a bit. "Um…why is it looking at me?"
Vulcan smiles. "No special reason." Vulcan says as it disappears.
Hermione raises an eyebrow. "Uh huh."
"We best go. I hear others approaching." Harry says.
Vulcan huffs. "Took the rescue squad long enough." He said before running off.
"Ok, now the Professor Flitwick's office." Vulcan says to them getting onto Buckbeak.
Harry looks confused. "What about Sirius?"
"Professor Snape is an eye witness and knows exactly where Peter is. He is the one that can provide the ministry with the evidence needed to clear your godfather's name." Vulcan reminds.
Harry tries to hand into Buckbeak. "Are you sure they won't go after Sirius when we tell them?"
"When faced with such evidence, they can't and not to mention they want to keep the dementors trying to give a foreign exchange student their kiss. I talk and they will experience quite a bit of hostility on diplomatic channels and it makes them all look bad globally I think." Vulcan says.
Hermione smirks. "Are you threatening the ministry?"
"I might be." Vulcan says.
Hermione shakes her head. "You are crazy."
"You know Melinda says that a lot." Vulcan says sounding more curious than insulted.
Hermione raises an eyebrow. "Have you heard her rants?"
"She rants?" Vulcan asks as they get to the window.
Hermione sighs. "To herself. We just listen to her ramblings of the muggle world." She said unlocking the window.
"She doesn't do that when I am around." Vulcan says jumping through the open window.
Hermione grins as she follows him. "That's because she talks to herself and doesn't want you to think she's crazy."
"Here he is. You want to smack him?" Vulcan asks seeing Snape knocked out on the couch of the office.
Hermione huffs. "Do it. We know you want to."
"Not really, I mean he has taught me a lot…why do you think he is so hard on Harry?" Vulcan asks suddenly out of the blue.
Hermione stops and thinks on that. "I have no idea. Maybe…I got nothing."
"Something to think on." Vulcan says pointing his wand at Snape. "Aqua Eructo." Vulcan says before his wand shot a small jet of water.
Snape sputters as he shot up awake and shakes the water out of his face as Hermione tries to hide a smile. "What is the meaning of this?" Snape asks before looking up and sees them. "Oh, you two. Where's Potter and the Weasley boy?"
"You want the short version or the long complicated one?" Vulcan asks.
Snape groans as he keeps wiping off the water. "Do I look the type to be enjoying a long boring story?"
"Right, well, we used a time turner to travel back in time to save Black. You hit your head on the tree when you were thrown trying to restrain Lupin, knocking you out and they have no idea Black is innocent so time to go play the hero Professor." Vulcan says.
Snape stares at him for a long time as Vulcan seems to take a watch out of his pocket and taps on the glass. "Do you have any assurance this will work?"
"You know exactly where Peter is, correct?" Vulcan says.
Snape shakes his head lightly. "I may regret this." He said before getting up and leaving while still trying to clean the water off of him. "And find a better spell to wake someone up." He calls out.
"It was all I could think of professor, other than smacking you awake and I thought you would prefer this way." Vulcan says before using a spell that instantly dried him.
"I prefer being clean after being woken up." He said walking out of the door and closing it behind him.
"Act one success. Now let's go intercept those dementors the best way I can think of." Vulcan says with a smirk.
Not five minutes later, the three were standing in front of the two Enteis and Vulcan pets their heads. "Hey there you two. How are you doing? They treating you well?" Vulcan asks.
One of them gives a deadpan stare at him.
"You two want to have some fun?" Vulcan asks.
They both look at him quickly and their flames increases in foreocicity.
"Ok then, attack the dementors and keep them away from the castle. You get to play like that till the clock strikes twelve on the school and you hear all twelve chimes from the bell. Until then, you're off your leashes." Vulcan says.
They both whine as Vulcan releases them and they run off with making small fire trails in their wake. "You sure that was a good idea?" Hermione asks.
"For the dementors, no it wasn't. Entei are one of the few creatures that can naturally hurt them. Not sure about killing, but dementors are not use to pain like that." Vulcan says.
Hermione shakes her head with a bemused smile. "You are evil."
"Is it evil to hurt evil creatures or does that make me good?" Vulcan asks.
Hermione smiles. "Depends on who you are asking."
"Yeah, let us go back before eleven fifty-seven." Vulcan says.
Hermione nods before running back to the infirmary and waits outside for a bit. "So how long will we wait?" Harry asks looking at the clock at the end of the hall.
They then see Dumbledore open the door as he comes out before closing it after talking inside.
"Dumbledore, we did it." Hermione said smiling.
"That is good news, now get in before I lock the door." Dumbledore says.
They all smile as they head inside and sees themselves using the time turner and then disappearing. "How did you…you were there…and now you're there?" Ron asks confused and surprised from the bed as he sees the current group at the door.
"I'll let you field this. I am going to sleep." Vulcan says.
Hermione and Harry smile as Ron remained confused. "We got a big story to tell." Harry said.
Vulcan sighs as he settles down on the bed and looks over to Melinda smirking from the bedside table. "You know it." He said before closing his eyes.
