Christine paced back and forth in her room. The day before, she had told Michael she was pregnant. Today they were going to tell their parents. They had already planned a dinner, so getting everyone together would not be a problem. But she didn't know what she would say. She finally decided to just wing it like she had with Michael. It had worked out well.
The Hodgins were coming over at 6, and it was 5:30. In the morning she had just texted Michael and tried to avoid her family so she wouldn't blurt anything out. But now, the time was inching closer and everyone would know soon.
What would her dad say? He was the biggest concern. Booth had always been extra overprotective of Christine. She just hoped that he wouldn't hurt Michael.
Why did her parents have to have so much faith in her and why were they so strict? Angela and Hodgins were so much easier on Michael, so neither of the teens were very worried about their reactions. Christine knew that on top of being mad, her parents were going to be extremely disappointed in her, and that's what hurt the most.
Soon, it was 5:50 and the doorbell rung. Holly opened the door and in came...
Parker.
"Parker! I forgot that you were coming today too!" Christine says. Shit, she thinks, he's just as overprotective as Dad. This is not looking good for me... Or Michael.
"How could you forget about me and Lily?" He said, fake hurt. He then gave his little sister a hug and went inside to say hi to his dad and step-mom.
"Hi Lily." Christine says and gave her a hug.
"Hey." She hugged back and whispered to Christine "Are you and Michael telling them today?"
"Yea. I'm so nervous." Christine whispered back.
"It'll be okay. If you need anything, I'm here." Lily comforted.
"Thanks." Christine said and pulled away from the hug.
Just as she's about to close the door, she saw Michael run up the steps. She broke into a smile. She couldn't believe that he could make her smile even when she was so nervous.
"Hey." He said, giving her a kiss. "I'm really nervous."
"I know. Me too." She replied.
"Hey Christine!" Angela said, now that she had caught up with her son. Soon the rest of the family said hi and came inside. Michael and Christine just awkwardly stood to the side, suddenly not really knowing what to do.
Then they all sat down and ate, talking and joking with each other. Michael and Christine only talked when someone asked them a question, but everyone was too deep into their conversations to notice.
All too quickly the meal was over and the adults (Parker, Lily, Booth, Brennan, Angela, and Hodgins) went to the living room to talk like they always do. Holly, Max, Will, Kathy, and Annie went upstairs to play. Michael and Christine knew that this was when they had to tell them.
Once they saw that everyone was sitting calmly, the teens walked into the room, holding hands.
Booth and Brennan were sitting on one end of the couch, Angela and Hodgins on the other. Parker was sitting in an armchair, with Lily practically on his lap.
"Hey, kids. Do you need anything?" Booth asked.
"Um... Yea." Michael said awkwardly.
"We... Kinda... Wanted to talk to you guys." Christine said quietly, looking down.
"Okay. What's wrong sweetie?" Angela asked.
"Um... So..." Christine started.
"We know that you guys are gonna be really disappointed and mad, but please don't freak out too much." Michael said. By this point, they were all paying close attention.
"Specifically Dad and Parker. Don't do anything too crazy." Christine continued.
"Christine... What's wrong?" Booth asked his daughter, worried.
"Well... Um... We... Kinda..." Michael started.
Christine took a deep breath and prepared for what was gonna happen next.
"I'm pregnant." She said. As she spit the words out, tears instantly rushed down her face. She felt Michael's comforting arms around her, embracing her closely. She heard Angela gasp in the distance.
"YOU'RE WHAT!?" Booth and Parker simultaneously yelled across the room and Booth jumped up. Other than that and Christine's sobs, the room was silent.
"I'm sorry daddy." She said between her tears, not knowing what else to do or say.
"MICHAEL STACCATO VINCENT HODGINS!" Hodgins yelled.
"YOU HAD SEX WITH CHRISTINE!" Angela yelled at her son.
"Um..." He started but was cut off by Parker.
"You had sex with my little sister! What the hell is wrong with you!" He yelled.
"I warned you not to hurt her or touch her! I told you I trusted you to not hurt her!" Booth yelled at Michael.
"STOP YELLING AT MICHAEL! ITS MY FAULT JUST AS EQUALY AS HIS, SO STOP ACTING LIKE ITS ALL HIM!" Christine yelled at her father and brother. "I love him and he is gonna help me through this so just blaming him!" She hated the way they victimized him.
"When was it?" Brennan said, cutting to the facts, logically.
"What does it matter!? Our baby girl is going to have a baby! That's what matters right now!" Booth exclaimed to his wife.
"It matters because that way we can find her due date and how far along she is. I'll make her first appointment for tomorrow. I'll have to take her out of school." Brennan said, almost calmly, and got her phone out.
"I can take her. I have my appointment too, actually. I can book the appointment with my doctor so it'll be easier." Lily said, who had been quiet all the while.
"How are you two so calm about this!?" Parker asked.
"I don't see a reason to get all riled up! Yes I am extremely disappointed in both of them, but there is no need to yell. It'll only put unneeded stress on Christine, which would only hurt the baby. We need to accept what happened and more on." Brennan said, becoming the logical person she was.
"You're right Bren. We need to calm down and help Christine out." Angela says to her best friend then turned to her "niece". "You know that we will always be here for you sweetie." She got up and gave Christine a hug.
They all turned to Lily. "What about you?" Parker asked.
"I already knew." Lily said.
"Lily bought me the pregnancy test when I realized my period was late. She, actually, made me realize that my period was late, when I told her Michael and I had sex. She got mad and was telling me how irresponsible it was and what the consequences could've been." Christine explained.
"And you didn't tell me?" Parker asked his wife.
"It was not my secret to share. Plus, I knew you were gonna flip out." Lily said. "Now excuse me, I'm gonna go make that appointment."
"Okay, so how is this gonna work. You're keeping the baby right?" Hodgins asked once she left.
"Of course!" Michael and Christine said at the same time.
"So, how do you plan to take care of it? Babies are no easy deal." Angela asked.
"We were hoping you could help us with that. We have no idea what to do. But we wanna keep it and raise it together." Michael said.
"Okay. Well we can help you with the money. It would be nice of you to get a job though, Michael." Brennan stated.
"I'll do anything I can to help out." He said.
Lily walked back in the room. "Okay, so I will pick up Lily at school tomorrow at noon. We can go get something to eat, then go to your appointment."
"Perfect." Angela said. "I'm actually really excited now! I'm gonna be a grandmother! And it'll be adorable, and I'll spoil the baby so much, oh and if it's a girl I can buy her dresses and shoes!"
"And this baby will only be a few months younger and than it's cousin!" Parker said.
"Yep. Me and Christine are pregnant at the same time!" Lily said.
Booth sat silently. He did not like this. She wasn't even 15 yet! She was still his little girl! And now she was gonna have a baby of her own. He sat there thinking about it with a stern face on.
"Booth, come on. Accept what is happening and move on." Brennan said.
Booth motioned for Christine to come to where he was sitting. She slowly walked over as Booth got up and gave her a huge hug.
"I love you, Princess. Whatever decisions you make, I will support them." He said. He could feel her tears in his shoulder. "I'm really disappointed in you, but I love you, and I will love my grandchild."
"Thanks daddy. I love you too." She says. And for the first time in that day, she smiled.
