Bonding with Originals requires Bats and Dogs

"It's not that hard, just swing the bat when the ball comes. If you want I can throw it so you don't have to act as if it's a death machine." Jeremy was telling Kira as he tried not to laugh at his friend's reaction towards the pitching machine. "I'm not acting, that is a death machine and why can't you do this with Kol? He obviously likes baseball and is better at it than I am" she lied, any vampire could be good at any sport unless they weren't trying.

"That is exactly why" he replied with a teasing smile as he played with the baseball in his hand. "Well that's not nice." she pouted as she replied to the human boy before crossing her arms in front of her chest and ignoring him like a little girl that didn't receive the toy she wanted. In her family, she was the one to stay quiet then take revenge while with Kol, he would throw a tantrum and kills the person at the instant or makes a spectacle before the kill, it depended on his mood. Theatrics were a common element when it came to the Mikaelson family.

"So, I was talking to Grace and Lawrence the other day and I have no idea how, but they told me I could finally get a dog" he told her rather excited as he turned in the batting cage keys along with all the equipment they had rented.

"That's wonderful considering how much you wanted one. Maybe they heard you" she knew the reason why those two said yes to the simple request, compulsion, hers to be precise. Jeremy kept talking about wanting a dog over and over to the point that it began to irritate her, which she decided to get those two off the small quantity of vervain they had, just to obtain that simple wish as if nothing happened.

"Anyway, I was planning on stopping by the house to get some money before going to the shelter and I was wondering if you could go with me since I suck at choosing." as he asked her she noticed he was blushing, but wasn't too sure.

"I'd love too" with a smile she agreed. According to what her family told her the boy is horrible at making decisions, especially when it came to whom he wanted to be with: his ex-girlfriend was a ghost or his girlfriend, a witch, but clearly now they weren't anything because he chose wrong and the witch left him, a Bennett one. "Thankfully not a Claire one. All the drama that comes with those." she though before he snapped her out of the thought.

"Alright, let's get going" the teenager smiled. The two got in his car and left the batting cages.

Kira was bored in the car waiting for Jeremy to get the money, while she waited she decided to pull out her smart phone, open the web browser app and catch up on some reading about the things she's missed the past century to make sure she didn't seem completely clueless when anyone made a historical reference that only Klaus or Elijah would understand. Plus, social media was highly popular and she had to get used to it, fast.

The boy arrived a few minutes after the Original texted Kol, how bored she was but upon seeing Jeremy with a smile, she had to put on the façade. It didn't take long for them to arrive at the shelter but at one point they took a wrong turn and the Gilbert didn't want to admit his mistake which caused him an 'I told you so' when they finally took Kira's route.

Once inside they both looked around the different when they spotted the dog Jeremy was hoping for. A gorgeous Golden Retriever, he wasn't a full puppy but he wasn't an adult. If Kira had to guess this dog has been here for a while and sadly the older they grow the less likely they were to be taken in. Upon filling the paperwork with the information Lawrence gave Jeremy, he finally got the dog he always wanted but couldn't have back in Mystic Falls.

"What should we name him?" he asked her as he looked at the smiling pup. "He's your dog." was the only thing she could reply as she tried not to look at the adorable mutt. Yet the yellow beast tried its best to free himself from Jeremy to attack the vampire.

"Yes, but by the looks of it, he likes you so you get to name him" he chuckled looking at how the dog was observing Kira.

"Fine, Sven that's his name." she simply stated not wanting to get attached to it. "Kira doesn't that name work better for Siberian Huskies."

"As you wish. I just gave you an option." she replied unamused before finally looking at the dog and thinking of another name to give it. "How about Rocky?" she suggested with a small smile.

Jeremy looked at her then back at the Retriever before answering "I like it"

The rest of the afternoon was shopping for Rocky at 'Pet Smart'. "I think that's all. Right?" Jeremy asked her for some reason. Kira looked at the articles he placed in the cart to see if he had everything for the dog.

"Yes, that is everything." She told him as they headed to the cash registers. "Rocky really likes you. Ever since we got him he's never left your side"

"Well maybe because I'm good company and some people don't appreciate it like they should" she smirked with a mischievous look in her eyes, causing Jeremy to laugh. "Wow. You really are related to Kol" he decided to reply trying not to laugh of how much ego she just showed. Kira rather surprised yet slightly insulted was about to say something back at him, but he managed to cut her off before she even started.

"I'm joking. You really are good company and I really enjoyed it along with Rocky over here" telling her with a soft look in his eyes. The dog barked as if he was understanding every single word they just said. Kira gave him a genuine smile before it was their turn in line.

Once they arrived at Lawrence's home they quickly got everything set up for Rocky before letting him loose in the backyard. The two teens sat on the grass, Kira constantly getting attack hugs from the dog every time he came back from fetching the ball Jeremy threw or at least that's what the kid called those tackles.

"Why. Can't. He. Tackle. You?" she managed to say as the dog was trying to lick her. That didn't stop him from laughing of how funny the image was. "I don't know but I'm ok with it" he replied with sly smile as he decided to take a picture with his phone before grabbing the ball once more and throwing it for Rocky to fetch, on instinct he noticed what happened and ran like a bullet.

"Too much love" Kira joked before standing up from the grass. "Do you wanna go to the fair? It's in town and I was wondering if you would go with me" he suddenly blurted out. Looking down at him she nodded in agreement.

"See you soon" with those words she left the home at a regular pace but once outside she used her vampire speed to arrive at the Valentines'. And didn't stop until she arrived at her room to get ready. It didn't take her long to do all the things she needed before going downstairs to grab a blood bag, she would've drank from a human before getting ready but that never crossed her mind.

She waited, drinking the red fluid, resting her back against the counter top, Kol came inside not really caring about anything now. "Should I ask?" she commented throwing the bag away. "I'm bored and itching to kill" he simply replied before going to the living room and turning on the game console, a PlayStation 3 if she wasn't mistaken.

She sat down next to Kol when they heard a car was being parked outside. "Either it's those creepy humans posing as our parents or your boy toy" Kol simply said, his eyes never leaving the TV screen as he shoots everything in his way to complete a mission.

"It's Jeremy not boy toy. I'll be seeing you later. Oh, before I forget, don't kill anything that isn't in that game." she ordered like a mother telling her son. Kol paused the game to look at her with puppy dog eyes. "You're no fun."

"Goodbye Kol" with that she leaves the house and gets in the car.
