Chapter 10

A new home, a new life

So, Kotae and Lykaon returned to the wolf territories. Kotae got married in the eyes of the tribe, having a traditional wedding by having her father give her away in front of the tribe. She was then crowned queen of the east lands by Lykaon's officials. The couple then said their goodbye's to everyone and left to start their new life. The couple arrived at the castle. Kotae hired 4 maids and 3 butlers. While Lykaon would wander, or needed to take care of the kingdom, she cleaned up the place. She added a woman's touch. She added new curtains, and new furniture. Time flew by, and Kotae was already 8 months pregnant in just 3 weeks. Pregnancy of a wolf demon is shorter than that of a humans.

When tending to the garden, Kotae went into labour. Hakuru came rushing to her side.

"Kotae! Are you okay?!"

Kotae nodded to Hakuru's question and replied.

"Tell the maids I am in labor, they will take care of the rest…! Ughhh!"

Hakuru nodded and ran inside the castle. The maids were rather afraid of Hakuru. As they ran and hid, Hakuru spoke.

"It's Miss Kotae! She is in labour! She needs help!"

The maids came running out if hiding and went to fetch Kotae. The brought her inside and onto the sofa. They gave her a piece of wood to put in her mouth, and pulled chains from above her to hold on to. Kotae spat out the wood and screamed anyhow.

"AHHH! CRAP IT HURTS! FUCK!"

By instinct and pain, Kotae pulled herself on the chains and pushed! The maids provided towels to put under Kotae's bottom, so the blood would not stain the sofa. Kotae screamed in agony and pushed again. The maids helped Kotae by coaching her breathing. Kotae held tight on to the chains and pushed harder. The infant came out of Kotae. It cried, and cried. It was a boy!

"What be his name Kotae?"

One of the maids asked. Kotae smiled and replied in exhaustion.

"Toshi. Toshi Higurashi."

The maids smiled and cleaned him up. What Kotae didn't know, was that she was not finished yet.

"Okay miss, it is time to deliver the placenta."

Kotae nodded and pushed. It was harder than she thought. She started to have another contraction. She pushed again, as hard as she could.

"Oh dear. Miss Kotae, it seems there is another, you are having twins."

"WHAT?!"

Kotae belted, as she pushed again, sweating like a cow in august. The maids kept tending to clean Kotae's body fluids up, as Kotae pushed harder. The second baby was born. It was a girl.

"What be her name Kotae?"

Kotae smiled. Kotae and Lykaon talk about if it was going to be a girl.

"Her name is Lyra."

The maids smiled and took Lyra away to clean her up. After delivering the placenta, Kotae rested in the master bed room. The doctor came by to check on Kotae.

"Everything looks fine here Miss Kotae."

The doctor said. Kotae nodded and replied while letting Toshi breast feed and bottle feeding Lyra. In the 1600's, the boys were breast fed. It was done this way because the boys would be first in line of the throne. Moments later, Lykaon came home. He saw the maids cleaning up the bloody towels in the parlour room. Thinking the worst, he rushed to the main bed room. He then sighed in relief, seeing his wife in bed with their children. Kotae smiled and spoke as she stroked Toshi and Lyra's tiny heads.

"Welcome home dear."

Lykaon smiled while throwing off his kimono and armour. He then threw his shirt off and cuddled up to Kotae, kissing her cheek. He patted Toshi's head, and kissed Lyra's head with a reply.

"Thank you. It's good to be back. It is amazing just three weeks ago you and I were—well you know…"

Kotae laughed and nodded with a reply.

"Yes, I know. Boy, father wasn't kidding when he said a wold demons pregnancy was short. No wonder Grandma had six children including father."

Lykaon smiled and put his kids in their cribs. He then cuddled up to Kotae.

"So, did you use the names we picked?"

Kotae nodded and replied while cuddling up to Lykaon, slowly drifting off. Lykaon smiled and drifted off as well. Life was good.

Four year later….

Kaede's village…..

Inuyasha married of his eldest son Soka to a human farm girl Ju. After the nuptials, the couple left to their new home in the distant lands. Inuyasha still resented Kotae and his brother. He was furious. You would think after being on this earth for 100 years he would mellow out. He sighed and went inside the hut with his wife and two kids who were still living with him and unmarried. At least things between Kagome and him were okay again. She smiled and at him and fed June, their new and last child. (Kagome was a hanyou, but she was still half human. He didn't want her to die from having too many kids. So June was their last.) Gaeta, was in the corner colouring. Everything seemed fine. However, Inuyasha still didn't feel right. It was Kotae. He still loved her. Even if she was not his daughter by blood, she still mattered. He sat in front of Kagome and spoke.

"Kagome, why are you not cross with me anymore? I MEAN, aren't you still mad that I banished Kotae?"

Kagome sighed and spoke.

"Inuyasha, as far as it is considered, Ayame is her mother now. She helped Kotae with the major points in her life. I am no longer her mother. She no longer visits me. I can take a hint ya know."

Inuyasha frowned and replied.

"This is all my fault."

Kagome gasped, as Inuyasha did the unexpected. Usually he would huff to himself and not talk about feelings. I guess Inuyasha did mellow out. Kagome passed June to Inumae and spoke.

"Inuyasha, I do not understand. I thought you hated Kotae."

Inuyasha sighed and replied.

"I never said I hated her. I was just jealous that you did—things with Koga. So, I took it out on you and Kotae. For that, I regret. If my brother is making her happy, then she is welcome here any time. She is family now."

Kotae smiled and hugged Inuyasha with happiness. Inuyasha smiled and held her. The kids laughed and hugged their parents. A new clean life for them had begun as well.
