Finn, Marceline, Jake, Bubblegum, Peppermint Butler, Flame Princess/King, and Cinnamon Bun stood in front of the collapsed entrance where Darren has been trapped within for 1 hour. They still believed he was alive somehow, Bubblegum already knew full well of this. When Finn turned on the holo-imager she has given him, she forgot to mention an image shall be viewed within her lab of what he would see. The image turned on, she was about to yell at them for taking so long, to have Darren within a small metal room, as she saw the whole thing go down. When it was close to the end she was sure he would have lived, to have him dragged to the darkness. And much worse she wanted to make sure he was all right. Using the recording she zoomed closer to when he was dragged and before the signal died off. She wished she didn't, she saw Darren surrounded face in pain, as a creature tore off his right hand. The next thing she knew it she was calling all her banana guards, minutes later she was waiting at the entrance of her gates. She came to see Finn, face full of fear, eyes glistening full of tears. Jake panicking, and Marcelines' face full of regret. They brought her towards the entrance of the dungeon, unexpectedly to see Flame Princess there waiting. Finn called her earlier to help, and here they were.

"All right listen up, we're going inside. This is a search and retrieve mission, do I make myself clear." Bubblegum asked her guards as they shook their heads in acknowledgment. "Flame Princ- King, will you help."

"Yes." Flame Princess said as she looked towards Finn to see he had his head down, hands shaking.

"Good, and Finn." Bubblegum spoke towards him as he raised his head slightly. "You don't have to come if you don't want to." Bubblegum told as she heard a whisper sounding like a thank you. "All right begin moving the rocks and be on your guard." Bubblegum told as her guards began to move the boulders out of the way. Flame Princess looked to see Finn walking towards a tree and sit next to it. Jake coming by as she heard him try to cheer Finn up. She was about to ask Marceline what was going on to see her deep in thought looking at her covered hand. Flame Princess walked over towards Bubblegum to see what was up.

"Princess." Flame Princess asked.

"Yes." Bubblegum answered.

"Who are we looking for?" Flame Princess asked for she hasn't been informed about this at all.

"A guy, you probably never met him. His name was Darren and-"

"Wait, the human like him, Finn?" Flame Princess asked somewhat concerned.

"Yeah, how did you know?" Bubblegum questioned as, Flame Princess looked towards, Finn to see him so broken the last of his kind again.

"Princess we got it open." A guard yelled out as everyone looked towards them as they moved one last boulder. A gust of wind coming out as a why wolf came out falling to the ground, the Banana guards grabbed their spears and pointed them towards it, no movement what so ever came from the beast.

"It's dead." Flame Princess told them. "There's no heat radiating off it." She told as she gave the creature a slight kick.

"Still be on your guard." Bubblegum told as she instructed her guards to prepare to go down there. Flame Princess was on the ground, she was sitting on top of a Fire Wolf with CB next to her. She looked towards, well everywhere, creatures were scattered and layered on top of each other, each dead. There was so many they were literally just stepping on the bodies. "Marceline, are you sure these were alive?" Bubblegum questioned her as she poked a chud.

"Yes these things were alive." Marceline answered angered to think she would have ran from dead creatures and that Bubblegum would think she was lying. "Or was Finns' face not enough proof."

"Okay, okay, just making sure." Bubblegum told as she examined the bodies then around the cave. She couldn't make sense of this, it couldn't be they died from lack of oxygen if what Marceline said was true and they were coming from the walls oxygen wouldn't have been a necessity. And the way the stairs crumbled had to be sabotage. But-

"Princess." Peppermint called out getting her attention.

"Yes." She asked.

"You may want to see this." Peppermint called a little further into the mouth of the tunnel. She got up and walked towards him as did the rest. She found him looking at something.

"Yes, what is..it?" She stopped when she saw it a liguner, a beast from a long time ago. It had green colored skin, no bigger then 3 feet tall. Looked like a mere small child but had razor sharp teeth, its saliva was a mixture of poison and highly concentrated acid. Its face looked deformed and beaten. The fact she is looking at one is a major find for she had them extinguished long ago. They have become a problem within her Kingdom for they craved sugar, she captured them all and had them killed. Finding the skeletal system of one was rare, Finn rare. But to find one with the whole body completely intact is far more rare. She kneeled before it to examine it better to see the symbol upon its forehead. She instantly felt a chill run through her body as images flashed throught her mind.

"So Bubblegum, deal." A voice was heard in her head.

"For the better of my Kingdom yes." She heard her own voice as it faded away as she heard screams and yells of agony go thought her mind as she grasped her head in pain.

"Princess, Princess." Peppermint yelled as he shook her violently bringing her back to her senses.

"Huh, what, yes." She answered quickly.

"Are you okay." Peppermint asked.

"Maybe you should go back, you're acting kinda crazy." Marceline told her looking at her cautiously.

"No, no I'm fine. Peppermint have a guard come and take this back up, and make sure they do it gently." Bubblegum instructed Peppermint bowed as he whistled for some guards to come. Bubblegum looking at the body then further into the tunnel thinking what else was here.

"Come one Finn, he could be alive. He's probably...hiding under a small hole in the ground. Like we did when we went to the Underworld." Jake tried to cheer him up. This was the second time he has let anyone become the bait to save the rest get away. Last time at least someone replaced James, but now. Finn just let out a sigh as the two heard rumbling to see two banana guards come from the hole. They had a stretcher with them and something in a body bag. Without thinking Finn ran towards them as he looked inside.

"Hey you can't look inside." A guard told him as Finn ignored the guard and opened the bag to find, a liguner? "Top secret." The guard told him as they zipped up the bag again and made siren noises running towards the Candy Kingdom as Finn stayed there glad it wasn't Darren but in a way wanting it to be to at least have something to bury properly.

The gang was still looking around as they saw dead creatures coming from the walls, some half stuck, some just hanging from the ceiling mouths open, eyes lifeless. Bubblegum's curiosity was rising as she saw more and more extinct, or presumably extinct creatures, some ranging to a good 500 years ago, yet here they were organs still good, skin only a mere hours pale from dead.

"Great." They heard a grumble as they prepared their weapons. Marceline with her axe base, Flame Princess with her fiery hands, CB with his fists, Peppermint ready with an incantation as he concealed his black glowing eyes. "To think I was done collecting souls." A grumble was heard again.

"Wait, Death?" Peppermint asked as they heard the figure come closer to see Death coming into view.

"Peppermint Butler, what brings you here. Please don't tell me this is all your doing." Death asked from happy to annoyed.

"No, no, we're just exploring. But why are you here?" Peppermint asked.

"I got to collect these damn things." Death told as he reached inside a chud as its ghostly figured came out as Death flicked his fingers as it turned to a small ball as he placed it within a knack sack he had with him. "The number was so great I had to come personally." Death continued as he took out more souls.

"Death if you don't mind me asking, did you happen to find a human soul lately?" Marceline asked as Death stopped in his tracks.

"WHAT?" He yelled frighting them as he got the knack sack as began to throw souls left and right as the souls moaned and floated away. "I'm going to kick my secretarys' ass. He didn't tell me anything about this." Death yelled as he continued to look through the sack. "I've been waiting for that boy to die for 17 years."

"What no, no, Death another human soul." Peppermint asked as Death stopped and looked at them questionably.

"Explain." Death told them. They started from where Darren came from to this point in time. Death looked at them for some time, then just went back to his usual routine.

"Well then there's no point in looking." Death said as he got another soul.

"Why?" Flame Princess asked as Death gave an annoyed sigh.

"Because he no longer exists now." Death told them as he saw the confused looks within their faces. "Look when a person dies there's a specific place they should go at that specific place and time. But if a person dies in their wrong time line that's it. For you see every 500 years a new religion opens up, and an old one dies off, meaning a new door for souls to go to if they believed. The religion for that one soul died a long time ago. So without a door to go through, and considering he was in the wrong place, poof." Death said with his fingers. "Their souls disappear like they never existed." Death told as they began to worry. "So I'm going to guess this is your doing." Death said pointing his finger to Bubblegum.

"What why do you suspect me." Bubblegum asked offended.

"Because you like fucking me on my job." Death told her with a glare.

"When have I ever done that." Bubblegum challenged.

"How about raising the dead, twice." Death told as Bubblegum had nothing to go against that. "Well then I'll leave you to your, 'research', Peppermint, poker later." Death asked as Peppermint shook his head in agreement as Death continued his job. And so did the rest.

The group made it to the hole where Darren fell through. "Wow that's a long way down." A voice was heard as Flame Princess shoot a fireball at it without hesitation as it let out a shriek of fear. "No, no, I'm here to help." It pleaded.

"Ice King?" They all asked.

"Yes, please don't shoot, I came to help. Jake called I swear." Ice King somewhat cried.

"Well we can use your help then." Bubblegum said.

"What why." Flame Princess yelled raising her heat a little.

"Please calm down, look there's a high concentration of magnesium down there. You go down there and we all blow up. With the Ice King we can at least freeze any problem so please stand guard." Bubblegum asked as Flame Princess cooled down a bit. "All right, Marceline mind carrying me down." Bubblegum asked as Marceline appliqued, Ice King grumbling that Bubblegum didn't ask him to carry her. Marceline carrying Bubblegum and Peppermint flew down as did the Ice King. Bubblegum flashing her flashlight everywhere. They made it to the ground as they instantly saw the bodies and lots of blood on the ground still fresh from the looks of it.

"Ah gross, it stinks down here." Ice King complained as the girls ignored him. Marceline hovering over the bodies looking everywhere, there was no sign of Darren anywhere. Till she saw something coming out of a chuds stomach. It was the broken end of a sword, she reached for it as she pulled out the sword as something else as she gasped out loud.

"Marceline something wrong." Bubblegum asked as she stayed quiet, they got near her to see what she was holding as they all gasped, all but Ice King who heaved adding to the grossness. Bubblegum inhaled deeply."Wrap it up." Bubblegum told.

Finn and Jake were still in front of the entrance waiting for their friends to come up. More rumbling was heard, Finn looked up a little to see his friends coming out he got up, body full of energy as he ran towards them at high speed, he was in front of them in a flash. "Wow Finn you-"

"Did you find anything." Finn asked quickly as they all avoided their eyes from him.

"Finn." Ice King spoke as he held a cloth out in his hands as he began to unwrap it. As Finns' eyes widened it was a broken blade with Darrens' hand still gripping it, the hand was ripped from the wrist a part of the bone sticking out some arteries and veins hanging out as well. "As well as this do hickey." Ice King presented Darrens' iPod as well, the screen cracked and blood spattered around it.

"Sorry Finn, that was all we found."
