Sorry it took me soooo long to finish this guys! Well, I was hoping to finish off with ten chapters but eleven will have to do. Fortunately, I ALREADY HAVE THAT WRITTEN OUT! 8D So yeah, after you read the next two chapters, I'll be done! Buuut I'll save the excitement/sadness later…read on!

Part 1: Rustic Stench in the Wind

"They were regular bots but they weren't like the hybrid siblings!" Sonic said to Tails after we met up with our friends after our long battle. At our nearby camp, we were cooking up a plan to end the madman's plans once in for all in our hypothetical pot called brainstorming.

"Indeed, they were Were-bots!" I finished the hedgehog's statement. Sonic was cleaning his shoes while I sat down quietly on one of the logs cornering the firepit Tails made.

"Really?" Tails asked curiously poking the fire with a stick. "Interesting. He managed to take the data needed to Were-ize a few poor souls then Roboticize them. I'm just thankful I'm not a monster anymore," Tails shuddered. "At least I was in your shoes, for a while Sonic!" Both shared an empathetic and optimistic thumbs-up.

"Yeah, I would rather die than be overcome by such darkness. My guardian days would surely be over if I stayed like that!" Knuckles added, sitting on the log next to Tails, warming by the fire.

"We'd all be in misery if we stayed as beasts, Knuckles." Tails replied. "So, tell us more about these Were-bots, you two." The fox requested to Sonic and I.

"Well, I tell you one thing, big guy, they were no push-overs!" Sonic exclaimed in excitement.

"They were stronger than any typical robot, hybrid, or even a Were." I further explained onto Sonic's statement. "Because they were first Weres, their superior strength carried on into Roboticization. They are quite formidable. They have not only weaponry built-in but they are stronger than their former self. It's quite intimidating, I must say."

"There as one bot that was running on Frost's tail and if I hadn't trashed it, she would have been obliterated a Sonic second too late!" Sonic finished.

"It's actually useful that you two have firsthand experience with these tin cans – it gives us more of a benefit in this war." Tails explained.

"Makes sense." Sonic agreed. I simply nodded to his statement, and he finished, saying, "So, what's our next move?"

"Well, first I need to know what happened to the three remaining hybrid siblings."

"I planted one of the tracking devices you gave me on them, Tails. Since they can no longer feel anything, they didn't notice me while invisible or feel the device on them as I placed it." Espio said standing by us four with his two allies, outside the square of logs.

"Great work, Espio! Let me check to see where they are headed on my Miles Electric!" Taking it out, he pushed several buttons to the Tracking Device screen and three dots appeared on a map, moving rather fast. "They seem to be heading here and by their speed, they should be here within a few hours. I expected they'd come to find us but not this soon. Espio, why don't you and your pals keep searching for evidence of the army's whereabouts?"

"You can count on us, Tails?" Replied a chipper crocodile.

"Great! Let me know if there is movement from them, it would help a great deal!" The three detectives nodded and ran off to find a good bush to conceal themselves in. Looking up at me, Tails continued. "Frostfire, that means I need to deal with that chip in you now if Eggman tags along with these minions of his. If he tries to remotely control you from a certain distance, we wouldn't want you to have no control; that way, you can finally use his little gifts against him."

Tails sat me on a log and got out his equipment and began to work on me.

"This might sting a little." He told me. Inserting whatever it was that could observe what was in me before he could 'rewire' me certainly had its painful moments, but it was worth it. Both my tail and ankles kept having severe 'twitchings' from the circuitry within the machinery attached to my limbs. "You fortunately weren't roboticized like normally." Tails said as he finished his analysis. "In fact, you don't have anything that resembles machinery inside of you. These objects have merely been placed around your fur and have been directly connected to the muscles that make your tail and legs move by the way of microscopic chips implanted in the muscles and brain. Which means, unfortunately, that by trying to remove them would mean instant death. The chips placed within the Cerebellum, which controls your movements, and the muscles that control your limbs. The muscles affected are the Calcaneus, which is in your heels, and the tail muscles. As the Cerebellum controls your motor functions, the chip in the brain, what I'm calling the NeuroChip, controls the chips that are just underneath the objects on your limbs and the skin embedded the muscles that control those limbs, which will be called Muschips. In other words, when the objects, what I'm naming Limbnoids for now, need to transform and coat over your fur to create the mechanized armor over the tail tip and paws, the Neurochips more or less 'tells' the Muschips to act. Like I said before, I can't yet remove them but I can shut off the NeuroChip from receiving commands from Eggman. Whether you can control the Limbnoids via the chips is currently unknown but I think after all this is over, with practice, you might be able to." With a sigh of relief that Tails was able to get what info he needed out of his system, I sighed, also.

"You okay, Frost?" Sonic asked with concern as he gently touching my shoulder.

I smiled. "Yes, I'm relieved that I wasn't in as much pain as before."

"Good." Was all Sonic said, smiling back.

I was more pleased that I now could fool the Doctor into thinking he still had control of me.

Part 2: Cloudwatching

My tail and feet still felt sore from trying out the mental challenge of controlling my limbs once more. I was just grateful I could control them.

"So, what are we to do about the Werehybrid-bots that are supposed to be arriving with three hybrid siblings pretty soon?" Sonic and I laid under the clouds in the field nearby the camp; one of the few places near the lair of Eggman that wasn't destroyed. The hedgehog and I were laying side by side in close proximity of one another. Resting was something Tails recommended and I was not about to say no to it.

"I think we should take them out tonight. Those over-sized trash cans ain't nothing' too big to kick around." The clouds slowly drifted with the breeze. "Just be glad Eggman didn't find extra Chaos Emeralds and combine his army's current powers with Chaos energy. Or we'd have a serious problem on our hands. It'd be one bad case of Super Werehybrid-bots."

"Agreed."

A large strange looking cloud came into view as the two of us stared into the heavens. Sonic chuckled suddenly.

"Hey, look at that cloud!" The hedgehog sat up. "I see what looks like a pair of goggles…" I could hear his devious smirk already.

"What, where?" I asked.

"There." He pointed towards the heavens, somewhere on the right of the skies.

"Oh, I see." I comprehended, squinting heavily. "Kind of does look like goggles, huh? Wait a sec!" I sat up also, staring fervently, trying to make out the rest of the cloud. "I think I see an evil grin!" He chuckled again.

"And I bet you see a bald head and hopefully a mustache!" Looking again, I blew up in laughter and fell on my back.

Sonic simply held his gaze on me. I looked at him back but eventually I snickered;

"What? What is it?"

"Nothing. Just thinking." He quickly looked away, breaking said gaze back to the sky.

"About?"

"About the wind."

I rolled my eyes.

"Typical. Surprised a chilidog hasn't escaped your lips. I'm sure an image of one has raced through your mind."

"Well, now that you mention it, one does sound pretty tasty right now. But I wasn't thinking about wind in the context you think I am."

The way he spoke like me made shudder with glee but I was clever enough to conceal this feeling.

"Care to explain then, Mr. Blue Blur?" He turned his whole body towards mine.

"I'm talkin' about how the wind can take my anywhere. I never really questioned it before, but now I realize how much I actually have to slow down for a moment." I nearly jumped out of my skin upon hearing the fastest thing alive saying these words.

"You what?" I softly said in shock.

"You heard me. I am slowing down a bit. But not for too long. Oh no, after I analyze what has crept into my head, I'll be back on my mental feet."

The urge to squeal from the sound of complex words leaving cool lips was impossible to suppress.

"Hmph. And what have you thought about, concerning all this, Sonic Hedgehog?"

"This simple fact. I've spent all my life roaming places with freedom but no one to enjoy said freedom with. Who says adventures always have to be spent as isolated vacations? Even some retreats deserve a little friendly treat enjoyed with others, right?"

I now was thoroughly confused.

"I…don't understand."

"Frostfire, I'm asking you to join me on my adventures." He warmly smiled. No snicker or smirk, simply a smile. At first I raised my eyebrow, then as he inhaled deeply, waiting for an answer, the breeze blew softly, allowing me to feel exactly what his question meant, even if I still hadn't heard the words from him.

"You…want me to join you?" I began to ask, trying piece together his mental puzzle.

"Yes. I can finally tell you're dying to come along with me. Took me a while to truly understand but I got the message." I didn't know what to say. I've been working to this point for what seemed like so long, and yet I was speechless. I convinced myself he didn't understand I truly desired and this was a dream. Or that he may never understand and he just wants me to be his companion during actual battles.

"Is that all, though? To simply join you in battle?" Sonic shook his head.

"More than that." He seemed like he wanted to say more, but didn't, like he couldn't find the words. It was almost like he didn't need to.

Even if I wanted to ask him more questions, I heard a foxy voice run up the hill to the patch of field.

"Sonic! I'm detecting Werehybrid-bot activity! Come quick!" Both of us simultaneously got back up on our feet to follow Tails. He looked at me with intense approval.

"What?" I asked as he picked up speed and I followed him in the air.

"Just another reason why I want you to be my bot-kicking companion. You're automatically ready for action." I chuckled and we juiced all the way to our destination.

Part 3: Party-Crashers

"You decrepit fools finally decided to show up…" Eggman said we Sonic and I arrived at the abandoned location Tails informed us of. The Doctor was originally going to show up at our hideout but all the heroes thought it best to keep our people who are with us safe. And going for Eggman before he reached camp was the way to do that.

"Yeah, we're here to crash your party!" Sonic exclaimed.

"You're too late, Sonic."

Pressing a button on a device he held, it was obviously the one that controlled the chip in my brain – which was now useless to him. I may not be as good of an actor as Sonic, where dressing up as random citizens (specifically as the female gender to deceive the dim-witted) was his specialty, but acting as if I were under control of Egghead yet in reality not, now THAT I could do.

"Oh no, what's happening!" I said with a hint of sarcasm.

The Doctor chuckled pleasantly as he believed I was still under his control.

"Please, Frost, don't hurt me! I'm too young to die!" Sonic was in on the deception.

"Hmm?" Eggman questioned to himself, hearing even more sarcasm dripping from Sonic's mouth. He may be easily fooled by Eggman is no idiot – he knows his enemy well.

"And too good-lookin'…" Sonic finished with a double eye-brow raise.

"WHAT?!" The Doctor caught on that his work had all been for naught; I was my own person again.

"I'm under MY own control, Doc!" I reveled in my trick and picked up a approaching robot with my talons, preparing to drop it on Eggman's head as he failed miserably to evade my attack.

"Oof!" He exclaimed as the metal hit his cranium. "Ugh, you oafs! Get them!" He said commanding the legion of robotic foes at the comfort of his floating seat.

The bots chased us all around the area, to and fro, until some hit eachother. It was quite humorous to see. As Sonic spun holes into several robots' cores, I pinned quite a few down with my stinger, myself. Upon taking down the lot of them, Sonic and exchanged looks.

"How any did you take down, Frost?" Sonic stopped to catch his breath for a moment.

"Around seventy at least. Why?" I responded.

"I took a hundred to the scrapheap!" Sonic smirked his usual smirk and carried on.

"I wasn't aware this was a contest!" I said as the two of us leapt for Eggman.

"It wasn't but it makes it more fun that way!" Sonic had this smile absent of ego and cockiness but full to the brim with joy. It was encouraging to be by his side.

Then, abruptly, a robotic long arm wrapped its coiled fingers around me; it was one of the stronger hybrid-werebots. It had a face that I seemed to be familiar with from the life before being turned into what I am now. It was once a canine in pure appearance. Now a disfigured form of black and white canine features, Were features, and metal. The eyes that bore into my soul were once light blue windows into a gentle soul that now were devoid of life and only know violence. Though the name of this former person escapes me, I did not struggle to remember nor struggle out of its grip. Perhaps whatever Eggman is planning is my fate. I have lost hope. My lack of memory of my past haunts me. It shall be that way until I breathe no more. I instantly passed out from pure exhaustion in the arms of a mechanical foe, gliding by jetpack to a smaller lair Eggman had concealed in case the former had been found out.

Sonic watched helplessly as my body was being taken away by the Hybrid-Werebot; he was too injured and exhausted from the battle to do anything – which is what Eggman counted on. Try as he may, he could not conjure up enough speed or strength to continue on. He collapsed where he stood, consumed by the darkness of his mind that still lingered from the Dark Gaia event. As his mind formed images within, he was trapped in an asylum of horrendous things to come. He saw everyone he knew die before him in various ways; Amy by suffocation, Knuckles by torture, Tails by brain extraction, and me from an unknown force that he considered the most deadly of all. Screaming "Nooo!" with all his breath awoke his body into an energy-surged drive. Without looking back or speaking to anyone, Sonic pushed his legs to the limit in order to make it to where Eggman hid me before anything could be done to me. Not even Sonic could make it there before the Doctor, not today.

Part 4 - Feel The Fire Where She Walks

"What are you planning to do, you vile and twisted horrid being?" I shouted to the man in red, fraught with rage, wanting release from the cage I was trapped within.

The countenance of Eggman as he turned to face me was unlike any he'd ever displayed in his entire life. It wasn't the typical crazed, villainous, and determined self-proclaimed genius. No, this face belonged to the Devil himself. Today, he was hell-bent on raising Cain.

"I'm going to crush Sonic – no, not just crush him, I'm going to crush his heart until all the blood pours out!"

The usual maniacal laugh wasn't so ridiculous – it was purely filled with insane. This man had genuinely lost his mind.

"Puh! Good luck catching him, Doctor!" Sonic's sarcasm was the only thing I could keep with me to remain calm.

"Oh, my dear Frostfire, I don't need to catch him. You're going to do it for me – successfully this time!"

As the fat man pulled a lever to initiate some sort of mechanical process, I continued to buy whatever time I could. Fueling his anger could distract him long enough for me to escape this prison.

"It's quite depressing if you need to capture me just to entice Sonic here and ultimately defeat you!"

"That is where you're wrong, feline!" Robotnik turned around once more. "He won't have enough time to save you or stop me! I've already started my brilliant plan! And it involves you…"

It was working. Even if it wasn't for long, he was distracted.

"Care to inform me so I can help him foil it?" I said with a best smirk Sonic would do himself.

"Silence! I've had it with your insolence! Destroying Sonic will be that much sweeter if you truly look up to him that much sweeter…" The villain rubbed his palms together maliciously. Perhaps I was mistaken in trying to distract him – I seem to only be feeding his hunger for destruction.

The machine that had sharp objects, lasers and other things slowly descended over my head and the top of the cage. Whatever the fiend was plotting did not look promising.

"Let her go!" Said a voice rushing through an army of robots.

"Sonic, don't try and rescue me! He only wants you to try! Just let me be!" I cried out.

With a couple shredded bots on the floor, the blue blur said, "Not a chance! I'll save you even if it's the last thing I do!"

"Just what I was hoping for…" The Doctor said to himself as he patiently waited for Sonic to release me.

Sonic rolled into a ball and sped his way towards my cage and bypassed the number of bots that were between him and me. He rolled circles around the contraption, furiously trying to heat up the bars in order to rescue me.

"Sonic, please! Just let me go!" I shouted to him. He halted, kneeling on top of the cage, balled up his fists and hit the cage.

"NO! I just got you back! I'm not losing you again!" He yelled.

"What?" I asked confused.

"He almost turned you into a mindless drone!" A tear formed in the corner of his eyes. "I will not let you go! I will NOT lose you like I did Sally!"

With increased fervor, he cut his way through the bars, finally setting me free, but before he could carry me to safety and kick Robotnik's butt straight off Mobius, the machine that was silently powering up had fully reached its limit of warming up and began to fire.

It's beam was almost as fast as Sonic – and intended so. Sonic looked up at the firing machine, then at me. He knew already what fate would become of me. The hedgehog put all his energy he had into his arms and pushed me out of the way of the danger and allowed himself to endure what I should have.

"Yes! My plan was successful!" Ivo rejoiced unbeknownst to either of us.

I fell to the floor with a loud thud. Fortunately and unfortunately for me, any injuries I sustained were nothing compared to what Sonic put himself through. The moment the beam hit his skin, he became what I should have transformed into for good. I don't understand how, but even though he didn't have any hybridization, he had gained wings, talons, and a stinger similar to my own. He had redeemed the Werehog qualities once again, possibly due to his surfaced rage, and was also Roboticized to boot. Sonic the Hedgehog now was a Were-hybrid bot. It was unnerving seeing him in agony as he was transforming and even down to the disappearing life that dissipated in his metallic eyes. But he saved me from it. He took the pain for me. But why? Why risk his life for one person? Why not focus on using his wit and speed to easily foil Eggman like he usually did? What made this scenario so different than the other times he's faced off with the Doctor?

His void-filled green eyes that once sparkled a more lively emerald color glared at me – even beyond the pain, the heroism, the possibility of fear, I could tell he was fighting more now than ever. He tried so very hard not to walk towards me, fighting against the need to kill and capture.

"How the tables have turned…" The Doctor stated with a small chuckle that grew into the laughter he was known for.

I stared back into the face I used to know so keenly; my heart filled with fury, my eyes full of tears, my body stripped of vigor.

"Bring him back, Eggface!" I shouted with vehemence.

"You honestly believe there is a cure for this state?" Eggman laughed. "You're a bigger fool than I thought!"

The words bounced off my ears like an echo off the walls of a cave. The only thing I could hear was the inward cry of Sonic begging to come out of the metallic shell that kept him quiet from anyone else.

All at once, the emotions that had locked away inside of me since Sonic first liberated me from my capsule all those weeks ago burst into something more visible, more tangible, like a flood washing away a beach, like an explosion of fire, like a tornado sweeping up a city into the sky. There was no stopping what was happening. The Were-gene inside me was now my own, mine to use as I please. As were the inventions the Doctor envisioned on using against me. The loneliness and anger inside me swallowed whatever else I could have. Maybe the Doctor won afterall…

Regardless, I leapt up at the Doctor, ready to transport his body all over the room before hoards of bots fled in front of him to protect him. There were too many for me even I the Were-state.

"It would appear your new genes are too brittle to withstand metallic foes. Ha! You wouldn't defeat them all even if you were one of them!"

I had about enough lip from the Doctor. I roared loudly towards his direction and was about to leap once more to dissemble his face when a blue metallic clawed hand picked me up and threw me. Of all the people to stop me it HAD to be Sonic. Even though time was also not on my side, I had no choice but to fight my hero. I emerged from the rubble of the wall that surrounded me upon impact. Sonic in his mindless state wanted to erase me from history and all I wanted to do was erase Eggman from it. Within a split second, Sonic was at my left, kicking me in the jaw, and on my left swiping the other side. He was too fast and I could only hope I'd gain enough strength to fend him off. With one fell swoop, I was again tossed into another wall. Only this time, my vigor was truly draining from my body. Eggman watched the brawl in eagerness, like some child in front of a Television set of a Saturday morning cartoon. If I could not only surprise the fat man and the android before me, I'd have a hand in this fight.

I needed to have the strongest weapon in my arsenal – belief in myself. That is what the hedgehog fought with, what drove him to fight day after day. No matter how many times he fell, he'd get right back up and continue fighting, quitting was not in his nature! In order to defeat him, I had to mirror his very image!

I laid very still, pretending to be in worse shape than my restored will appeared. The transformed Sonic inched towards me, closer and closer until he'd eventually was within reach of me.

"What is taking you so long, hedgehog?! Kill her!" The Doctor ordered.

The closer Sonic came to me, the more the Sonic I knew, within that shell, was fighting. The claws of supposed and certain death reached out towards me and I bounded atop him, keeping him where he was.

"WHAT?!" The dumbfounded Doctor could do nothing to assist what would have been his best plot unfolded yet fold back into the balance that is winner versus loser.

The metallic Sonic fought with everything he had, trying to topple me but I refused to let go. This entire thing may have been about Sonic, but this fight, this journey to better myself – that's the entire plan. If Sonic cared for me like a sister, which I assume is what he had always thought of me, then the transformation was not real. It was to fool me into thinking it was. If my will was undermined and Sonic was gone for good, then Eggman would stop at nothing to usurp all of Mobius. I had the power to stop Eggman dead in his tracks. Slowly, the beast within began to melt away into the kitten I've always been.

"You taught me courage, Sonic! I'm not giving up on you! I know that's what you were doing, you were being the hero that you've always been. Now I'm your hero! And I WILL save you!" I looked the hedgehog dead in the eye. I wanted the champion within to know I was there for him when no one else could be. I wanted him to know everything.

Sonic fell for unknown reasons, and ceased the attack. I kneeled over him, praying he'd return to normal.

"No, NO! I am supposed to win!" The Doctor shouted, ordering more robots to destroy anything in the way.

They didn't even take three steps before a couple of familiar faces got in their way to stall time.

"That's enough out of you, Eggman!" Knuckles said, nodding to Tails who was hovering next to him.

"This ends here!" The fox added.

"Gah!" The speechless buffoon of a scientist proclaimed, fiddling with his toys to fend off the 'nuisances'.

I continued to resurrect Sonic from the spiritual grave with my words.

"Sonic, please come back. You can't stay like this forever. We need you…I…need you. If you don't come back, I don't know what I will do. You can't leave me. I won't leave you. They will have to pry me off your body before I leave you. You mean too much to me to just leave you like this. You've given me so much. I feel whole again, I feel like a new person. Even after I thought you didn't like me, I couldn't get you out of my head. It was like you ran right into my mind and out again." I chuckled through my tears, caressing the lifeless cheek of Sonic. "There are so many things I wish to tell you. So many adventures we have left together. So many secrets to be told… I-I…" I could not finish my words, only could cry. I could only weep for a soul whose life left him and yet hadn't perished at all. I was so engrossed into my sorrow, I hadn't noticed the change to Sonic's body – nor the sound of his breathing.

"Are you…are you an angel?"

I looked up and Sonic, in his groggy state, reached out to me, dying to touch my face.

"You have been through a horrid transformation and an even worse fight and all you can say is that?" I demanded, half-relieved, half-scared for my hero's well-being.

Sonic laughed and touched my face with a huge smile on his face. My only reaction was to blush. Moments later, he passed out. Fearful, I attempted to snap him out of it. Lifting his head up with haste, he shook the bleariness off and stood right up, alert as ever.

Tails had just finished disabling Robotnik's systems and Knuckles was about done himself with the robots that were now a pile of scrap scattered all over the base.

"Looks like I missed a wild party." Sonic said with his heroic stance and smirk. I nearly lost all feeling in my legs but made up for it with flight.

"Yeah, among other things." I replied shyly. The hedgehog cocked his head and gave me an almost flirtatious look. Before assuming his speedy kicking-can and forgetting names stance, he said,

"We've got some things to talk about, Frost. First, let's break up Eggman's party for good. Then we'll chat."

"Alright. I'll take down the decor!" I cheerfully said.

"And I'll hit the piñata!" As Sonic booted Eggman away from the base, I was busy using my talons and stinger to dispose of all the worthless junk in the base, just to further irritate the Doctor.

After we finished trashing the base and ultimately lighting it up for good measure, the four of us watched as the fat man hovered away in shame for the umpteenth time, knowing full well another scheme was boiling in that bald head of his.

"Wow! What a way to foil Egghead's plot again!" Sonic said as he high-fived all his pals.

"Ha ha!" I interjected with a cackle. "Indeed!"

Hearing me over everyone else, he nodded to Tails, giving him a farewell of sorts and swiftly carried me wherever his feet would take him. As I gleefully observed the result of all we accomplished, I looked to the sky, as it seemed to dazzle in light of the joy surrounding the day.

It's finally done! I almost couldn't finish it but I managed to do it. It was a tough one but I did it. I don't really have much to say so GO AND READ THE NEXT CHAPTER PLEASE! :3

NEXT TIME: Some unfinished business with Sonic and Frostfire…
