Each hero is now surrounded by a different color aura. Coty is surrounded by a bright silver aura. Mark is surrounded by a green aura. Dani is surrounded by a flaming red aura. Anna is surrounded is a gray aura. Ash is surrounded in a tan aura. Dakota is surrounded by a light brown aura. Reiss is surrounded by a steel silver aura. Elyssa is surrounded by a deep red aura. Piper is surrounded by a sweet pink aura. Rachel is surrounded by a lightning blue aura. Rich is surrounded by a pitch black aura.

At that moment, Ivory bursts from a nearby alley. She makes a fallen brick wall levitate into the air before making it slam into the side of the large army. It crushes a bunch of them. With a thunderous crash, Rachel slams into the front line first. She releases lightning from all over her body. All the creatures in a small radius around her vaporize. Coty slams into the army with a dragon roar as he immediately cuts down several creatures with one swing of his sword. Dakota mauls a creature before shifting into a cheetah and bouncing between creatures like a pinball machine. Reiss fires the missiles and rockets into the middle of the army before blasting a creature with his laser. Dani fries a large group of the creatures while Anna creates a small tornado in the middle of the army. Mark hurls creatures over the battlefield with a roar. Ash pummels creatures with fast punches while Piper blasts them with concussive force. Elyssa hurls fireballs across the battlefield creating huge explosions. Rich fires his assault rifles with expertise. No shot is wasted. In the distance, the ships are exploding like fireworks.

Rachel blasts a straight path to Loki which Coty and Dakota sprint down. Dakota shoots ahead as a cheetah. He roars as he leaps up towards Loki. Loki chuckles evilly as he brings his staff up and slams Dakota to the side. Dakota roars in pain hitting the ground with a sickening crunch. He doesn't move after that.

"Dakota!" Coty shouts. He growls and leaps up onto Loki's chariot and slams his sword into Loki's staff with all his strength. Loki grunts at the impact. Coty keeps swinging at him not letting up. Loki uselessly deflects his strikes as best as he can. "You will lose this battle." Coty growls.

Loki chuckles evilly, but it was half-heartedly. "I'm not giving up yet. I'm still standing."

Coty smacks him in his leg with the flat of his sword. Loki lands hard on his back. The breath is knocked out of him. Coty holds the point of his sword to his throat. The battle around them seems to move in slow motion as they stay like that not moving. Suddenly, Loki's staff appears in his hands. He slams it into Coty's chest. Coty flies backwards, sliding across the ground for a couple feet. Loki stands up slowly.

"You have lost! No one can stand up against the might of Loki the…" Loki is cut off by a javelin streaking straight through his chest. He gapes at the javelin poking out of his chest. He slowly turns around to see the other heroes standing there. All the creatures are dead one way or another. Mark was the one to throw the dagger Rich had handed him.

"Shut up." Mark growls. He glances at Rachel. "fry him please."

Rachel grins evilly. "My pleasure." Lightning jumps from her hand to the metal tip of the javelin. Loki screams in pain as his body turns to ashes. All the heroes cheer as the ashes crumble to the ground.

Coty groans a little ways away while Dakota wasn't moving since he hit the ground.

"Coty!" Dani screams landing next to Coty and pulling his head into her lap.

"I'll be ok." Coty mutters. "But what about Dakota?"

Anna was already next to Dakota, crying hard. She had already thought she had lost him once. She didn't want to really lose him. "Dakota? Please stay with me Dakota." She pets his lion mane gently. Her tears drip onto his mane. The heroes gather around Dakota's body. Dani had helped Coty up, and he was leaning on her slightly. There was a dent in his armor.

"Dakota was the bravest of us all." Rich mutters softly.

Coty nods. "Even braver than me." He admits.

"I remember the oath he told me about the first time I met him." Anna whispers, running her hands through his mane. "He said, 'I swore to myself that I will protect this world with my life.' He died keeping that oath." She buries her face in Dakota's mane and cries.

"Well, he deserves a heroes burial." Rachel says softly. "I'll assemble the pyre." She zips away.

"He was such a nice guy. He was willing to throw his life away for anyone of us. He almost died protecting most of us." Dani says. Her and Coty kneels next to Dakota's body. "He fought valiantly, and he fought with his heart. There was no anger or jealously or rage in him. He was pure. He was the one person that I had wanted not to die, but he gave his life to protect this world and protect his friends." She sniffles as tears stream down her cheeks.

Anna sobs hard into Dakota's mane. She was heart broken. The love of her life was dead and she didn't even get to him her true feelings.

Rachel arrives a moment later. "The pyre is ready."

Everyone nods as Mark and Reiss carefully pick Dakota's body up and carry it to the pyre. They lay it carefully on top.

"He deserves these latin words. Ave Atque Vale." Coty says strongly. "Hail and Farewell, Shifter… Dakota… my friend."

Dani then sets the pyre on fire. The pyre and Dakota's body burns brightly. The ashes fly off into the sky. At that moment, a ghostly figure appears above the pyre. It was Dakota's ghost. He smiles down at them all.

"I may be dead, but I am not gone. I will always be in your heart. Especially yours, Anna." He turns to look at her. "I love you. I have always loved you ever since I first laid eyes on you and told you of my secret oath. You have always been on my mind whenever I went out to save the world with any of the other heroes. You were what I was fighting for the most. Always. You will always be my soul mate,. Anna. Always and forever." The ghostly figure of Dakota caresses her cheek right before he disappears into the sky.

Anna stares up at the sky as tears stream down her face. "I love you too." She whispers before crying even harder. Ivory places a comforting arm around her and steers her back towards headquarters. Everyone else went about the slow process of cleaning up the city.
