The Siren's Song
Chapter 9 – "Odyssey"
-2 months later-
Quinn's mouth was parched; her canteen had run out of water just over two hours ago. The heat of the afternoon sun bore down on her as sweat stung her eyes. She had managed to get through the Sahara from the Algerian border and closer to Marrakesh where Puck said he would be waiting.
"Just one more stupid sand-dune! C'mon Fabray!" She yelled out loud to herself.
As she reached the crest of the dune a breath of relief left her lips. Camels; camels were everywhere behind a perimeter of fencing. It was a camel farm; civilisation. She could see cars driving along a major highway in the distance. It was time for Quinn to go home. Sue had left her out here to find herself, to re-cooperate from the physical and mental attack of Russel Fabray. She hoped she had succeeded in fulfilling her purpose out in the desert. Quinn Fabray knew who she was now, and what she had to do. She wasn't always alone. Along the way she had bumped into a wandering group of Berbers. One of the men among them was a spiritual man and she learned many things about finding inner-peace and self-control from him. With the isolation she was able to train and hone her fighting skills, even develop new ones! Neither was her heart alone, at least once or twice a week she would hear from Rachel. Their conversations were brief, but encouraging none the less. Rachel was quick to forgive her for her actions 2 months ago when she was in an unstable state – it was just so difficult for her to forgive herself, and for a while that burdened her until eventually she was able to let go. What they were she wasn't sure, she wasn't ready to label their relationship, but she knew they loved each another.

Back in New York the forces of Hades had been busy the two months Quinn was gone. Despite the lull in terms of intelligence on the chosen teenagers who had the powers of the gods, Russel Fabray stayed vigilant.
"Useless! Bloody useless!" Roared Russel at the form that lay prostrate on the floor before him.
" S-S-Sir, I tried my best to befriend Brittany, bu-" whimpered Jacob Ben Israel.
"No buts! I'm tired of hearing your excuses! You are meant to be the best at retrieving intelligence. St. James!"
"Yes, sir?" replied the younger man as he took a step forward towards his dissatisfied master.
"How many new recruits do we have?"
"We've managed to get about a dozen more recruits sir. Also, we were able to coerce some of the local politicians to join us in our cause."
"Great! That's excellent news, better than from this useless sack of flesh over here!" Yelled out Russel who then stood up and spat down at Jacob.
"Sir wait," Jacob quietly requested.
"WHAT IS IT?!" Yelled their leader.
"I have some information that I did overhear while following Ms. Pierce around. Quinn Fabray, your daughter…"
"What about my daughter you worm?" interrupted Russel.
"Th-there's news that she's returning back to New York soon," Jacob stuttered out.
"Returning? Returning from where?" he asked.
"Somewhere in Northern Africa. Morro…Moro…" hesitated the young man.
"Morocco sir," said Jesse as he completed Jacob's sentence. "Supposedly Sue Sylvester had her sent to the Sahara."
"How am I only hearing this now?!" demanded Russel Fabray.
"I'm so sorry! Forgive me Hades," begged Jacob. "I only found out about this yesterday and had told Jesse."
"You idiot! You should've have told me straight away! Jesse! Get this pathetic human out of the sight! Give him the punishment he deserves, but remember, not anything that can be seen," ordered the vessel of Hades.

Quinn watched the people pass by, her eyes hidden behind her aviators, as she sipped on her glass of mint tea. She was seated outside a café and watched as locals and tourists passed through Jemaa el-Fna. The marketplace was busy, but not too crowded and soon she saw two familiar faces.
"Hello Thing 1 and Thing 2," greeted Quinn with a grin.
"Well look at you Ms. Fabray! You're looking all 'self-discovered.' No, seriously it's good to see you alive," said Puck as he wrapped Quinn a hug after she stood up to greet them.
"Quinn, you're looking really fresh! Ready to head home?" asked Kurt as he too also wrapped Quinn in a tight hug.
"Yeah, I'm ready," she replied and cast a smile towards Puck. "The bird ready to fly?"
"What bird? I thought we were going to stay here in paradise forever?"
"Puckerman," warned Quinn as she lightly shoved the tall man in the shoulder, releasing a small jolt of lightning without hurting him.
"Ouch! Don't you dare go all lightning-bender on me missy!" Puck replied, grabbing his shoulder in dramatic fashion.
"OH MY GOD PUCK" huffed out Kurt. "You are an adult. We do not make references to children's shows like Avatar!"
"Lies!" yelled Puck. "There's so many deep thoughts in each epi-"
"Stop. Stop this weird talk about profound thoughts in a children's cartoon.," Quinn requests while pinching her nose and squeezing her eyes tight. She hopes she won't have to endure too much of this talk any longer once she steps foot back on US Soil. "Is the plane ready Puck?"
"Yes, it is. Kurt, call our driver to come pick us up. We're going home!"

A/N: ERMAGHERD. It's an update after nearly 3 years of not updating this fanfic. Where have I been? Well, long story short…too many places. One being on an active volcano. Anyway, I just want to thank you if you're still reading this, thanks for the reviews and now that my feet have somewhat found a place of permanence (with stable Wi-Fi) I'll be able to update whenever possible. I MAKE NO PROMISES. But, I'm currently working on a few other AU Faberry Fanfics and err…maybe other naughty stuff involving said couple. *Perverted laughter* I'm sorry this chapter isn't very long, but we'll get there! Okay, I go now.
