It surprised Isshin Kurosaki when he first saw his new daughter in law. She was a bit older than Ichigo ex-girlfriends and she didn't wear much make up or perfume like the previous girls Ichigo had ever dated but what surprised him the most was how she reminded him of his wive, Ichigo's mother's, Masaki.
He had always known, though the boy would never admit it, his son had always admired his mother. He had always been a mama boy since he was young, and seems like what people says that most boys would marry a woman who looks like their mother is true. No matter how many younger girl had he been dating before, in the end he married a woman who looked like his mother. Somehow it made the old man happy.
Isshin tried to judge Orihime as they had dinner together. She was shy, but adorable never the less. She seemed nervous but she could blend easily with the family. She was smart and funny, he had to admit that this time his son had caught a special woman.
At first Yuzu seemed surprised seeing her only brother came home with an unfamiliar woman, who was totally different with his previous girlfriends. She had always been close to her big brother and usually she would feel a little jealous toward Ichigo's girlfriend but this time, from the way she beamed to Orihime, it seemed like she didn't mind her to be her sister in law. Karin seemed more than satisfied too, she had always being unfriendly towards Ichigo's exes before, stating that they were too dumb and would only make his brother looked even dumber, but she seemed fine with Orihime.
Masaki herself seemed so extraordinarily happy when he introduced Orihime to them - "let me introduce you to my wife, Orihime", she had been nagging her son to settle down already and so far he always said that he didn't plan to do so anytime soon. That was why when he came home this evening, bringing his new wife with him, Masaki could only squeal and pulled her new daughter in law into a bone-crunching hug. She was in love with the girl the first time she saw her. Orihime was just the exactly the type of woman she had always wanted her son to be involved with, not those childish girls he had hanged out with.
"So, you're a professor?" Masaki smiled, "at such young age? You must be a genius! Oh my, not only beautiful, you are also smart, our son is so lucky!"
Orihime's face was so red, she swallowed her food hastily and shook her head, "I am not a genius..." She mumbled, "and I am not that young."
"What major do you teach?" Yuzu asked cheerfully, her eyes were sparkling when she looked at her new sister in law, "and may I call you Nee-chan?"
Orihime looked at the younger girl and nodded shyly, "of course, Yuzu-chan, you may call me Nee-chan if you wish," she added, "ah I teach Physics and Biology. I am taking a long vacation though now..."
"Biology!" Isshin grinned, "Ichigo was also..."
"Aaah! Dad! Look at the time!" Ichigo cut him in, Isshin looked at Ichigo frowning and unhappy, "don't you have to go? You said you have a night shift today?"
The older man frowned, he looked at his watch and growled, "ah damn, you're right. I have to go now." He stood up and walked toward his wife and kissed her cheek lovingly, "I gotta go now, you guys have fun without me." He added with a wink before he left the kitchen, "don't miss me."
Ichigo and Karin rolled their eyes but Yuzu and Masaki just waving their hand toward the old man. Ichigo sighed and looked at his wife who sat next to him, relief that his father didn't talk too much. Orihime watched the older Kurosaki left the room and turned to the other Kurosakis.
"Where is Kurosaki-san going?"
Masaki chuckled, "Isshin wouldn't be happy if you call him that, he would ask you to call him 'Dad' and me 'Mom'."
Orihime blushed, "but I..."
"That just how it is, you're a member of our family now, you should start to act like one," Masaki smiled kindly, "and your answer is?"
"Y-yes,..." The word tasted weird but she tried to say it anyway, "mom..."
The older woman grinned, "now that makes me happy..." She clasped her hand together. "Oh by the way, Isshin is going to the hospital."
Orihime gasped, "is he okay? I m-mean, is Dad sick?"
Yuzu laughed, "of course no, Nee-chan! Didn't you see? Daddy is perfectly fine!"
Karin chewed her tofu and smirked, "he didn't look like one, but that old man is a doctor. An internist actually and a the head of the hospital."
Orihime's eyes widened, "a hospital?"
Sudenly she felt scared. She had a bad feeling about this.
"Our family own a hospital," Yuzu explained, a little surprised because she had expected as his wife, Orihime should have known at least this much about her husband's family, "Niichan supposed to take over but he said he isn't interested."
"W-was it because he chose to be a professional soccer player?" Orihime felt like someone had punched her in the stomach, she didn't know about this.
Karin shrugged, "not really, actually we had never expected him to be a soccer player... He told us that soccer was just a hobby. But he joined a professional soccer club and drop out from university though he was almost graduated. It was a master degree too and what he needed was just finishing his thesis and..."
"Master degree?!" Orihime dropped her chopstick, "Kuro- uh Ichigo-kun? Master degree?" She felt the world was spinning around her, all of sudden she felt so stupid and angry at the same time, "b-but how old was he?"
"18? Almost 18... Or was it 19?" Masaki seemed not really sure, "Ichigo was really smart, he skipped few years in elementary and high schools..." The beautiful woman looked at Orihime with a worried look, "hey, are you okay? You are so pale!"
Orihime turned to look at Ichigo who refused to look at her. She would kill this man. Really. She would definitely kill him. Slowly and painfully. How could he... How could he!
"Orihime-chan? Are you okay?" Masaki seemed really worried when Orihime didn't answer her.
Orihime tried to open her mouth to say something, anything, to either Ichigo or Masaki but suddenly her head was spinning and the last thing she heard was Masaki's voice calling her name before she fainted.
.
When she opened her eyes, she was already in his old room. Nobody had told her that, she just knew it. Everything was still blurry and her head was still pounding but she could feel him. She could smell him. She winced when she tried to sat up but a pair of strong hands stopped her and pushed her back down.
"Stay still, you have anemia."
Orihime gritted her teeth and closed her eyes. She didn't have to look at him to know who was it. That bastard. How dare he sounded so calm, as if it wasn't his fault.
"It's not anemia," she frowned, "it's you!"
"What?" Ichigo scowled, he sat down on the bed, "I was the one who carry you up here and wait for you to wake up, and this is how you treat me, huh? Professor?"
Orihime's pale face slowly turned red, "don't pretend as if you had no idea what I am talking about. You lied to me!"
Ichigo growled, "what?! What lie?!"
"You are," she hissed, slowly opened her eyes to meet his brown ones, "not an idiot. You are not stupid!"
Ichigo couldn't decide whether he had to laughed or feel offended by her statement. For some reason, he had this urge to smirk but from the way she looked at him right now, she looked angry but she would have no idea how adorable she actually looked like at the time when she pouted like that.
"When had I told you I was stupid?" Ichigo had to hid his smirk.
"But you supposed to be stupid!" She knew it was rude but who cares, her hormone had made her frustrated enough to yell and cry at the same time now, "poor my baby... Oh what have I done to my baby! Now there is bigger chance my baby would be a genius... You! This is all your fault! You shouldn't have impregnated me!"
Ichigo ran his fingers through his spiky orange hair. This was crazy. He knew it was her hormone talking but he couldn't help but to feel offended.
"It was you," he gritted his teeth, "you're the one who seduce me. You and your crazy plan! You. Are. At fault. Too! You! Crazy woman!"
To his horror, Orihime started sobbing.
What he needed right now to complete his misery was one of his sister walked in and found out her crying in his bed. The women in Kurosaki family would kill him, thinking that he was the one who had made her crying. Well, it was really him who made her cry but it wasn't really his own fault anyway. He had tried his best to keep it as secret because he had had a feeling she would act like this when she knew that he was not some idiot bastard just like what she had expected him to be.
At first he felt awkward and he wondered if he really needed to do this but then he realized that he had to do something about this. He didn't really understand why but he realized he didn't like seeing her crying like this. Especially knowing that he was part of the reason.
So, after cursing silently, Ichigo finally pulled his new wife into an awkward embrace. He had expected her to push him away or to resist, he was ready for any kind of resistance she was going to put up but strangely she didn't do that. She let him hugged her. She sobbed silently while he rubbed her back tentatively, unsure of how to calm a crying woman.
"Poor baby," Orihime sobbed, "the baby would be a genius... He or she would never grow up normally..."
Ichigo frowned, actually he still didn't understand why was it really a big deal for her if their baby born as a genius. Most parents would be happy, proud even, if their baby was born genius.
"So what if the baby were a genius. Isn't it good?"
Orihime snorted, strangely, even her snort was adorable, "don't you understand? The baby wouldn't grow normally once people found out that he or she is a genius. The teacher would treat him or her as if he or she was some kind of thropy and the other kids would treat the poor baby as if he or she were some kind of weirdo."
The orange head looked at his wife seriously. He had heard about this before, how her traumatic past as a kid had affected her so much that she didn't want to have a genius baby. He didn't understand though, because he had never been in her shoes, his childhood was not so bad and his family, despite his crazy father, was always supportive to him. He couldn't imagine the hardness she had been through as a child.
"Say, if the baby was really a genius, would you love it less?"
Orihime blinked. She looked at Ichigo but the man looked so serious when he stared into her eyes.
"Now that you know that there is a chance the baby would be not like how you want it to be, would you abort it?"
She couldn't believe her ears. She slapped his hard chest, "how dare you! I would never hurt my baby! I would love it no matter what! How could you say that?!"
Ichigo caught her hand before she slapped him again, "so what's the problem? I would love the baby too and I would be there for him or her, no body would dare to bully my offspring. You would be there too. The baby is not you. Maybe your parents didn't love you but this baby has you, and me."
She was speechless. That wasn't what she expected to hear from him but that was much better than anything that she had expected. A strange warm feeling fill her heart and for a moment she thought she might be in love with this man.
Orihime was about to open her mouth when someone was knocking on the door.
"It's me, may I enter?"
Ichigo sighed. He still looked at Orihime but he let her hand go, "sure, come in, Yuzu."
One of the twin entered the room with a worried look, he looked at Orihime then Ichigo, "is everything okay? Is Neechan feeling better?"
Orihime forced a smile, "d-don't worry Yuzu-chan sorry to make you worry about me but I feel better..."
"It's just anemiac," Ichigo looked at his sister, smirking, "she's pregnant."
The look upon Yuzu face was priceless, she put her hands on her cheeks and walked to ward Orihime who looked as surprised as her, she didn't expect her husband to tell his family about the pregnancy this way, and this soon.
"OMG! OMG! Are you serious?!" She grabbed Orihime's hand, "Nee-chan?! I'm going to be an aunt?"
Orihime could only smile nervously and nodded. She bit her lower lip when Yuzu clasped her hand together, she looked happy and dreamy.
"Oh wait! I would tell mom and Karin! Oh my God, I would call dad too!" She already dashed out of the room before Ichigo could stop her.
Ichigo groaned, "she doesn't need to tell that stupid old man!"
"You shouldn't talk bad about your father," Orihime scolded him and added in a hiss, "and why did you tell her?! I thought we're going to keep it secret from your family!"
Ichigo leaned closer, "they would know eventually and there's no need to hide it from them. They are my family, yours too. You were afraid that the baby would grow up like you, weren't you, now I will show you what a family is and why you shouldn't worry anymore."

Uryuu Ishida was drinking alone in one of his favorite bar. It was one of those night where he just needed to be alone, maybe get some laid if he felt like it. He just didn't want to go home tonight to his cold and empty apartment nor did he want to spend his time with his nosy friends.
He looked at the vodka water in his glass. So, finally Ichigo was married. He got married to a fine woman too, that lucky bastard. Uryuu hated to admit it but he was slightly jealous toward that orange haired friend of his for being able to find a woman like her...
When he met her that night, he knew that the woman was special, unlike Ichigo's exes. The way she smiled awkwardly and that look in her eyes... If only she were his birthday gift instead of Ichigo's...
Uryuu didn't really hate Ichigo. Despite their rivalry, they were actually best friend. They would rather die than to admit that though, and Uryuu did feel happy for Ichigo for finally find the right woman for him. He did feel happy for that bastard, but... Somehow it felt lonely.
He drank the vodka in one gulped and hissed. He was getting drunk.
"Oh wow, can't believe I catch you here..."
Uryuu frowned. The black haired man looked at the young woman who seated herself next to him. Suddenly he wanted to groan. He had a bad feeling about this.
Why him?
Uryuu grunted as he asked the bartender for a refill. He could feel the woman was still looking at him. Her long legs were crossing and cheek rested on her palm. He had a feeling why she came to him and he kind of wish he was wrong.
Too bad, he was never wrong about this kind of feeling.
"I thought you were in America," Ishida tried to sound as calm as he could he called the bartender once more to order some drink for the woman. How he wished he wasn't alone. Renji would do better than him in this kind of situation. Even Chad would do better. This woman held his weakness with her and she knew it perfectly. The way she smiled confidently proof that.
"I came back, my contract has ended and I start a new contract here," the woman smiled, "I would stay her for at least six month, that, if they didn't extend my contract here. So how's life?"
Uryuu tried not to look into her beautiful hazel eyes, he knew that was a bad think, those eyes were dangerous, "I'm good. Life's good."
"Nice," the woman took a sip of her drink, "and how about Ichigo?"
There came that question. Uryuu cursed silently, hoping that she didn't realize it.
Why now?
Why me?
"He's doing good," Uryuu shrugged, this woman could be really intimidating when she wanted to. He didn't know if he should really say it or not. But after few seconds, he couldn't hold his tongue anymore.
"He's married now anyway."
He could sense the storm was coming closer.
.
When Orihime opened her eyes the next morning, she was alone in his bed. She frowned as she rubbed her sleepy eyes. Last night was tiring. She didn't even complain when he slept next to her, holding her close to his body, reasoning that the bed was kind of small for the two of them. She didn't say it but she kinda like it, the warmth of his body made her feel safe and comfortable.
She looked at the clock on the table and groaned. It had been ten o'clock! She overslept! Now how should she face her in laws? It was her first morning there and she overslept, they would think she was lazy.
She didn't want to leave bad impression to them, really, those people were really nice to her. Last night, Masaki had hugged her so tight, congratulating her on her pregnancy and Isshin was calling from the hospital, he sounded so happy for her pregnancy. She had never expected his family to be this nice toward her, she felt really bad because what he had with Ichigo, except for the baby, wasn't real.
And now she had been overslept.
How embarrassing.
"You're awake?"
Ichigo closed the door behind him, a tray of food in one hand as he walked to the bed.
"Milk, bread, honey and scramble egg, is it okay?"
Orihime. Looked at the food and her stomach started growling. She blushed but Ichigo chuckled.
"I guess that means it's okay."
Orihime mouthed a thank you as she started eating her breakfast. Ichigo sat on the edge of his desk, folding his hand on his chest and watching her finishing her food.
"Sorry I overslept..."
"Don't worry about it, my parents kind of worried about you since you're pregnant, they told me to make sure you have enough rest."
She pouted, "but I am not sick."
Ichigo shrugged, "I know, my parents can be overreacting sometime but this time I agree with them, after all, I don't want to see you collapse like last night."
Beautiful blush painted her cheek as she tried to defend herself, "I was just too tired! It won't happen again."
"Sure it won't, I won't let it happen," he snorted, "by the way, after you finish your breakfast, wash your face and we'll go out."
She tilted her head, "what? Where?"
"Shopping for your clothes. You don't bring any, do you?"
She pouted once again, he had to admit that when she was like this, she looked much younger than she actually was, not to mention adorable too.
"That was because you didn't tell me we're going to visit your parents!"
Ichigo didn't say anything, he watched the woman licked her fingers clean off honey, something innocent which somehow successfully made him hard. Oh, this woman was such a cock-tease and she didn't even knew it.
He blushed when he realized that he was really hard just by watching her eating her breakfast. He decided that he would need a cold shower before they go out.
"I would take a shower," he mumbled as he leave the room.
Orihime watched her husband confusedly. He sure walked funny. But she shrugged it off. She would never understand men.
