A/N: so I've actually had this written up for a month, but I forgot to post it, so gomen and enjoy.
Embodiment of Fire
Ding dong.
"Ahh Naruto someone's at the door."
Kagome grumbled from her position with her head resting on the table, too tired to even eat her ramen in front of her. Yoto the only morning person had woken up awhile ago and hade left to by more supplies for their training.
Naruto pouted at her, but she merely growled lightly and he got up immediately going to answer the door.
Sakura sweat dropped when Naruto answered the door in his pj's holding a cup of ramen.
"Don't stuff you face with heavy food right after you wake up, damn it."
Naruto swallowed his food, "Sakura-chan, we got the day off...What do you want this early in the morning?"
A vein pulse of Sakura's brow. "It's noon already."
She straightened up, "Anyway...wash your face and get dressed. I'll be waiting."
Suddenly Naruto was more lively, "What?! Is it a date?"
"Date?!" Kagome came up behind Naruto peering over his shoulder. "Ehh Sakura-chan you're asking Naruto-nee-san on a date!"
"Idiot! Tsunade-sama's summoning us!" She yelled although it was directed more at Naruto. Kagome pouted, while Sakura calmed down after smacking Naruto in the head. "Ahh Kagome-san you're here too that's good."
"Hmm," Kagome cocked her head to the side.
"Tsunade-sama has asked that you come along as well, especially given how involved you are now with Naruto."
Sakura wouldn't say she was fond of the Naruto's cousin particularly. The girl was more mature than Naruto, but she still had some of his traits. 'Even now.' Kagome had an identical steaming cup of ramen in her had and looked like she too had just woken up.
Kagome's lips screwed at the thought of having to go anywhere. She just wanted to sleep.
However, she nodded and went to get dressed. Naruto trudged along.

"You're late!" Tsunade chastised them. "What's with this sluggish behavior?! Geez."
Sakura apologized trying to explain why she was late, while Naruto and Kagome strolled through the door.
Naruto was dressed in his usual attire without his jacket, while Kagome hadn't bothered changing, almost making the occupants eyes pop out of their head. She had on red and white tube bikini top with a pair of shorts and wore red geta on her feet.
Naruto looked up surprised to see his sensei.
"H-huh, You're back already Ero-senin?"
"Long time no see, Naruto!"
Jiraya and Naruto started up a friendly banter before trying to leave to go get some miso pork ramen. Tsunade and Sakura quickly ended their reunion, while Kagome observed the older gentleman. He seemed very nice.
After both were settled down with matching knots on their heads Kagome couldn't help but laugh.
Jiraya's attention brought back to the beauty, lost thought of everything else.
"Well now what a cutie! May I know your name fair maiden?" He said taking both of her hands into his. Kagome sweatdropped, while a tick mark pulsed on Tsunade's face.
"Ano, Kagome."
"Aww that's such a cute name-"
Tsunade suddenly pulled Jiraya back, effectively releasing Kagome. Naruto also reacted quickly protectively pulling Kagome closer to him keeping a hand on her waist. Sure Ero-senin was his sensei, but he wouldn't allow his to perverted teacher to pervert his pure cousin like Kakashi-sensei. Kagome smiled, leaning her head on Naruto's shoulder glad to be away from the man she sensed a perverted spirit floating off of him. To anyone else they might resemble a couple, but other than Jiraya they knew it was like a big brother protecting his little sister.
"So what is it you wanted to talk to us about?" Sakura asked trying to break the awkward feeling in the room.
That seemed to cut all the playfulness out of the adults in the room.
"What's the matter Granny Tsunade?" Naruto asked, the last remnants of sleep fading away from his tired body.
"That's right," she said uncrossing her arms, "Truth is, there's some information that's been going around. That's what this is about.
"Information?"
"What? What is it?"
Kagome could sense that the Tsunade-sama along with the other two week really tense.
Her hand reached up to place over Naruto's arm that was still around her.
"Orochimaru has died." Naruto and Sakura's eyes widened. "And it would seem that Uchiha, Sasuke has killed him."
Kagome glanced at her cousin's face. 'Uchiha Sasuke. Their ex-teammate that Naruto wants to bring back to the village.' However, she could tell by the looks on the Hokage's face that Sasuke obviously had no plans of returning here.
"So that means Sasuke is coming back to the village? Right?" Naruto asked enthusiastically.
"It doesn't look like that's the case," Jiraya said solemnly.
