Chapter 9: What You Gonna Do
Rated T
Patricia's life seemed to be improving again now that Piper was awake and about to head back to school. She had even ended up being talked into going to therapy again. She found it nice to feel like she had someone besides Eddie and Joy to talk to. She found herself not having a hard time opening up to the therapist she started going to. It was just that getting her there the first time that had been the struggle. Eddie had been so persistent about it. He had even been the one to trick her into going to the first session. She was surprised at how much she liked her therapist. She had joked that her therapist was the adult version of Eddie and Joy.
Today was Saturday. She had a visit with her therapist earlier in the day, but the rest of the day was a free day. She could've gone to the movies with the rest of the Anubis girls but she wasn't really interested in the corny rom com of the week, they had all gone to see.
Patricia was scrolling through chum chatter on her laptop, just trying to pass time, when there was a knock.
"Come in," she responded not taking her eyes of her laptop. She figured it was Trudy checking up on her, seeing as she was the only one who didn't go out.
"Trudy said you didn't go to the movies, and since I just got back I figured we could do something."
"What did the boys day end early," Patricia asked her eyes flicking from the laptop to where her boyfriend stood.
"I didn't go."
"You left when they did, what'd you end up doing?"
"I was um visiting someone," he murmured.
"Oh."
"Oh what?"
"It's just sometimes your sneak off and I've never really questioned it but I can't say I'm not curious," she murmured. She swung her legs over the edge of her bed and put her laptop down onto her end table.
"Why are you jealous? Worried I've been off running around with another girl," he joked. Patricia did not find this funny.
"Not at all. Who else is going to want to date your sorry self," she smirked.
"I don't know, but I'm fond of you, so I don't think it really matters."
"So where do you disappear to?"
"You remember in America? How we always had those few topics we were never supposed to talk about? Well it's kind of about that."
"Hey you make me talk about Piper, and my parents. Why can't you tell me what's up?"
Eddie couldn't bring himself to say anything. He had kept everything about his dad hush hush. The only real knowledge he had ever shared about his dad was that his dad lived in England. He never told her that her, that his dad was a headmaster. Much less he had never said his dad was a headmaster here. He was almost scared to tell her now. After all the pushing he had done to get her to open up to him, he had been keeping a huge secret from her. His history with her, well it scared him that maybe she'd end up mad at him. Mad he was keeping secrets. Mad she had opened up and he hadn't.
"Are you going to tell me or not," she hissed. She hadn't that he seemed to get to keep secrets and she couldn't. He made her be an open book. Well he got to be shut away.
"It's about my dad. He- well he's kind of the headmaster here. That's why I came here. I came to get to know my dad," he let out a sigh. He didn't know what else to say. He was waiting for her to be mad. To yell at him. To tell him he was stupid for not being open with her.
"Why didn't you tell me," she murmured. She didn't seem angry.
"I didn't want anyone to know I was the headmaster's son. If your dad was the headmaster, would you want people to know?"
"This isn't about me though. This is about you. You could've told me. I really wouldn't have cared Eddie. When I saw you that day, it was the happiest I had been in awhile. Hell you could've shown up because we were on the run from the law. I was just glad to see you. Who your dad is doesn't matter to me."
"You won't tell anyone right?"
"Why would I. I don't rat people out. It's your secret. Not mine."
"You really are the best girlfriend ever," he smirked. He leant down to give her a kiss. But before he could give her one, she was off her bed.
"No kisses because you still kept it a secret from me in the first place," she teased.
"That's not even fair Yacker," he whined.
"Too bad," she smiled, before swiftly exiting her room.
*Dodges rotten fruit thats bound to be thrown*
I'm so sorry for not updating. I kinda haven't wanted to write at all, much less this. This is ugh to me. But I'm challenging myself to upload/write something new every day in December. So that means I plan to finish this fic finally.
There are like 2 chapters left? Well technically one and an epilogue. IDK
I'm so so so so sorry for not updating for three months. Really I am.
