Hey! UknownHero here and welcome to another chapter of the IBLS Chronicles! Like I say in every other fic I write apart from React Watch Believe Yikes, I've been focusing on that fic to get it done quicker so I can try and finish RvB: Reactions. And, well, this is my fic I write for fun so I don't really update it much. Anyway, let's start this thing.
Load Game… Start!
Chapter 10: Advanced Combat
"FUCK! GET DOWN!" Luna yelled as she & Blake shoved Weiss & Blizzard respectively as everyone else hit the deck. Bullets whizzed over their heads as everyone kept their heads down and waited for the bullets to stop. After a few seconds, it stopped, allowing everyone to catch their breath and observe the situation, "Everyone alright?" Luna whispered, scared that whatever shooting at them, human or machine, could find them through sound,
"Peachy." Weiss whispered back, "First lesson in this class and we almost died! What kind of crazy tea-"
"Shut up." Igneous interrupted as he looked at the darkness around them, "I think I hear something. Listen." Everyone went silent as they tried to find the sound Ig found. Blake was the first to pick it up as she heard four sets of beeping. And she knew it wasn't good,
"Bombs." Blake told everyone, "There are four bombs here."
"What!?" Ruby almost yelled out only for Skye to cover her mouth before she could, "There are bombs!?"
"Yes, and it looks like we don't have much time."
"Can you see them?" Yang asked,
"I think so. Look for red lights." Everyone did what Blake said and found 4, barely visible red lights, "See?"
"I don't wanna die. I don't wanna die." Bliz whispered to herself over and over again, hoping somehow they would survive,
"We are not going to die!" Igneous said through gritted teeth, "We just gotta think this through."
"Or we could just leave." Yang suggested, reminding them of the open door. As soon as she said that, the door closed behind them and with a click it locked, "Me & my big mouth…"
"Well, whoever's here is going to try and kill us so let's list off what we know so far." Weiss said,
"Yeah, it's dark, there's four bombs on each wall, something shooting at us and no way to escape." Igneous summed up as he got out Raging Soul and lit it on fire, "That's pretty much all we need. Turn on the lights, disable the bombs, destroy/kill whoever's shooting at us and get out of here." He then stood up, "Easy." And then he ran off,
"Fuck! IGNEOUS!" Skye shouted and went after him. Blizzard heard some mechanical noises as two sets of bullets started shooting at them,
"Guys! They're turrets!" Bliz called out as everyone got up, "MOVE!"
"Thanks for the info!" Igneous yelled as he got out his bow and grabbed a bomb arrow and fired at the general direction of the bullet stream. It exploded but the situation didn't get any better. Instead, it got worse as the turrets were going faster and getting close to shredding Igneous & Skye, "Not good!"
"Baka!" Luna cursed before activating her gauntlets, giving the RWBYs and Blizzard some light, "Fuck it. I'll try and get the turrets gone while you guys try and get rid of the bombs."
"I'll help." Blake said as she stepped forward. Luna nodded at her as they ran off to save Skye & Ig's asses,
"What do we do about the bombs?" Ruby asked, getting her game face on. Right now they had Ruby, Yang, Weiss & Blizzard as their bomb squad,
"Well, setting them on fire won't work so you're out Yang." Weiss said as she looked at everyone else, "Ruby would probably set them off."
"Hey!" Everyone just looked at her after she said that, "…Fine."
"That only leaves me & Weiss." Blizzard said as she started thinking. It took her a few seconds to figure out how to disable the bombs, "We freeze them."
"Huh?" Yang asked,
"I learnt on TV that if you freeze bombs, you can have another 15 minutes to escape. So I want Weiss with me since she can help me get to the bombs while you two find whoever is doing this the kick the shit out of him!"
"Language!" Weiss scolded as she whacked Blizzard in the back of the head, "Now, are we doing this Snowstorm or are you gonna let the bombs blow up." Bliz just sighed as she & Weiss ran to the first bomb,
"Okay, it's just you and me Rubes." Yang said as she looked at her sister, her eyes getting used to the darkness, "Let's go find this pe-" Suddenly, Ruby pushed Yang out of the way as bullets whizzed past them, "What the-"
"Yang, I don't think we have to search for this guy." Ruby said as she got out Crescent Rose. Yang quickly got up and set her hair on fire and activated Ember Cecilia as they both stared down at the person in front of them. The person only stared back as he/she got out a gun and reloaded.
It was going to be one hell of a lesson in survival.
(With Luna, Blake, Ig & Skye)
"You had to run in, Ig-kun!" Luna yelled as they ran around, trying to figure out a way to destroy the turrets,
"I didn't know there was more than one okay!" Ig yelled back as he rolled out of the way of more bullets,
"That was reckless! You could've died!" Blake scolded before shooting at one of the turrets. It had no effect,
"Less talking, MORE RUNNING!" Skye shouted as she ran around. Suddenly it hit her, "Luna! Shield me!"
"On it!" Luna called back as she kneeled down and turned her gauntlets into a large shield and started blocking her turret. Skye saw the bullets bouncing off Luna's shield so she ran behind it and started pumping up her Air Cannon, "What are you doing?" Luna asked, "My shield doesn't last forever!"
"Just a few more seconds!" Skye said as she started pumping the Air Cannon faster. Just as Luna's shield started reverting back into its original form, Skye's Air Cannon was ready and she fired, shooting herself into the air before she fired her Air Cannon again to get herself to the ground as quickly as she could, firing her Cannon once again to break her fall. She then used her Axe to destroy the turrets shooting at Luna before destroying the ones shooting at Blake & Igneous. Once she made sure all the turrets were destroyed, she called the others to meet her where she is,
"Th-Thanks." Ig thanked his teammate as he tried to catch his breath, only to get the air knock out of him by Luna,
"Don't you fucking do that again!" Luna growled as Ig slowly stood up,
"Okay, I deserved that." Ig groaned as he got up. He felt something different other than dirt so he set his sword on fire and check what it was. It was metal plate. Ig lifted it and saw wires in it. And from the looks of it, it was sabotaged, "Skye, I think you need to see this." The Switch-Sword Wielder moved out of the way and provided light while the Axe Wielder checked what Ig found,
"This must be connected to the lights." Skye muttered as she grabbed a blowtorch and some duct tape from the weapon repair kit she brought with her, "I can get this fixed but it might take some time. You guys try and help the others. Ig, Luna, one of you has to stay here and give me light so I can work."
"I'll stay." Luna said as she started flowing some electricity through her gauntlets, "You guys go find the others."
"Got it." Ig saluted before running off with Blake before stopping, "Wait, I'M SUPPOSED TO BE THE LEADER!"
"GO ALREADY!" Skye shouted as she started fixing the wires. Igneous & Blake jumped back a bit before going their separate ways.
(With Weiss & Bliz)
"Crap." Bliz muttered as she & Weiss looked at the bomb. It was really high on the wall and neither of them could jump that high. Weiss sighed before casting a glyph underneath the Ice Shooter, "Hey, what are yo-" Before Bliz could finish her sentence, Weiss activated the glyph and launched her high into the air. Blizzard didn't know what was happening but she knew she was high enough to freeze the bomb. She shot a few Bursts and froze the bomb before grabbing it and pulling it off before falling to the ground, "One down."
"Three to go." Weiss said as they both started making their way to the next bomb. This was repeated for Bomb 2 & 3 before they made it to the last bomb, "Blizzard, are you ready?" Weiss asked as she casted another glyph,
"Wait; let me check how much ice I have left." Bliz said as the glyph deactivated. Blizzard pulled out the bottle Igneous gave and opened it. She knew she was out of ice and wondered if some Dust might recharge it, "I wonder…"
"We don't have much time!" Weiss called out as she saw Ruby & Yang battling someone and losing badly. She quickly casted a glyph under Bliz's feet and set off. Blizzard wasn't ready as she was launched in the air as all her Ice Dust went everywhere. When she fell back to the ground, she was coughing after having ate some by accident. Before Weiss could check if she was okay, ice spikes started growing out of Blizzard as she started yelling in pain. Weiss watched in horror as Blizzard disappeared in the ice before it shattered, leaving only shards of ice, "No!" Weiss shouted before she found something on the ground. She gasped when she saw it was an empty Dust bottle. She knew that breathing in Dust was bad but this was just… inhuman. She wanted to run. To tell everyone that Blizzard died. How she… caused her death.
But that wasn't the case.
She was going to run but saw the ice left behind was starting to move. It started moving towards where Blizzard "died" and started forming into a rough shape of a human. Suddenly, it started cracking as the ice started falling off to reveal a fully healthy Blizzard. She wasn't injured or anything and her clothes somehow came with her. When all the ice finally fell off and melt, Bliz went to her knees as she started breathing heavily before getting up, "Ugh… what happened?" Before Weiss could even say anything, Bliz sneezed. Her powers reacted and large ice spike to grow from the ground launch her. Bliz thought it was Weiss so she just fired and disabled and grabbed the last bomb, "Well, that's done."
"Blizzard, are you… okay?" Weiss asked as she hesitantly touched Blizzard's shoulder,
"Yeah… why do you ask?" Bliz answered,
"Well, can you explain that?" Bliz raised an eyebrow as Weiss pointed at the ice spike behind her. She turned around and saw it and gaped in awe, "D-D-Did I, did I do that?" Blizzard muttered to herself as she summoned a snowflake in her hand. She noticed that the snowflake was larger and a bit fancier, "I guess my powers leveled up."
"No, you gained it from this." Weiss then held up the empty Dust bottle. Bliz quickly snatched it back, her eyes widening in realization. She smashed it on the ground and ran off, "Where are you going!?" She was about to say she was going to give her teammates more power but she saw that Igneous, Ruby, Blake & Yang fighting the mysterious person. Even though it was 4 against 1, they were still losing,
"To help the others fight! C'mon Weiss or else they're screwed!" Weiss nodded as she ran off at the direction of the fight.
(With everyone else)
"WHY! WON'T! YOU! DIE!" Yang shouted as she tried to punch the person, who was dodging and blocking every attack Yang threw. And Ruby's. And Ig's. And now Weiss' & Bliz's. The person was dodging everyone's desperate attempts at landing a hit on this person. Seriously, this person must be a Faunus or a gymnast because no one could or should bend that way.
Then the person started attacking.
He/She quickly knocked out Yang with a Shield he/she has, took down Weiss before she could react, slammed Blake into the ground, bashed Ig's head in and pushed Bliz away, leaving only Ruby to defend herself.
"So, uh… you wouldn't hit a 15 year old girl, would you?" Ruby said nervously. Ruby knew that the person in front of her just raised an eyebrow and looked at the other 15 year old girl on the ground groaning in pain, "Oh. Right." She muttered as she looked at Blizzard before turning Crescent Rose into its Sniper Rifle form and jumped back, 'Okay, my team is down and Luna & Skye are busy fixing the lights. I've been in better situations but I can do this. I just need to keep my distance.' Ruby thought as she used her Semblance to get some space between herself and the person. She started shooting blindly at the person but (for convenience I'm just going to refer the person as) it blocked the bullets with it's shield. Ruby quickly transformed her weapon back into a scythe and stabbed into the ground and started firing again. It didn't even flinch and started blocking against any bullet that came at it before charging at the young girl. Ruby started shooting as fast as her gun could shoot, but it would dodge or block all her bullets. Ruby pulled out her scythe out of the ground and went to jump away only for the figure to grab her foot and pull her back down. Just before the figure could hurt Ruby, someone tackled it down, causing the figure to throw away it's gun, and started beating on it. Ruby looked around and saw Skye working by blowtorch light and Ig & Bliz slowly getting up. When Luna was forced to get off the figure, Ruby jumped and tried to stab the person in the chest. The person rolled out of the way and picked it's gun and started firing at Luna & Ruby. They quickly started running away and got to their downed teammates. A quick shock to each of them woke all of them up, "This is impossible." Ruby managed to say between breaths,
"It isn't impossible." Blake said as she slowly got up, "Just really, really hard."
"Okay, whoever is here really wants us dead or a really tough teacher." Ig said as he cracked his back and grabbed his sword. He looked up and saw Skye coming back, "Are the lights coming back on?"
"They will after the power kicks in which usually takes a few minutes." Skye answered as she started pumping up her Air Cannon before looking at Luna, "Or a few seconds if we have a lightning rod."
"Well, that won't be happening because we don't have that much time." Blizzard told everyone as she pulled out the bombs and showed the timer, "We only have 2 minutes before everything blows up. And before you ask, is there any place we can throw away the bombs?"
"That means we have to take this guy down quick." Yang said as she cocked her shot-gauntlets,
"So, any plans?" Weiss asked as she went into her battle stance,
"Yeah." Luna answered as she cracked her knuckles, "Don't die."
"Sounds good to me." Ig said as he turned Raging Soul into its Buster Sword form. Bliz followed and got out Frozen Dreams before turning it into Frozen Nightmare, "So everyone ready?" Team IBLS & Team RWBY nodded, "Okay, CHARGE!" He then ran off,
"Wait! We sho-fuck it." Bliz said as she flared up her powers, "CHARGE!" Everyone gave out their own battle cry as they charged into the darkness. Igneous was able to pressure the figure long enough for the others to join in. Ruby was slicing at the shield before she switched with Weiss. Weiss was using all her Dust in hopes of shattering the shield before switching with Blake, who wrapped her ribbon around the shield arm and tried to pull it away before Yang stepped in and pulled it off. She tossed the shield to Ig as him and his team went in for their share of damage. Igneous bashed the figure with it's own shield before throwing it away, stunning it before he switched with Bliz. She went on to beat the figure down and disarming the person. Luna stepped in and started punching at the figure before a mini earthquake, causing the figure to stumble. Luna then bent down to charge the lights and let Skye us her as a stepping stone to get herself in the air. Skye fired her Air Cannon and launched herself forward in a buzzsaw motion before smashing her axe on the figure's head. Although it seemed that everyone barely did any damage to the figure, Igneous was going for the kill, his Semblance charged up and ready to go,
"Let's see if you have a soul!" He shouted as he went to punch the figure in the face, only for his fist to faze through and not cause any damage to the person's soul, 'Oh shit.' Ig thought as he dodged out of the way of a punch thrown by the figure and got out his bow and fired a few arrows. The figure dodged them all and ran up to Ig. Before Ig could do anything, the figure snapped his bow in half and punched him in the stomach. He coughed up some blood but it didn't stop him from kicking the person in the crotch, punching it in the chest a few times and kicked it to Ruby, who trapped the person by placing her scythe against the person's neck and prepared to fire a bullet while Ig recovered, grabbed the remains of his bow and wrapped the drawstring around the figure's neck and pulled on it.
It was over.
"Heh. Not a bad first lesson huh?" Ig said as he let go of what was his bow since Ruby had it covered, "Okay, now tell us who are or else I'll make you regret it." He then activated his Semblance and aimed it at the person's stomach, where the soul was,
"Huh? Are you that blind? You should've recognized me by now." The figure spoke, causing IBS & RY to gasp in shock and Weiss & Blake confused, "Well, better late than ever."
"Lights are on!" Luna called out as the lights above them started to flicker on, "Hey, why is everyone so quiet? We woooooonnnnn…." Luna trailed off as she saw the person who has been attacking them the whole time, "Kuso."
"Oh c'mon, do you really think I'll be cooped up back home doing nothing? You guys should know me better. Especially you Bliz."
"O-O.B!?" Bliz shouted out,
"That's right, now can you please stop threatening the life of your Advanced Combat teacher?"
Save Game… Quit!
Whew! Done! Well, I need a break! See ya next chapter!
