Ch 9 The Way To Make Our Home Safe

Day 100

13 days later, things are going as smoothly as it seems. Every day the girl's morals are up because we always have things to do every single day by Megumi-sensei idea or Yuki's Idea even they can be ridiculous.

In this 13 days I got to know more about Yuki and learn why Yuki, senpai is essential on this group even she has PTSD. Her personality alone is already great, she's a very energetic girl who can sometimes be overly optimistic and positive, as she always tries to see the best in others and things. She tries her best at everything, as the word "lose" doesn't exist in her dictionary. She is very bright and cheerful and is usually seen with a smile on her face. She is also childish, naive and an airhead, to which she often relies on others to help her. Due to this attitude, she has developed a very carefree and innocent personality and can often easily accept other people's faults.

Even Kurumi has stated that she almost never worries. There was even a day Yuki herself has said that it would be fine if they had manga series even if their food ran out but in a comical sense.

Yuki has a very understanding personality despite her naivety, and she is also a very caring person who will try to help others, often listening to their problems and comfort them. Her presence is also enough for others to boost their morale and to feel safe. She never doubts her friends: always believing in them and never leaving them alone, caring for them deeply. Yuki also often performs silly actions, something that Kurumi comments it being Yuki's "adult-like" act; though Yuki denies this. Although she has a childish personality, the other girls don't mind this, since her efforts have saved them various times since she was the one who gave them the feeling of warmth and cheerfulness when everything was so stressful. She is also very innocent and funny, as she is someone who brightens everyone's spirits.

Truth to be told, I don't have that kind of talent to brightness everyone spirits or personality and make all sort ideas that will everyone makes everyone happy.

There was a day she comforts me when I felt lonely because I miss a certain someone who had died long ago.

Definitely, I'll risk my life If it means to save her. Not in a romantic way but as close friends.

Because during that day she's the only who see through my sadness and made me happy. I owe her for that.

Moving on, It's afternoon and today is the day, will have a club meeting. It's a meeting I requested to Yuuri and Megumi-sensei. On this meeting I'll share about my plan to make our home safer, I come up with these plans a long time ago but I just want a rightful day to share it to everyone except Yuki.

That rightful day is today.

I told Megumi-sensei to keep Yuki away from this because I don't want her to know, and It will affect her since It's about the zombie.

So Megumi-sensei, brought her somewhere while I, Yuuri, Ruu and Kurumi are in the clubroom about to start the meeting.

Zach- "Everyone, may I have your attention please."

Zach- "Today I'll share my plan to make our home, even more, safer from the zombies."

Zach- "For now listen because I don't want interruption and I will not answer any question until I share my plan."

Kurumi- "I'm all ears senpai."

Yuuri- "You're in charge of the defense, after all, go ahead Zach."

Ruu- "Ruu, is ready to listen Nii-san."

I start feeling confident about myself and happy that everyone is on the same page.

Zach- "Good, alright let's get started.

I went to the board and start writing things on it.

Zach- "We all know that the zombies retain some memories about their human day-to-day lives, which is why zombie student from this school come back after the next day when they go somewhere else.

Zach- "And as you all notice, the zombie on this school area are only students, some teachers but very rarely of them come back to this school."

Zach- "So here's my plans."

Zach- "I got 2 so listen carefully if you don't want to misunderstood later."

Zach- "Plan A, we are not extending the safe zone to the first floor."

Zach- "Although will fortify the defense on the stairs that lead up to the second floor, such as using all the desk to create an obstacle to prevent the zombie to go up the stairs permanently and in the same time our access to the first floor will be blocked."

Zach- "But that would require all of us to work together to create an obstacle like that which is no problem because there are some of the days there aren't any zombies and everyone will cooperate."

I flip the board and start writing on the other side because we're moving to plan B.

Zach- "Now for Plan B, we're gonna kill all the zombie students that come to this school. Which means every single one of them, including teachers."

Zach- "But here's the catch, If we kill all of them I ensure you that there be less zombie on the area and a high low chance a horde will form and attack the school."

Zach- "Not only that, we can extend out the safe zone to the first floor with no problem since we clear out all the zombie students."

Zach- "We can also freely go outside since there aren't zombie student roaming around the area because we kill them all."

Zach- "There are more possibilities once we successfully finish the plan."

Zach- "The drawback with this plan is, the amount of time it will take and since each day some of the zombie student return and some won't."

Zach- "This is also very risky because there's a chance, I or Kurumi will lose our lives fighting the zombies."

Zach- "Unless, if we used that."

Zach- That is all, what do you guys think of my plans."

Kurumi rises her hand and I made a sign to make her say what question she has.

Kurumi- "Senpai, what do you mean, if we used that?"

Zach- "It's a method, only I and Ruu knows."

Zach- "I'll demonstrate it to you all later."

Kurumi- "Okay…but can we really kill all the zombie students that come to this school"

Zach- "Well yeah, each day about 2 to 10 zombie student comes back to this school, which is enough for us to handle carefully"

Zach- "But there will be a day they won't be going anywhere and a day hordes of them will come swarming in the school entrance."

Zach- "Yuuri, you might know what date that is."

Kurumi- "Graduation day. The first day of April."

Zach- "Bingo, our goal as a student is to graduate. It makes perfect sense why all of the zombie students will go back to that certain date."

Zach- "If that day comes and we're still sitting ducks here and didn't do anything. We're all gonna die."

Everyone was silent, I Immediately think of something to change the mood.

Zach- "But we still got plenty of time for that to happen, so don't worry too much."

Once I know everyone isn't worried about anything I continue my talk.

Zach- "Anyway, I'll give you guys time to think over this before bed."

Zach- "Anymore question, before we end this meeting?"

Yuuri- "I have one."

She said as she rose her hand.

Zach- "Ask away."

Yuuri- "Why didn't you let the two know about the plan."

Zach- "Ah I'll mention this to Megumi-sensei later but not for Yuki."

Zach- "The reason for that is I don't want her to know about this plan exist."

Zach- "Because both of them deals with Zombies which the cause of her PTSD."

Zach- "If she knows this, I just have a bad feeling it would affect her in some way."

Both of them looked at each other and smile.

Yuuri- "Is that so~"

Kurumi- "It's nice we worried over a senpai like her."

I also smile since they understand.

Zach- "Yeah, I'm glad I have understandable friends."

Kurumi- "Anyhow how did you come out a plan like that?"

Zach- "Hm? Well by observing the area and tons of experience in the city also I'm quite knowledgeable."

Yuuri- "Impressive, don't you think Kurumi."

Yuuri- "I would never come out a plan like this even I have to think harder enough."

Kurumi- "Really? Man, senpai is amazing."

Ruu- "Nii-san is always amazing."

I feel proud of myself.

Zach- "Heh, told you guys I won't let you down."

Then I looked at Ruu.

Zach- "Ruu, I know you are close to Yuki but keep this a secret for her okay?"

Ruu- "Ruu lips are sealed."

Zach- "Thanks."

I sit down on a chair.

Zach- "Well that's the end of that meeting, Yuuri could you cook us lunch"

Yuuri- "Not unless you help me together with Ruu."

Zach- "You're such a tease, fine I'll help."

Kurumi stood up from her chair and went to open the sliding door.

Kurumi- "I'll go check what those two are doing."

Yuuri- "Be sure to come back with them once It's lunchtime."

Kurumi- "Sure, sure~ then I'll be right back."

And she left.

I grab two emergency ration and can't decide on one, so I went to Ruu and let her decided.

Zach- "Chilly or Curry."

Ruu- "Chilly."

Zach- "Highfive!"

We high five.

Yuuri- "I actually wanted Curry but since you two wanted it, I guess will go chilly for lunch today."

Zach- "High five again Ruu!"

Ruu- "Yay~".

Yuuri giggles of how happy we are.

Yuuri- "Ehehe, oh you guys~"

Later that day.

It's evening and I was going down the stairs to the second floor and to the library. Beside me is Kurumi because she wanted to tag along with me.

Zach- "You're really don't need to accompany me Kurumi."

She shakes her head.

Kurumi- "No senpai, I was actually going to the library to get something too."

Zach- "..."

I knew what she said was a lie by observing a little but instead of telling her why she lied I chuckle.

Zach- "Haha, alright."

Kurumi just smiles and ask me a question afterward.

Kurumi- "By the way, what are you going to get on the library?"

Zach- "Some books to read to kill time with."

Kurumi- "Ehh, you fed up with the clubs activities already?"

Zach- "Not really, It's just there's someday I wanted to read books alone on my favorite spot at the rooftop while relaxing."

Kurumi- "Ohhh."

Zach- "What about you Kurumi, what are you actually going to get on the library?"

She was slightly surprised to hear that and start thinking for some reason.

I happily waited for her answer.

Kurumi- "I-I was going to get a book too!"

Zach- "Hmm."

I smug in response.

Kurumi- "W-Why are you making that face?"

Zach- "Hehe, It's nothing."

Zach- "It's just sometimes you have a very girlish side on you, which makes me think you can be very cute at given time. "

Kurumi- "E-Eh?"

She began to blushed while being flustered at the same time.

Zach- "Haha, sorry If that was so sudden. Just wanna let that out of my mind."

Kurumi- "N-No, It's fine…"

She said while blushing.

Zach- "I see, well let keep on going."

Kurumi- "Mm…"

Zach- "(I did it again, didn't I…)"

I'm not dense, for a couple of the days I began to notice all girls affection towards me has changed. It's like for some reason my action or words is slowly making them like me.

I do want to stop rising their affection but I don't want to act rude or be horrible to lower their affection.

I guess the only way is to control my action and words to postpone their affection.

I don't want love to distract me

Even were living a stable life right now because I know, someday something very bad will happen to us and I need 100% of focus without distraction such as love, to think which is the best way to solve the solution.

Kurumi- "Senpai?"

I notice her calling out to me.

Zach- "Hm? What is it Kurumi."

Kurumi- "You seems to be in deep thought, so I was wondering what were you thinking off."

Zach- "Ohh, just the future."

This brought me an idea to speak with Kurumi.

Zach- "Say Kurumi, what are you going to do once this is over?"

She started to to think.

Kurumi- "Hmm, well firstly I need to graduate and find a job, I think."

Zach- "!"

I got an idea to tease her with.

Zach- "Construction worker would be perfect for you since you'll be with your shovel all the time."

Kurumi- "Don't sell me so short!"

She got angry and yelled at me, I was happily shocked by this.

Zach- "Haha, kidding. I know with the recession, I hear they won't be hiring many women."

Zach- "But I highly think, it will change since there's so much damage with the city and so forth."

Kurumi- "No, listen!"

Then she starts blushing.

Zach- "There are other options, like…"

Zach- "(Shit, did I went too far and trigger another affection flag?!)"

I have a feeling I did because how she's acting right now.

Kurumi- "J-Job hunting forever, or getting m-married…"

She said as she gaze at me looking embarrassed by what she just said.

Shocked I began to think.

Zach- "(Oh, my god. Is this a confession?! It must be a confession. Fuck I need to do something or else I'll end up rising her affection even more.)"

Then I got an idea.

I pretend to be dense and act like Yuki.

Zach- "Married?"

Zach- "To your shovel?"

She got frustrated and said.

Kurumi- "Why does it keep going back to that?!"

She starts punching my shoulder, as I endure it.

At least I stop rising her affection from doing that.

It's bedtime, and I'm having a hard time sleeping. So I went to the club room and sit on a chair while drinking some green tea that I just recently made.

Let me explain, last time our club room was the bedroom but it's different now. The bedroom is moved to the next room of the club. So that way we don't have to move stuff anymore to make space for us to sleep.

From now on the clubroom will be our kitchen and a lounge for us all. While the next room will be our bedroom.

*Door slides*

The door open and it's Megumi-sensei.

I smirk.

Zach- "Were you worried about me Megumi-sensei~?"

Megumi- "Of course I do, because whatever you're out of the bed you do something dangerous or ridiculous."

I chuckled while I take a sip of my tea.

Zach- "You're too harsh Megumi-sensei, I'm just drinking green tea right here."

Megumi- "Hmpm, like I'll believe that."

Zach- "How about you calm down and take a seat. Let's enjoy some tea together."

Megumi- "...Alright."

Zach- "(Easy~)"

She sits on the other side of the table, as I stood up and went to get some tea for her.

Zach- "Here you go."

Megumi- "T-Thanks."

She gently grabs it from my hand as I went back to my sit.

I told her why I'm here.

Zach- "Megumi-sensei, the truth is I'm having a hard time sleeping."

Zach- "Which is why I'm here, drinking tea while thinking about tomorrow."

Megumi- "Tomorrow...do you really want to do it tomorrow?"

Before bed Megumi-sensei, Yuuri, Kurumi, and Ruu have finally decided which plan to proceed. All of them choose plan B.

That means tomorrow will start clearing the zombies on the first floor and on the school campus.

Zach- "Yeah, the early we start, the sooner we finished, the better."

Megumi- "But...what if something horrible will happen to you three."

The is how will start plan B. First Megumi-sensei, Yuuri and Yuki will start preparing the wooden planks on the second floor near the stair that leads to the first floor.

While I, Kurumi and Ruu will clear all the zombies that are on the first floor and school campus.

I don't know how many zombies will be on the campus because It can be really random. Sometimes there's around 60 of them on the campus, sometimes there's none.

Anyway once all zombies are clear out from the building and on the campus, will start building a defense on the school entrance and fortify it with wooden planks.

When that's finished, the plan continues by us three killing the zombie students every single day till there's none of them left.

Zach- "...Don't worry, I won't let anything like that to happen to us."

Zach- "But If something horrible did happen then I will not let the two get involved with it but only me instead."

Megumi- "..."

Megumi-sensei looks concerned and said.

Megumi- "Zach, please don't do anything that would be risking your life."

Megumi- "If something did happened to you…, especially you...I...I don't think I could live anymore because of the guilt."

I stood up and went by her side.

She looks up to me as I pat her shoulder.

Zach- "I don't plan on dying. So trust me."

She put her hand on top of my hand that is on her shoulder and said.

Megumi- "I do trust you and I'll pray for your safety and the girls tomorrow."

Megumi- "But promise me to be careful okay?"

I simply smile and said.

Zach- "I promise."

And I let go her shoulder as she lets go my hand.

Zach- "*Yawn*...Well, let's go back to sleep."

Megumi- "Yes, lets."
