Rain drops poured down the window in Merlin's room as snow hit it. With barely any light shining through the window, Hailey and I sat across from each other on the floor. Neither of us spoke, I looked down at the stone floor while she twirled some of her bright golden hair. I stood up and turned to look out the small window, my back now facing Hailey. I heard her sigh and I couldn't hold back my anger anymore. I smashed my hand against the stone framing of the window, the skin going down the side of my hand and wrist cracked open and some of my blood dripped onto the floor.

"All of them?!" I demanded.

"Lilliah, listen I'll be okay-"

"That's beside the point Hailey! Every last member of the royal family is gone but you?! What happened?!"

"The people were anxious, my father was ill, and Kiana was also sick. They both died while we were gone. Glenwood came here in anger that we hadn't gotten there in time. That's why she came here and attacked. I'm sorry that I-"

"Hailey!" she flinched and looked up at me, her eyes were starting to fill with tears and I saw the usual glow of their golden base fade. "You've done nothing but try to help your people. That's that. On the other note…" I felt my voice die off. I still wasn't able to accept Hailey's fate.

"I understand Lilliah...And it's why I am leaving you here in Camelot." I looked at Hailey, shocked and worried about where this was heading. "You need to stay here where you belong, and you also need to stay where you are needed."

"Hailey, if I may interject, I believe that you may need me more than they do. Especially since you contracted the disease! You can't expect me to idly sit by and watch your kingdom, the kingdom I've spent most of my life in, die off!"

"LILLIAH!" Hailey snapped as she stood up and stared at me from across the room. I was still slightly taller than her so she looked up, tears streaking down her cheeks. "Do you not think I have my reasons for you to stay here rather than come back with me?! Do you not think that I am only doing what is best for my kingdom?! I know the cure now! And I can't let you come to share the same fate as the rest of us!"

I looked at Hailey and saw the desperation in her eyes before she turned and left the room, slamming the door behind her. I felt myself standing there like a fool with my mouth open, in absolute awe by what just occurred. Grabbing my dagger from the table and strapping it to my thigh, I swung the door open and tried to race out, but I was blocked by two pairs of arms. Merlin and Arthur both stood at the door and held me back. Fighting against their grips, I tried to force myself to follow Hailey.

"Lilliah, please! It's what she wants!" Merlin pleaded to me as he held me back with one arm around my waist, the other around my shoulders.

I felt tears starting to trail down my face and I smashed Merlin's foot with my own and then elbowed Arthur in the gut. Tearing free of their grips, my feet seemingly flew to where Hailey's chambers were. Swinging the door open, I pushed myself inside and she wasn't there. I turned on my heel and started for the main door. The one that lead outside. Arthur stood opposite to me and blocked the path until I slid underneath him, skidding between his legs and then charging for the door again. I pushed the doors open and saw only the townsfolk who had seem Hailey's departure.

Letting out a whistle, I turned my head and saw my paint racing towards the steps. People moved out of the way as quickly as they could while I mounted myself and sent her forward. It was too late though. Once I reached the gate, it had closed. Hailey sat mounted on her horse, her green cloak draped around her shoulders, outlining the golden leggings and long-sleeved shirt she was wearing. Her face was slightly redder than normal as tears streamed down her cheeks. I sat on my paint and looked at her before I looked directly in her eyes and saw a faint glimmer of the old sparkle I remembered. Although, now her eyes had green specks throughout the gold. She seemed older, wiser now than she had when we had first ridden through the gates. Then, she broke off from me. She closed her eyes, bowed her head, turned her horse, and then set off going a full gallop.

I gritted my teeth as I heard two sets of horse hooves clotting towards me. I closed my eyes and felt my blood start to boil before I whipped my horse around, making it barral towards the training grounds. She had to have leapt over at least 3 people in order to not hurt anyone. Once I reached the grounds, I jumped down and grabbed my sword from it's place along the wall. Arthur had had it set up specifically for my sword and for no one else to use or touch. I found a dummy and quickly had my way with it. I swung my sword from the bottom right at a diagonal angle so that I sliced from the dummy's lower stomach to part of his head. I then proceeded to feint around to its left side and make a semi-"z" shape across its back, leaning into a front flip over it and digging the sword into it's right shoulder, slicing in so that the head fell into two halfs. I landed lightly and started to spin, skidding myself to a halt when I saw Merlin standing in front of the dummy, a shield in his hand. My sword clashed into his shield and sound rang out around us.

I stared at Merlin in shock and panted heavily, my chest rising and falling quicker with each breath. I felt my sword hit the ground and slide from my hand before I sank to my knees into his arms. He had dropped the shield and held me close to him, burying my head in his shoulder. Tears seemingly wouldn't stop flowing from my eyes while I sobbed into his shoulder. My whole body began to shake with what I initially took as anger, but realized how much this had hurt me. Merlin rested a hand on my head, untangling the mass of white hair that swirled around my head. He squeezed me closer to him, pressing my head into his shoulder and just pulling me closer to him.

"Lilliah…" he began. "I...I'm so sorry…"

I shook my head and pulled myself up a bit, prying myself from his arms. "Merlin, there's nothing you could've done that would've changed anything. It would've eventually come to this."

He let out a sigh and looked at me. "Arthur and I agree that you can definitely stay here. He also agreed that for the time being you can have a bit of grieving time-"

"I don't need grieving time!" I cut him off sharply. "I just need Hailey to stay safe."

"Well isn't that what she's doing? Curing the sickness?"

"I just wish there was another way rather than killing all of those with it…" I muttered. "Including herself…"
