Spencer's POV
I had watched Mrs. Field slowly crumble in front me, while Hanna supported her body down toward the chairs they were sitting on. You would have thought these waiting rooms could have developed a system to comfort friends and family of the patients by now, I thought to myself. These were just one of the sarcastic remarks my mind played on, pushing myself to distraction. When I thought it wasn't working, I heard the two white hospital doors give way, having two men in police uniforms entering from the lobby. It was the Rosewood PD, "Here comes the young and the finest…" I found myself talking out loud.
Hanna slowly sat up and carefully let go of her embrace from Mrs. Fields. At the corner of her eye, a tear slowly tricked down, but the arch of her index finger wiped it away before it came streaming down her face. Her eyes slowly darted towards the door, while at the same time, Mrs. Fields began to rise from her seat.
I watched as the two men began to walk up to Mrs. Fields, "Hi Pam, how are you feeling?", one of the officers asked.
I forgot that Mrs. Fields works in the police department, if anything I would just be weirded out from all the candid conversations.
"Fine, fine. Um, do you have any news from my report?" Mrs. Fields hastily replied.
The two officers glanced at each other before one of them nodded and faced Mrs. Fields again. It was the younger and shorter man that hasn't spoken anything yet since they got here. He placed his left palm gently around her right shoulder, then asking her if she wanted to continue moving on to a more private area. Mrs. Fields looked around and met our eyes as it span across the room, until it met with Mr. Fields' eyes who was standing by the lobby doors, fumbling with his military fatigue hat along his fingers. I didn't even hear him come in, my mind thinking in a haze. Mrs. Fields nodded her head to her husband, and I couldn't help but wonder to myself to what they were thinking about.
"This is fine, thank you." While Mr. Fields walked towards the three, then quietly standing next to his wife, waiting to hear what the officer had to say.
