Dedicated to MafiaAngel even though his/her advice was very annoying.

Chapter Nine

"I had a great time," I said in a soft voice. "So did I," he told me. He leaned in. Was he going to kiss me? He's going to kiss me! I'm going to be kissed! He hugged me. "Goodnight," he said. "Goodnight," I said, starting to go inside. But I stopped and turned around, "Why won't you kiss me?" I asked. "Is it because of my face? Are you grossed out or something?" I asked. "What? No!" he said, looking horrified, "I just thought you wouldn't want to…" he said. "Why?" I asked. "I know what happened to you," he said. Suddenly I was scared. Normally I would have stopped talking, turned around, and gone inside. Instead I said, "So what? Bad things happened to me, sure, but I'm still a sixteen year old girl. A sixteen year old girl who's never been kissed," I said. My hand instantly went to my wrist. I can't believe I just said that. Why did I say that? I shouldn't have said that. That was stupid. I am so stupid. Suddenly his lips were on mine.

I actually had been kissed before. When I was thirteen Rebecca took me to her friend's birthday party. They were all playing spin the bottle and Becca told me to join in. All of her friends were looking at each other at looking at me, giving me grossed out looks. I told her no, but she kept insisting and finally I joined in. When it was my turn I spun the bottle around and around until it finally stopped. Even through my black sunglasses I could tell it had landed on Allen Keller, the hottest boy in my neighborhood. He looked at his friends and shrugged then got up on his knees and kissed me. Just because a boy is hot doesn't mean he is a good kisser. The boy shoved his tongue down my throat and got spit all down my chin. It was like he was trying to eat my face. Now Seth, he was a good kisser. A really good kisser. He pulled away and looked down at me with laughing eyes, "See you later," he whispered, turning around and walking back to his car. He waved goodbye before driving off.

I pulled out my phone and quickly dialed Sienna's phone number. I've always had trouble making friends, but with Sienna it was easy. It was like we had known each other forever, "Riley? What's up?" she asked. "Seth just kissed me," I said. "Oh my… seriously? That's awesome!" she said with a laugh. We talked for a little while before agreeing to meet up at Lee's later. I hung up and went inside. Becca was splayed out on the couch watching Percy Jackson and throwing popcorn at the scree, "This movie is nothing like the book! I hate it so much! But I love you Logan. But I hate this movie!" she screamed throwing a fistful of popcorn at the screen. "Um…I'm home?" I said uncertainly. She jumped up and smiled, "How was the date?" she asked. "Seth kissed me," I said with a smile. Her eyes went as wide as saucers and she ran over and hugged me, "OMG this is your first kiss! Not counting Allen of course," she said. I smiled, "Of course."

Becca pulled me over to couch and showed me her phone. "That Collin kid from Emily's has called me seven times. Seven. Times. The kids like fifteen," she said shaking her head at the phone. "Oh yeah Seth mentioned him having a crush on you," I told her. "Poor kid. He's just put of diapers," she said to the phone. "You know Becks, Collin may be fifteen but he looks a hell of a lot older," I told her. She shook her head and laughed, "I'm turning eighteen in a month! That would basically be robbing the cradle. Do you want me to steal a child's innocence?" she asked. "He's turning sixteen soon. Which I am ninety percent sure is the legal age of consent," I said. "Ok. So no. I'm going to stick with Lerman for now," she said, turning to look at the TV. "I hate this movie," she said herself. I patted her on the shoulder, "Ok then," I said, going up to my room.

I knew something wasn't right with Seth. He didn't act like a normal boy and I was determined to figure out what it was. So what if I was being paranoid? I might be right. Of course the only bad thing I got on Seth was that he and his friends were werewolves. Not just werewolves, of course, werewolves that kill vampires. Very likely.

….

"So how was the kiss?" Sienna asked.

"Heaven times ten thousand, but that's not what I wanted to talk to you about."

Sienna raised an eyebrow, "What then?" she asked.

"Something about Seth is… different I guess," I told her. It was strange, I didn't know what exactly was different about him and I didn't feel like it was necessarily bad but I knew something was wrong. Something with him and his friends.

Sienna bit her lip and started tapping her fingers on the table, "Different as in scary different or…?" she said, looking at me expectantly.

I sighed, "Just different, and I want to know what's it about him that's different," I said.

Sienna nodded and then a look of excitement flashed across her face, "Okay, here's what we're going to do," she said and I gave her a look, "No, no just listen to me. We are going to go undercover." I snorted and she shook her head, "No, I'm serious. You said he hangs out at his friend Emily's a lot, right?" she asked and I nodded. "We are going to go to Emily's and have a stake out."

I laughed, "A stake out? This is real life Sienna, not one of your mystery books," I told her. A stake out? It seemed wrong, like I didn't trust him. Of course, I didn't trust him but that's not the point. When I thought about it I noticed that I have known Seth longer then I had known Sienna, yet I trusted her more than him. I've always had trust issues, but I seemed to have zero when it came to Sienna. Seth is my boyfriend for crying out loud! I should be more trusting! But there is something he's not telling me…

"Riley, listen to me. A. I've always wanted to do a stake out. B. Doing a stake out sounds awesome. C. We could totally find out what's wrong with Seth," Sienna reasoned.

I smiled, "Alright. Fine. Stake out it is. But the most we're going to find is Seth and his friends eat like pigs. No, wait. I knew that already." Sienna rolled her eyes and told me she was going to drop by my house at five and we were going to go on this amazing, fantastic stake out.

….

"So this is fun," Sienna said happily peering out of the bushes. I couldn't stop laughing when she appeared at me house decked out completely in black. I'd stopped laughing about it about half an hour into our little stake out.

"Oh yeah. This is a party," I said. I was leaning up against the bushes debating on taking nap when Sienna whisper-yelled, "Christ!" causing me to turn around and peek through the hole in the bushes along with her. God, I felt like such a paranoid freak. When I looked through the bushes I knew exactly why Sienna had freaked out. Standing right in front of Emily's house was a huge wolf almost exactly like the one I'd seen in my backyard, except this one was brown getting darker around the face. Sienna and I shared a look before turning back to look at it.

Then something crazy happened.

The wolf changed. It just changed. Right into Jared Cameron.
