Okay, here is the next chapter, we are officially onto cannon. Thanks to Yoshtar for all his help. I shall be using huskystarcraft vid's for reverence's now that I am onto game missions, I am not him, but on the very slight chance that he is reading this, You are an epic person, keep making youtube Vid's!

Chapter 10
"We have been surrounded" The High Templar warned. Everyone, even Aldaris, banded together to deal with the Zerg threat knowing that trying to fight them and each other would be utter suicide. A few Zergling's had come from the west and made it within the perimeters of the base but it was only a farce something to show that they were no longer alone and not an official attack. Kerrigan wanted to flaunt her power it seemed. Once the first wave was dealt with, Jim took a few Terrains along with Protoss Zealots and Dragoons with him as he scouted to the south west trying to see just how dire the situation was and how surrounded they were, while the Executor strengthened the defences with cannons and more warp gates, while building more drones to mine gas and minerals to keep their supplies steady.
Jim came back a little worse for wear with bad news, he had found an entire base had been set up where he was scouting and they were sure to experience more attacks from that direction. Tassadar then came up idea to scout without sacrificing precious soldiers, he made Hallucinations of Jimmy on his Vulture that he then sent back down the path that the Executor and Aldaris had their ship's stationed, cloaked so that they wouldn't be discovered and destroyed by the Zerg. They were quickly dispatched by the numerous amounts of Zergling's and Hydralisk's that were now waiting for them on the path. But even then they were not given a reprieve, the cannons that Executor had built were under attack by Mutalisk's and Hydras, they were quickly defended by the Zealots and a High Templar.
After the skirmish, two High Templar merged together to form an Archon, it was strangely beautiful to Lizzy how they became a controlled fireball of pure blue energy. When they, or it now she couldn't be sure, finally emerged from its cocoon of energy the first thing it said was 'Power Overwhelming!' It was a cool catchphrase. She noticed something out of the corner of her eye, it was the Executor, the one that came with Aldaris, and he was staring right at Lizzy. She had no way of knowing exactly if it was with ill intent or know, but her instincts told her that he was only looking at her as if she was a puzzle, something to figure out.
Having made a quick decision, the Executor silently gave more orders for more Pylons to be warped in before he strode to where the girl was sitting within the Terrain mini base. Lizzy had been sitting on a supply crate and promptly swung herself backwards, planting her hands on the top of the crate before swinging the rest of her body upwards till she was doing a hand stand before letting her legs fall to the ground so she was on the other side of the crate looking at the advancing Protoss.
When the Executor finally came to stand in front of the crate he continued to stare at the girl. Didn't this guy ever blink? Lizzy thought to herself as she returned the Protoss' stare with a cautious one of her own.
He gestured to her as if to ask why she was using the crate as a barrier.
"It's because I don't trust you. No offence, but you were ordered to execute me." She told him as she prepared to run if necessary. Seeing that she was preparing to bolt the Protoss' only response was to hold up his hands in the 'I mean no ill will' gesture.
Before they were able to continue their one sided conversation, more Zerg were announced to be rushing toward the base from the south and the Executor returned his concentration to ordering and organizing the troops in defence. They all decided that it was much too dangerous to stay in the make shift base so they would now have to make a run for the ships. The Zealots were in front pushing forward with their Psi Blades and slicing any Zerg within reach, while the Archons were in the middle to attack any flying Mutalisk's and the terrains were in the back to provide support when necessary. Lizzy ran with the Protoss but was having trouble keeping up, until she felt something hook her waist and pull her upwards. Jim had seen that the kid was struggling and pulled her onto his Vulture, seating her in front where she was less likely to fall off.
"Hang on kid, this is going to get rough." He yelled over the roar of the engine.
The Archons made quick work of the Mutalisk's and the High Templars with their Psi Storm were able to decimate most anything, though at a high energy cost.
The queens were the biggest problem to the group. They quickly flew in and strayed them with green sticky goo that slowed everyone that got any on them before they flew off again. They never stayed long enough for the Archons or Dragoons to kill them. The Zealots were forced to slice off as much of the sticky resin as they could so they could move on.
They came to an area filled with creep and the Protoss were slowed a little as the Creep nearly glued itself to their boots as the Protoss weren't evolved in such a way so as to move quickly over the creep. But with their leg enhancements they were able to power through it. When they destroyed the base with the Terrain grenades and Psi Storms they were at the home straight. It was just a dead sprint to the finish where the ships were.
But the Zerg were not going to make it easy for them.
The Protoss were quickly rushing into the newly uncloaked ships, with the Marines shooting anything that came within range. Lizzy saw a Hydralisk preparing to shoot its spines at Aldaris, and knowing that if he died most of the Protoss fleet would be in disarray, she leapt off the bike (Much to Jimmy's dismay) and landed on the Zerg's head digging her claws into it to anchor herself to it and proceeded to be swung around as it attempted to throw her off. Once Aldaris was safely on the ship she let go of its head and flew through the air and not able to right herself in time landed hard on the ground, rolling along the floor before she was hefted up by her waist by Tassadar and carried to the ship. The duo were the last to board and the ship took off with them now on board.
Once they were safely up in the air where the Protoss Command ship 'Gantrithor' maintained a low orbit over the planet, Tassadar turned to the Executor. "You have my thanks, Executor. Now lets find Zeratul and speed our way home.
When they were no longer in danger of an attack from the Zerg, Aldaris called for a meeting, Lizzy and Jim were only able to over hear the conversation as the 'Hyperion' was still a way a-ways from them.
"Executor, by following Tassadar and attempting to rescue the Dark Templar, you have openly defied the will of the Conclave." He told the Protoss, a hard look in his eye "Abandon this mad scheme now and the Conclave may yet show you mercy."
Tassadar jumped in "Don't let him control you, Executor. The Judicator have long since steered the actions of the Templar to their own ends! It's time we acted of our own accord, to which they now call us heretics."
"Ah Tassadar have you fallen so far? To think you were our brightest hope; our most beloved son. Now you are everything that we are not. You are lost to us. Not only have you damned yourself, but you have damned those who have followed you."
At the last remark, the Templar bristled and stood to his full height, anger radiating off him as well as minuscule amounts of psi energy "Such is the price for our race's salvation, Judicator! I have been here with the dark Templar, these past few months. While I helped them in their fight against the Zerg, I learnt many of their secrets from their Prelate, Zeratul." He had managed to calm himself at this point and continued his explanation "Apparently. The energies which empower the Dark Templar also course through the Overmind and its Cerebrates."
"The same Cerebrate which you told us to destroy. Your advice was useless, for the creature was reincarnated before our very eyes!" The Judicator responded with scorn in his voice.
"Unfortunately, yes. Your attack on the Cerebrates failed because the energies you wield are useless when used directly against the Overmind and its Cerebrates. Only the Dark Templar's power can truly harm the Zerg. That is why we must rescue Zeratul and return him to Aiur!"
The Executor looked directly at the Templar, and nodded to him.
"You were warned, Executor. The Conclave will not me pleased." And with that the Judicator left, stomping his way out the door. The remaining Protoss watched his retreating form with something akin to regret, Tassadar knew that in his heart he was right, that for the Overmind to be stopped, the Dark Templar's were needed. The Executor who was only recently appointed to his position, was saddened to have failed his superiors so soon.
A short time after the Aldaris fiasco, the Hyperion arrived to take the Captain and all the Marines back. Lizzy would have been lying if she said that she wasn't happy to be away from the Protoss and back with the people on the Hyperion. It was strange to say, but she felt more at home on the cramped metal battlecruiser then she did back on her home planet. Maybe it had something to do with the people…
Before leaving, Jim had a few words with Tassadar "We'll be taking our leave now, but don't think this is the last we'll see of each other. If you need anything, make sure to send a transmission, we won't be leaving the system that soon anyway."
Now back on board, Lizzy headed straight to the little room she called her own and practically threw herself onto the bed. She was exhausted from running away from the Zerg and Kerrigan.
It didn't take long for her to fall into a comfortable sleep.
Too bad that her comfortable sleep didn't last more than a few hours. A red light kept flashing in her eyes that she was able to see even while they were closed. Accepting that she was no longer going to get any rest, Lizzy tore herself away from the warm bed (she was still in her clothes from earlier having been too tired and last to change) and opened the door glaring at the offending flashing red light that was even flashing outside and along the corridor's, she made her way to the command centre where she found Jimmy and Matt.
"What is it?" She heard Jim ask Matt as he turned to look at the online screen showing what appeared to be a broken space shuttle drifting listlessly in the vacuum of space.
"Well sir, we found this on our radar. It says that there three life-sign's on board and that their engines are malfunctioning. What would you like us to do, Commander?" The ever vigilant Matt responded.
The leader of Raynor's Raiders put a hand to his chin while he deliberated. He had no way of knowing if these people were friendly or not, or even if they were part of the Empire and Mengsk's men. On the other hand, he was never one to leave people stranded.
"Fine," He sighed, having made up his mind "Bring them aboard, but I want armed men ready in case they turn out to be non friendlies."
When the shuttle was brought on board by two wraiths who used grappling hooks to drag it toward the ships docking bay, there was a team of armed marines waiting as a precaution. Jim, Matt, Lizzy and even Rory Swann was there. The doors to the shuttle opened and within was… nothing. It was completely empty.
"You sure the scanners picked up like-sign's, Matt?" Jim questioned as he wandered into the empty shuttle.
"Positive sir." Matt replied, looking over a tablet with the information in his hand. "It must have been a bad scan, we'll have to look back over the equipment. The shuttle probably jettisoned by accident and floated through space."
Everyone that had gathered was disappointed. They were hoping for some action at least a few people that were crazy and would at least need to be tasered to unconsciousness. After the deflation the masses dissipated, Lizzy ended up being corralled by Swann to help him work on some machinery, she was only there to lift the thing so he could fix the electrics underneath. Apparently all the lifting equipment was being used.
"So, why do you think the equipment failed?" She asked as one hand was holding the large piece of metal up. They were the only ones in the entire room and it caused her voice to echo a bit.
"I can't really say, princess. Hand me that thing by your foot." Swann's voice was muffled from being under the machine. "I'd have to take a look at the thing to get a clear idea, but for some reason, they won't let me work on the ship…. Something about how I took important things from the Command Centre's comm links and navigation. Like that stuff is really needed in a ship."
"All of this is giving me a headache…" Lizzy complained, as she rubbed her temples with her free hand. Her head really did hurt, but it reminded her of the first time the Zerg caught her back before all of this had happened, back when she was still human.
"Don't be getting distracted now with me under a few tonne of metal." Swann warned. "And... Done." He pulled himself away from the machine and stood up admiring his work as Lizzy put the piece down. "Now that is a good day's work, if I do…. say so…. myself…" He barely finished before he fell to the floor asleep.
Lizzy rushed to his side and tried to shake him back to consciousness, then her head nearly exploded with pain, it felt like it was going to crack open like an egg. She knew this was an attack from someone with psionic powers and looked around for the culprit, her eyes darting back and forward. Suddenly her instincts kicked in and she brought her hand up to catch the butt end of a high calibre rifle. Seeing that their attack was no longer secrete the attacker uncloaked, it was an Empire controlled Ghost. Lizzy looked then straight in the eye, or as best she could with their face all covered by their mask, before she reached up, gripped his wrist and threw him over her shoulder.
But the girl was unable to revel in her success as something shark pierced her neck. There had been more Ghosts in the area that she didn't notice, they usually travelled in teams of three or four for missions, something any rookie would have known, something Lizzy should have known since she had Kerrigan's memories. The drug took effect fast, within a few seconds her vision was fading and she couldn't hold herself up. One of the Ghosts caught her before she fell to the ground.
"Mission Complete. What now, Captain Nova?" One of them questioned, their voice was strange to Lizzy, she wasn't sure if it was the drugs or the mask he was wearing.
"Let's get back to the shuttle. We have what we were ordered to collect. Let's see if the information on this girl was worth the price. Poor Kid…." The Captain, Nova said. "And you." She turned to the Ghost that was picking himself off the floor, "What was that? You got your ass handed to you by a kid half your size?"
"Sorry, Captain. I was caught off guard, I didn't expect her to stop the gun with one hand." He said, hoping his excuses would pacify his leader.
The Blond Captain took point as she led them quickly through the ship back to the shuttle. They were extra careful not to cross paths with anyone. Anyone that did happen to come into contact with them was quickly knocked out, they had strict 'no kill' orders. Nova had no idea why, Jim Raynor was a renowned criminal and she was sure that the empire would have wanted him dead, but in the Blonds eyes, he was doing good work. She knew that the Empire did some shady deals (what empire didn't?) But it wasn't her job to ask questions… only carry out her orders.
Once they were all back on the shuttle, Nova strapped the child into a seat while her subordinates began a launch sequence and opened the bay doors. It was another quick, successful mission for Nova and her team.
Nova opened up a com's link on a secure channel once they were a safe distance away from the Hyperion. "This is Nova. I have the package and am rendezvousing with the team at the rally point." She didn't have to wait long for a response.
"Good. I am pleased Nova. The Empire is proud to have you as part of it." A distinctly male voice answered.
"Thank you, Emperor."
"It seems that James Raynor doesn't keep his people happy. Well, all the better for me, I'd haver have known about this child if one of his men hadn't contacted us. Your path should be clear, Duke is keeping the Protoss occupied, take the girl to the science facility at the designated coordinates. Mengsk out." And the transmission ended.
"We have our orders, let's get going." Nova ordered.
Right, that is the end. Sorry to have you waiting so long.
