Alrighty, so the reason for the lack of updates is because I hit like a type of writers block. It wasn't so much that it was a wall, more like trying to run through hip deep water. But I managed to produce this :) Turns out filler chapters are NOT my favorite thing to write 0.o And have a plan for Puck that JUST came to me so I'm a bit excited for that.
It's a short post and I hate that it is, but hey it's a filler so I guess it doesn't matter THAT much.
I also apologize for any errors, but I literally jsut wanted to get this up so all I did was spell check lol I haven't really read it over all that much.
I'm also really excited for you all to see what I'm planning on doing with Finn's character :D
Thanks for the reviews and alerts :) You guys rule so hard.
Noah's house was surprisingly lovely. You almost pictured it to be a little dirty and maybe even grimy, but to your delight it wasn't, in fact it looked like it could sparkle with how clean it was.
He led you through the living room, turned a corner, walked past the kitchen, and then through the door that went down to the basement. Again you were surprised. Your basement had concrete floors, his was carpeted. In front of you was a large flat screened TV, to the left of it was shelving that held numerous game titles. Below the television was a small entertainment system, holding ever modern console you knew of. You didn't know Noah had this much money. Not that you thought he was poor or anything, it was just this all looked so luxurious and expensive. "The others aren't going to be here for another half hour or so," he told you walking over to his PlayStation 3. "I thought we should test out your skills." He smiled and handed you a controller. It took you a second, but you grabbed t and smiled in return. Who would have guessed you'd be here right now. Of all the people at McKinley, who would have thought you would be in Noah's house?
"R1, R1, R1," Noah repeated, eyes trained to the screen in front of him. "Look out, behind that corner." He pointed and you followed, easily shooting down your opponent. At first you hated this game, there were too many buttons, too much blood, too loud of noises, and too many vulgar kids on. You'd never been called a fat lesbian so many times in your life.
Now though, now you loved it, you were "powning some major ass," as Noah put it. The insults increased as did the cursing on the other end.
It was bittersweet, you were having an amazing time and laughing more than you ever had before but you were also realizing how much fun you were missing out on. You paused the game at the sound of the doorbell and looked to Noah, silently asking for guidance on what you should do. "I'll get it, you keep kicking ass." You smiled at him. Following him with your eyes as he walked up the basement steps. The two of you had played just two games in the thirty minutes you spent together and somehow you were great at it. It didn't surprise you too much, you were great at most everything, why not add video games to the list?
With the game still on pause you quickly take out your phone and tap out a small message to the girl that's been in and out of your mind this entire day.
Hey, still at cheer?
The sound of Noah's voice made your heart pick its pace up. It was unreasonable to feel this apprehensive about how he would act around you; the two of you just spent thirty minutes spending time together. But what if he was like Quinn? What if he would act different now that other people were around?
Your phone buzzed in your hand causing you to jump out of your skin; you'd forgotten it was there.
Yea. B out in a few. U ok?
You smiled at the text a little confused at her sudden change in text style.
Fine. Noah's just been teaching me mostly. Says I've been powning so I guess that's good.
The basement door opened and you heard Arties voice now along with the clicking of his wheelchair brakes being set. You stood and walked to the stairwell. "Would you like some assistance? You ask watching as Noah hoisted the nerdy brunette out of his chair. You could see his muscles working under the skin as he slowly made his way down the steps.
"Nah, I got it, you go back to being the sexy ass gamer girl you are." He replied, sitting Artie on the couch you had just occupied. Artie was looking at you weird, clearly he wasn't informed of you joining the group for the evening. Noah left and returned with the wheelchair, completely oblivious to the tension between you and Artie.
Why was he staring at you like that? "Finn's gonna be here in a few, so I guess I should enjoy not babysitting you as much as possible." Noah teased, playfully nudging your shoulder. The earlier tension disappeared and you smiled at him. He was one of the few members of Glee that actually stood up for you. When you told everyone about the egging you received by Jesse and Vocal Adrenaline, he was the one that stood up for you, the others just followed. He was nearly bubbling over with rage. You really did like him, he was sweet and kind, you just had to find it under all the sexual and immature jokes.
Artie was still looking at you oddly but his initial face of shock was gone, now he just looked confused.
IOIOI
"What the hell! You fucking camper! God I hate these shit heads!" Noah shouted nearly throwing his controller on the ground.
"You will be avenged." You tell him sweetly, eyes going back to the screen. You were starting to fully enjoy yourself again. Noah was as dramatic as ever when it came to his games and it fit quite nicely with your personality.
Finn had let himself in the house and joined the group a couple minutes earlier, and, to your relief, he had no choice of sitting next to you. Artie was sitting to your left and Noah strategically sat on your right leaving Finn the gamer lounge chair. Every once in a while you caught him staring at you but Noah would always be able to distract you with his dramatics. "Thanks sexy lady." He said giving you a fist pound.
You wanted to enjoy this, you really did, but it was like the more fun you had the sadder you got. Look what you have been missing out on. Look at how much fun you could have been having.
Artie's phone binging brought your sorrow to a close. "It's Britt, says she's late cus Quinn got caught texting." Your jaw dropped. Why would Quinn get in trouble just to send you a silly text? She could have easily ignored yours, you would have taken it as a yes, she didn't have to endure the wrath of Sue Sylvester.
Why on Earth would you text me knowing you could get in trouble! And don't you dare reply to this text!
The redundancy of the message hit you only after you had sent it but you were upset, you tended to make rash decisions when you were upset.
You could see Noah eyeing you out of the corner of your eyes. "Son of A.." He shouted his glance swinging to the front. You couldn't help but giggle at him. He stuck his tongue out virtually chasing after virtual Finn, who was smiling smugly. He hadn't been talking much today and it was surprisingly unnerving. It made you wonder what he was thinking. At least you could tell what his intentions were when he spoke. A knock interrupted you stare and it also confused you. Brittany knelt right outside the basement window smiling and waving enthusiastically in typical Brittany style. Or what you assumed typical Brittany style. You weren't ever around her enough to really know, you just assumed.
Noah stood and unlatched the window and Brittany climbed in. "Hey sexy lady." He said handing her a controller. She hugged him and nearly danced to Artie, throwing herself at him. She nuzzled into his neck and finally turned to you. "Hey Rachel!" Her smile made you understand completely why no one could deny her friendship. It was so warm and just true. She was genuinely happy, it was a shame you wouldn't see this again after today.
"Hello Brittany." You do your best to reciprocate the smile, you want to try and look as genuinely happy as she was, but realizing that this was a one day thing really upset you. Noah only invited you out of pity. He didn't want to feel guilty for talking about this while you were right there. He had to invite you. It was just common courtesy. At least that's what the mini-Santana had been screaming in your head.
Brittany squeezed her way in-between you and Artie, forcing you to sit closer to Noah who wiggled his eyebrows in response. You couldn't help but giggle as you rolled your eyes. "Oh!" Brittany exclaimed. She turned to you and threw her arms around your neck, squeezing tightly. Her arms were so strong, and soft. You couldn't imagine anyone denying her a thing is she was like this all the time. "That's from Q," she explained pulling away. "She also says you are the most stubborn person she's met, and that you texted her first so it's your fault. Does that make sense? I might have forgotten something," Brittany trailed off losing herself in her thoughts as she tried to remember. You barely noticed though, you were busy texting your retort.
I am not stubborn! You didn't have to respond! I would have got the hint!
Noah began to set the game up to add Brittany in it, sending Finn secretive looks. You honestly forgot he was there with how bubbly Brittany was and how annoyed you were with Quinn.
You are too stubborn. And you shouldn't have texted me in the first place. How are things?
They're good. About to see how well I face off against Brittany.
You aren't going to beat her. B is crazy good.
You play?
Used to.
"Hey Rach, you gonna play or text?" Noah called. He smiled at you nudging your side with his elbow. Sending a quick text to Quinn you go back to the game laughing as the guys grumble, shout and curse at Brittany who only smiled triumphantly.
It continues for a while, the cursing and shouting but you could only laugh. It was hilarious watching the boys get defeated by someone who, just the other day, you considered a stereotypical blond. Right now though she was a genius, pulling strategic plays, tricking the boys and easily kicking their asses. Sure yours was getting just as kicked but it wasn't serious to you. The two of you would high five every time either of you had killed one of the boys, she even dubbed the two of you as Team Shortcake.
It was shocking how much time had passed without you being aware of it. But the growl in the pit of your stomach was hard to ignore. "Someone's hungry." Noah teased, and you couldn't help but blush
"You can read minds?" Brittany asked her expression half intrigued half amazed.
