From there it only got worse for Raven… She had to keep herself contained in her room because of her emotions. It was like a female's period but extreme. The other 4 titans warily let her remain to herself, though their impulses wished otherwise. Only Beast Boy had the determination to continue visiting her, he knew that she was trying to meditate and solve the problem of her "other self".
But Beast Boy couldn't help but worry, he wanted to do everything possible to help Raven. It only saddened him that he couldn't do anything. The other titans waited in the main room when Raven entered, hidden in her cloak and silent to even Beast Boy, who eagerly tried to get her to talk.
"Ummm Rae… How are things going?" Beast Boy asked curiously. Raven looked at him from underneath her hood. Guilt washed through her but she shoved it aside, afraid that it might blow up or goad herself into destruction. She just shrugged, grabbed her breakfast, and left the room, ignoring the stares of her teammates.
Robin was gritting his teeth and his fists were clenched. No doubt he was feeling guilty that he couldn't prevent what was happening to Raven. Starfire looked like she wanted to dash over and hug Raven till she died, but couldn't risk angering her or setting her off. Cyborg tried to ignore the tension and just focus on cooking but glanced at Raven every few minutes. Then there were Beast Boy, the green changeling constantly tried to interact with her, with mixed results. Sometimes Raven would just shrug it off or ignore it. Other times she would grow a second pair of eyes that turned red and would hiss before running to her room.
In her room Raven wasn't sure what to do, she wanted to stay with her friends but she knew she would just hurt them.
"Come on Raven, just destroy them already and be done with it.. Make daddy proud!" The demon whispered in her mind, the voice seductively sweet and shadowy.
"No! I won't let you take control again." Raven growled back. "I will never hurt them!" She wouldn't but her other side thought otherwise.
As her mind grew more and more unstable, Raven considered leaving the teen titans even more. She sighed and got out a piece of paper. She wished that she could say goodbye to them in person but that alone would spark her powers to overreact. Guilt and sadness flooded her and she set the paper back down, she did have another option even though it would be risky.
Raven glanced at the chest that lay across from her bed. She had been ignoring it in her search for some way to fix what was happening. Using dark magic, to control a dark creature? So a fire versus fire basically... This is going to be fun... Not. She crouched before the chest, the dark ornate carvings on it gave it an ominous appearance, just as the book inside had. She undid the lock that was guarding it and slowly opened the chest. Inside lay the book, the book that had ruined her chance of love the first time.
"It's about time you come back to see me... Raven." A dark, charming voice sounded from the book.
"Yeah yeah, can't say it's a pleasure though. Malchior." Raven said with a grimace.
"Well neither can I, I suppose." Remarked the trapped soul. Raven smiled with pleasure.
"Let's get to the point Malchior, I need help with myself." She knew how weird that sounded, but it was the truth. She could hear his chuckle and predict his sarcastic reply.
"Yes you do," he laughed haughtily. Raven just rolled her eyes and growled at him. She put a hand to her mouth when the growl rolled out of her lips, another sign that she was being synchronized with evil.
"Whatever, I don't have time for this you jerk," Raven frowned at the book and tapped her foot against the ground impatiently. Malchior wasn't her first choice of people to go to but if someone could help her with inner darkness it was a dark cursed dragon right? Raven laughed dryly. "Pathetic drake, now!"
"You dare call me a drake? I am immortal, I have lived eons! I was born in the fires of the most ancient mountains. And had the most power of my era!" The voice thundered from the book. Raven grabbed the book out of the chest and threw it against the ground. Taking a foot she stomped it with the most force she could muster, damaging the book and harming the soul trapped within.
"And I'm the child of a demon itself, you have no power over me dragon." Her voice was as cold as ice, and her amethyst eyes gleamed with malice. If Malchior had a body, he would be shuddering.
"Ek-" The book broke off when she stomped on it again. Smiling with pleasure, Raven just stood back and waved her hands towards the book, drawing forth the spirit. Dark mist emanated from the book, it filled the space before Raven and slowly collected itself into a large dark misty dragon. The apparition frowned at Raven, then at its bond with the book.
"I'm not dumb enough to fully let you out," Raven stated impatiently.
"You are not as naive as before, Raven." Malchior replied wistfully. His misty tail dragged back and forth longingly. "What is it you need to know?"
Raven's sly smile grew bigger in a cruel way. "Oh, good, so you know you can't escape. Trust a dragon to know what's futile hmm?" Malchior let out a beastly growl and Raven just growled back. "This demon side of me is becoming more and more prevalent, how do I solve it?"
Malchior scrutinized her carefully, before letting out a throaty growl that resembled a laugh. "Like I've ever tried to deny myself my own power, what advice can I give you?" Dark laughing resonated inside Raven's mind, and four red eyes flashed across her face. Her blood ran cold when she realized that he couldn't help her.
"What do you mean drake?" Raven clenched her fist, dark magic glowed around it, and Malchior roared in pain. At this point Raven didn't even care if she drew the other's attention, she needed this info, this torture. "You will help me!"
"I can not give you help! There is no possible solution for me to give!" Malchior launched a claw toward the relatively small girl, but it stopped a few inches from her still grinning face.
"Nice try... Drake!" But Raven's smile turned into a frown at the lack of info. "If you don't have the knowledge, then so be it."
"Wha-AHHHHHH!" Malchior roared so loud his dark voice turned light with pain. Raven sent a bolt of dark energy straight into his chest, it was mixed with dark fire and burned its way to his rotten heart. His angry draconic screams struck a cord in Raven, and she realized what she was doing. She gasped and watched the book burst into dark flame. In a few minutes the only thing that lay on the ground were pale ashes from the burning book.
"No..."
