Wow. So, so, so sorry this took so long. Real life, stomach problems, a trip out of town with no Wi-Fi, family and a forty-eight hour trip to Panem (reading the last two Hunger Games books) took over and well, yeah, this took forever. I do hope, however, that the length and content of this chapter will make up for it. Let me know what you think of this Jasam wedding ceremony.
This was it, her wedding day, Halloween day. Maxie had already picked her up and brought her to her apartment, so Jason and the guys could go prep at the Penthouse. For the first time in a while, she woke up without his arms around her and, of course, it almost made her go crazy. That was until Maxie showed up and whisked her away, still in PJs, and started babbling about the wedding. That had made her feel better. Well, that and the light kicks against her belly that she hoped Jason would feel soon. Their baby was being more active than usual, as if she knew the day was important. Sam couldn't keep her hand away from her twenty-week bump. It was un-real, perfect. Too perfect. It was all too perfect. Something bad was bound to happen soon. It was long overdue. Things in Port Charles were never perfect, and when they were, it was a sign of disaster waiting to strike. She knew that and she was scared. Scared that disaster would strike town during her wedding, or, worse, at her wedding. She didn't tell anyone, though. She knew, and kind of agreed, that they'd say that it was hormones and that it would all be fine. Jason had promised that nothing would happen to her, nor the baby. And she knew he would keep that promise, no matter what. Still, she couldn't shake the feeling that something was going to happen, if not to her, to one of their guests.
Those negative thoughts were interrupted when Maxie came running into the room. She looked up from her spot on the couch to see her best friend holding a box that she didn't recognize but she knew contained shoes. Maxie loved shoes. She could tell her friend was about to open the box and show her it's contents when a knock sounded at the door. Maxie practically skipped to the door, seeming more excited than even Sam was. Not that Maxie's excitement could ever live up to hers. She was just... tired. Baby was not letting her sleep well and it sucked, especially with nerves adding to her insomnia. Maxie opened the door to Molly, Kristina and Carly, who had picked them up. Alexis had been invited, but Sam wasn't sure she'd show. Her mother, despite accepting the wedding, was not exactly enthusiastic about it. Her sisters, on the other hand, were ecstatic that what Molly had once called a 'tragic love story' was finally being given a happy ending.
All three of her bride's maids came into the room, talking over each other and Maxie. All Sam could make out was a few sentences.
"Are those the shoes?" was the first thing she made out, from Carly.
"Of course" Maxie had answered.
"The day's finally here" said Molly after a few seconds.
"Is Jason getting ready?" asked Kristina. Sam rolled her eyes.
"Guys!" she snapped, getting annoyed with the hyper, over-excited group. Of course, that got everyone's attention and all four turned to her. Before she could continue, though, she was being bombarded with questions of both panic, and excitement. 'Is the baby okay?' came up a few times, along with 'Are you ready?' and 'Excited?' and a 'Are you in any pain?' from Carly. "Guys!" she said, once again over her loud friends and sisters. "Everything is fine" she assured them. They had calmed down, but their faces showed obvious panic. Their faces all went neutral after that. "Listen. Jason is getting ready. I know he is. But my wedding's in a few hours and I'm not!" she said. At her words, Maxie's face broke into an obvious smile.
"Then, let's get you ready. I got the shoes!" she said and, once again, the room broke into excited conversation.
Meanwhile, at the Penthouse, Jason was stuck getting ready with an overly-excited and inexplicably nervous Spinelli. Sonny, Michael and Morgan were going to meet them at the Metro Court's ballroom since they were spending the morning bonding and catching up. Jason, though, thought it was just a way for Sonny to keep Spinelli from rubbing off on his kids, since, despite Spinelli being an amazing employee to the business, he was positive Sonny didn't want his kids calling him 'Mr. Sir'. So, with the Corinthos clan at their house, he was left alone with Spinelli, who, to anyone else, would seem more excited about the wedding than the groom. But that certainly wasn't the case. Jason just wasn't the type to ramble about how beautiful 'his Fair Samantha' would be - despite knowing the she'd be gorgeous - or about his 'upcoming nuptials'. Well, he just wasn't the type to ramble in the first place. But he was excited, really excited, to finally have Sam be Mrs. Morgan. His Mrs. Morgan.
Spinelli came running down the stairs, unreasonably out of breath. He had a slightly scrunched up piece of paper in his hands, that Jason could tell he was holding tightly. Across it, he could vaguely see lines of messed up writing, which was odd since Spinelli usually typed everything. In fact, he was positive Spinelli had typed everything he had written in a while, except maybe his phone number when... who knew when the last time he had given his phone number was. Pretty much the only thing Spinelli wrote rather than typed was his signature. So, what was this paper in his hands? When he shoved the paper at Jason, however, he knew exactly what it was. It was the note Sam had written him before leaving, most likely with Maxie.
"Fair Samantha left a note for you, Stone Cold" he said. Jason smiled slightly.
"I know, Spinelli" he said, examining her curly handwriting. Things like that never mattered to him before, he never noticed them before. But, with Sam, he did. He looked up at his best man to see a wide, almost goofy smile spread across his face.
"The Fair Samantha can get Stone Cold to show true happiness. How lovely" he said as Jason fought the urge to shake his head and roll his eyes.
A few hours later, Sam stood, blindfolded, in front of what she knew was Maxie's head to toe mirror. Apparently it would be 'more exciting' is she only saw the finished product. So, after being poked and prodded at, having her hair and makeup done and having Maxie help her shimmy into her dress, which surprisingly fit perfectly, she was allowed to see herself. Well, as soon as Maxie found her sash and got it on her. It felt like eternity, standing there in Maxie's room, waiting to see how she would look on one of the most important days of her life. She heard footsteps at the door and hoped it was Maxie, but it wasn't. It was Molly.
"Sam, you look gorgeous. I can't wait for you to see yourself, or for Jason to see you. I bet he'll smile today. He better" she said.
"I'm sure he will" said Sam. Jason very, very rarely smiled in front of people that weren't her. In public, he was Sonny's stone cold, straight faced enforcer. But, with her, he was the most romantic, sweetest, loving man with the most beautiful smile she had ever seen. And the fact that it was rare only made the few occasions where he did smile all that much better.
"I've only seen him smile like twice, Sam, and both times someone had mentioned you" said Molly, smiling even though her sister couldn't see it. "He loves you so much" Sam smiled knowingly and went to answer when Maxie finally walked in.
"I found it!" she announced and Sam sighed, mostly in relief. "Don't do that. You knew I'd find it" said Maxie, a hint a annoyance in her voice which quickly switch to humor. Sam felt her friend behind her, then the sash against her five-months-pregnant baby bump. She felt the baby kick again and smiled. It was by far one of the best parts of her morning, her super actif baby. She could feel Maxie's hands against her mid back, fumbling with the smooth satin. Finally, she felt the knot press against her back. Maxie's hands move away, and the blindfold came undone. The first thing she did was laugh as her friend scrambled for her phone and started video taping, as if she were going into labor or something.
As Maxie pulled the thin cloth away, Sam's eyes caught themselves in the mirror. She was sporting the perfect smoky eye, dark eyeshadow, black mascara and a hint of sparkly black eyeliner. Though the makeup was a style that's usually bold, the makeup artist Maxie had brought in managed to keep it light, allowing her natural beauty to shine through. Besides that, her makeup consisted of like pink blush, a deep pink lipstick and and hint of shimmer dust over her entire face. Overall, she wouldn't change a thing. Her hair was up, but she couldn't see exactly in what, with a few strands curled and hanging, framing her face perfectly. Her fishnet veil was clipped it with three rather small flowers, the middle one airbrushed with a little black and the other two airbrushed a light orange. Her neck was circled by a simple white gold chain with a pendant she didn't recognize.
"Jason got it for you, asked me to give it to you today" clarified Carly from the door. Sam hadn't even noticed her there, nor Josslyn in her arms or Kristina next to her. She smiled, fighting desperately to hold back tears. He could be so sweet. She reached up and caressed the heart shaped pendant with her fingers. In it, was emerald, which she recognized as her birthstone. Still smiling, she scanned the rest of her body. The sweetheart neckline still fit her slightly enlarged breasts perfectly, better than when she bought it. The sash had the black detailing, as planned, where someone - also hired by Maxie - had sewn extremely detailed flourishes across it with a fake black gem here and there. She secretly wondered how anyone could get such detail when she couldn't even get thread in a sewing machine. Below that, the satin of her dress flowed perfectly around her belly, where her baby was still kicking. She smiled and ran her hand over the bump, smoothing out slight wrinkles in the material as she did. The dress went down to her ankles, showing her toes at the bottom. On her feet, she could see the three inch heels, which she had discovered were a pain to walk in when pregnant, that Maxie had picked out. The black peep toe shoes had small orange roses on them, still highlighting the halloween colors. By the time she had taken in her full appearance, unfightable tears were running down her cheeks.
Knowing all eyes were on her, she wiped away the tears from her cheeks and tried to the ones that continued to well in her eyes.
"Don't worry" shot in Maxie. "I made sure the makeup was waterproof" she explained with a smile. Sam wanted to be offended, but couldn't be. Everyone, including her, knew she was going to cry, especially with her hormones making her cry at everything.
"Thanks" she managed to whisper, as Maxie handed her a tissue. She quickly dabbed the tears off her cheeks before turning away from the mirror to face her bridesmaids. They all had their hair and makeup done as well. They, though, were not dressed in their wedding attire. "You guys should go get ready" she told them. They nodded and left the room, except Carly, who sat Josslyn on the bed.
"Can you get her ready?" she asked, sitting the bag with Joss' things next to the two-year-old. Sam smiled, she loved Joss.
"Of course" she said, smiling at Carly, who smiled back at her before leaving the room.
The wedding was about to begin, but he wasn't invited. He sat in the back staircase of the Metro Court. Carly's hotel clearly needed better security. But, then again, he had mastered the skill of invisibility. No one knew who he was, where he was or what he knew until he wanted them to. He slowly got up, looking around for what the hotel called 'security guards', what he called idiots. Clearly, they didn't do their job well, he was outside one of the rooms of the hotel, where he had 'overheard' Sam say the reception was being held. Opening the door, he slowly crept in. He knew there was no alarm, considering the rest of Carly's security. He went over and added one decoration before leaving, back to the staircase.
Sam stood in a small room just outside the main ballroom, where Carly had insisted the wedding be held. She was actually glad, since Carly and Maxie had also done most of the decorations and she got her venue free. Anyway, so there she stood, in her wedding dress, hair and makeup complete, ready. Ready to walk down the aisle. More than ready, actually. Inside her, her baby was kicking up a storm. Aside from knowing her groom was right outside, as Maxie had announced to her about five minutes before. She wanted to just go out, forget the traditional wedding, and marry her man, but Maxie, Carly, Molly and Kristina had worked hard on the guest list and insisted they wait until more people were present. Somehow, though, she had a feeling that they were actually waiting for someone in specific, and she wanted to know who.
Suddenly, she heard two more voices out in the hallway, besides Maxie's and Carly's. She recognized them immediately, despite their tone of slight sadness and a little panic. It was Molly and Kristina, and they seemed to be talking about someone in specific.
"But Kristina, she has to come! Sam will be so upset if she doesn't" said Molly. Sam could hear the distress in her voice. She wonder who 'she' was.
"Mols, we both know that she might not. She seemed upset last night" said Kristina.
"But... But, Krissy. Just because she doesn't approve doesn't mean she shouldn't show up. She knows Sam is happy, and it's not like she can keep them from being together. Sam is five months pregnant, after all" said Molly, clearly upset. Just because she doesn't approve... She knows Sam is happy... She seemed upset last night... It suddenly dawned on her who this person that had her sisters so upset was. Their mother. Wait. She hasn't shown up yet? she wondered. What a slap in the face. She knew her mom didn't approve of her relationship with a mobster but, geez, you'd expect a woman dead set on having a relationship with her daughter to at least show up to her wedding. Not to completely blow off her invitation because the future-son-in-law's job.
Okay, so Sam understood why one of the most respected lawyers in Port Charles, the past DA and ex-wife to cop, also ex-DA, would want her daughter to chose someone with a safer, more legal business. But still, like Molly had said, she couldn't stop them from being together. If not connected by the bond of marriage, the baby she was halfway through carrying was certainly enough to get her mom to understand she wasn't leaving Jason any time soon. In fact, she wondered how her mom could be blind enough to miss how much happier she was with him and that, honestly, his job meant practically nothing to her. She wondered how her mother could miss what a good man Jason was. She wondered how her mom could judge her fiance, husband in a few hours at most, when Alexis also had a kid with a mobster, a mob boss and had slept with a well known psychopath. Her mother could be such a confusing hypocrite sometimes. Suddenly, her thoughts were broken when she heard Molly's voice again, excited rather than sad.
"Mom! You came!" she yelled. Before she could allow herself a minute to react, the door opened and the woman she had just been mentally basking walked in.
Ignoring the other presence in the mirror, she reached over for her phone, turning it on briefly to check the time. Reading the big numbers, 4:17, she had to hold back a gasp of pain and betrayal. No wonder everyone was upset. They hadn't been waiting for more guests, they were waiting for Alexis, because everyone else who cared enough and who she cared about was most likely already there. Because the invite had clearly read 3:30, so no one would be late for the four o'clock wedding.
"You're late" she said coldly, turning off her phone and fighting the urge to throw it back on the table where it had been. Her mother, who insisted on loving her to pieces had been late because of what? She had yet to make her final decision on whether she should show up or not?
"I know" said Alexis, a hint of guilt in her voice but she was mostly confirming what her daughter had said. She was late and she knew it, and she clearly didn't feel very bad about it.
"Why?" asked Sam coldly, still not turning to face her mother. Pregnant or not, emotional or not, she knew that when someone truly loved you, they showed up on time for the most important day of your life. Her mom was probably last to show up. Even people like Elizabeth - Jason's ex-fiance, mother to his late child, woman who hated Sam for years and who had scored an invite because of her recent sweetness and respect on top of out of respect for the son she shared with Jason, even though Jake had passed away a few months before Sam had showed up pregnant - had shown up before the oh-so important moth-of-the-bride.
"I'm sorry, Sam. I came in here to try and make it up to you, not to fight. I wanted to know if-" she was cut off by her daughters angry screams.
"You know what I wanted you to do?! I wanted you to accept this wedding and show up on time. But you didn't. Now, I want you to do one of two things. Either you go sit in the back of that room, not the front, and stay quiet, respecting me, Jason and our baby, or, if you think the thought might even cross you mind to stand up when they say speak now, you can leave!" she tried to stay calm but ended up yelling anyway. She was upset, obviously, pregnant and her hormones were running crazy. She should get that, since Alexis had been pregnant three times before. The look up hurt that crosse her mother's face went unnoticed, since Sam still refused to look at her, even in the mirror. Slowly, she walked out of the room, truning back briefly to tell Sam one last thing.
"I never meant to hurt you, Sam. I will make it up to you, I promise" she said softly before leaving her daughter alone and confused in the room. She wondered how her mom thought she could ever make this up to her, but, knowing Alexis, she would sure as hell try.
Her thoughts were once again broken, this time by Maxie. This time, though, she turned to her company and welcomed her into the room with a forced smile. Maxie eyes, however showed sympathy and at that, Sam had to work hard to keep her composure.
"Sam, I'm sorry. I tried to stop her from coming in. I know she upset you, everyone heard you yelling, even Jason. He wanted to come see you but Carly and I promised to check on you first. We knew it was her. When he saw her walk into the room and sit at the furthest point from the altar, he understood and sent me in here" she explained. Sam simply nodded, not trusting her mouth to open without letting out the beginning of a sob. "Sam..." said Maxie, sad for her friend. "I can see you want to cry. Don't. Don't let your bitch of a mom do this to you, okay? She wants to do something stupid, let her, please Sam. Don't let Alexis ruin this day for you. It is supposed to be the happiest day of your life" said Maxie. Sam's face broke into a slight smile at the remainder of why she was there in the first place, the event to which her mom had been late, the reason she was there in a white dress. She was about to marry Jason. "There's that smile" said Maxie, causing Sam's smile to grow. "Now come on. We have a wedding to start"
Maxie leaned over and kissed her cheek softly. Not saying another word, she left the room and Sam could hear her rallying up the other bridesmaids. She could hear, through the door, Molly and Kristina apologizing for their mom's out-of-line behavior. Then, she heard the instrumental music that Carly and Maxie had picked out for their walk down the aisle. The door opened and Maxie motioned for her to follow. Sam, still smiling, followed her to the edge of the wall so they remained hidden. Silently, they watched Morgan and Molly walk down the aisle, arm in arm. At the end, Morgan leaned over and kissed her cheek softly and the slight blush on Molly's cheeks did not go unnoticed by either of her sisters. Then, Kristina walked down the aisle on the arm of her brother, who, at the end, also kissed her cheek in a brotherly motion. Carly was next, on the arm of her ex-husband. Sam couldn't help but imagine them getting back together. They were still so sweet together. She almost giggled at the irony of the fact that, at one point, she had been standing in the way of Sonny and Carly and had been proud of it. As they approached Jason and Father Coates - who usually did his weddings in churches but Carly had convinced him to come to the MetroCourt - Sonny also kissed Carly's cheek, and Sam thought she saw her friends smile grow a bit. Finally, maid of honor Maxie and best man Spinelli linked arms and made their way down to the front of the hall. Once Spinelli kissed his lover's cheek, two people who she assumed worked for the hotel rolled out the white runner and another, probably one of Carly's most trusted employees, carried Josslyn to the end and gave her a light push towards Jason. Giggling, the toddler in a white dress with black detailing and angel wings on back waddled down the aisle, surprisingly throwing the orange and black feathers from her basket as she did. From her corner, Sam saw Jason's eyes light up as his goddaughter threw her basket aside, dumping the feather in from of Molly's feet, and reached up for Jason, shrieking his name. Jason picked her up, kissed her head and handed the little blond angel back to Carly, who did the same. Sam smiled, not only at the sight but at the fact that her baby kicked as it happened. She couldn't wait to see Jason do the same with their baby. Hearing the music change in the background, she knew it was her cue. She went to the center of the room, the beginning of the aisle, a smile lighting up her face. She was about to marry Jason.
His face lit up the moment he saw her. She was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Her white, silky dress fit her perfectly, cupping her breasts perfectly and showing her baby bump off beautifully. Because of her hand placement, he could only see the orange sash with black embroidery as it flowed behind her still small frame. In her hands, she head a beautiful bouquet of white roses, orange lilies and black feathers, something he would never notice with anyone but her. Her hair framed her face perfectly but the updo allowed him to see the perfect line of her neck, where he would always kiss her to drive her mad. She always did. Her smile was radiant and shone not only through her mouth, her perfectly curved lips and pearly white teeth, but through her bright eyes which had already glossed over with tears. He realized his were doing the same, but did nothing to stop it. He knew this was the most vulnerable most people in this room had ever seen him, except Carly, Sonny, Michael (in prison) and, of course, Sam. He didn't even realize how close she was until his hand instinctively reached out for hers, as Maxie took the bouquet. She barely noticed, since her eyes were locked on his. Everyone else in the room had disappeared. It was just the two of them. Two long time lovers finally being bonded not only by love, by a child, but by law. After years of love, admitted or not, two people stood before all those they loved, and a few others who they didn't really know, to proclaim their love for one another. Two people. Happy. In love.
They stood there, hand in hand, their hearts beating so hard the other could feel it through their fingers. Their heartbeats matched up perfectly. She smiled at him sweetly, and he let his lips curl up into a sly smile too. They had tuned out everyone, besides Father Coates, who was introducing them to the crowd. He then addressed himself to them.
"Sam. Jason. I was advised to skip all the emotional religious tradition" he said, causing Sam to giggle. "And to make it quick because you two waited to long to be married" Sam could tell immediately that it was Carly's exact wording from when she hired him. It was such a Carly thing to say, definitely not a priests usual start to a wedding. The laughs of the crown sounded distant to both. "So, without further ado, does anyone object to the marital union of Samantha McCall and Jason Morgan, speak now or forever hold your piece" he said.
Now aware of the others, Sam turned and shot her mother a death glare clearly saying 'don't you even think about it'. Alexis, understanding, seemed to sink into her seat. Satisfied when no one stood, she turned back to Jason with an innocent smile.
"Well, we shall continue with the ceremony then" he said. "So, uh..." he seemed out of place, since the ceremony was clearly not very religious. "The bride and groom have chosen to write their own vows. Jason?"
She had expected him to take out a paper with a few scribbles as ideas. He wasn't big on romantic speeches that revealed his biggest weakness. Her. But she was surprised when he simply started talking, sure of himself as he'd rehearsed it before.
"Sam. You already know how much you mean to me. I mean, look at me. I'm in public, in front of a ton of people, in a tux giving an emotional speech" A few chuckles were heard from the crowd. "But, Sam, there's so much you don't know. Like how, when I'm working, I open your contact page and just stare at your picture. Or how I watch you in your sleep and memorize your peaceful face. Sam, there's so many things I do, just because I love you, and you don't even know it. I fall deeper in love with you every single day that your around me, that we're apart, that you live with me, that you carry our child. I know what life is like without you, Sam, and I can't ever go through that again. Ever. I promise to always keep you both safe, to love you, to be there for you and to put you both before me no matter what" he said and, before she or Father Coates could say anything, the crowd broke out in a collective awe. She laughed through the tears running down her cheeks. She was probably the only person in this room who had ever seen Jason like that, besides maybe Elizabeth but she doubted even his ex-fiance had seen such a side of him. Father Coates, who looked just as surprised as the rest of the ballroom, spoke again.
"Sam?" She nodded.
"Jason... I- I love you" she said, mentally face palming herself for the lame beginning. She felt his thumbs rubbing soothing circles against the back of her hands. Smiling, she focused solely on him. "Jason, I love you so much. We have overcome so much to get here, to this point. We were brought together by odd circumstances, and you became my best friend. When I lost my daughter, you held me as I sobbed. We fell in love. And then, we were separated by cruel circumstances and I saw what life was like without you. Horrible. Once I rebuilt myself, you snuck back in, getting me to love you again. I was scared, but my love for you was too much. I'm glad it was, looking at us now. I trust you with my life, with our child's life, with my heart. You are the only person to have ever had that trust" she said, more tears rolling down her cheeks. She could even see one had fallen from his right eye. That was one thing only she could do to him. Jason Morgan, stone cold mob enforcer, was crying of joy, of love, because of her. Once again, the crowd broke into awes. Even Father Coates seemed moved, and Sam thought she saw him gazing at the tear still on Jason's cheek, that only the two of them could see.
As the room calmed down, she could feel the baby moving a bit inside of her. She smiled at the fluttering feeling, like when the baby was first kicking. Her tears had stopped, but her cheek were still damp from them. The lone tear that had been on Jason's cheek had rolled down onto the floor. Once again lost in each other's eyes, they missed the quiet sounds of pleasure from the crowd. They only snapped out of it when Father Coates spoke.
"Jason, do you take Sam to be your lawful wedded wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?" he asked. Jason, a smile still glued to his face and another tear rolling down his same cheek, answered.
"I do" he said, his voice thick with only one emotion, love.
"Sam, do you take Jason to be your lawful wedded husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?" he repeated. Sam, tears rolling down her cheeks, her eyes locked on his, her smile impossible to wipe off, her baby kicking her oh so softly, as if pushing her to answer, did.
"I do" she practically whispered.
The room silent, Maxie and Spinelli handed over the rings without being asked. Holding them out between them, with opposite hands, the happy couple and everyone else watched and listened as Father Coates blessed the rings. Once done, he turned to Jason.
"Jason, repeat after me then place the ring on Sam's finger" he said and Jason nodded. "I give you this ring as a symbol of my love, my faith in our strength together, and my covenant to learn and grow with you"
Jason smiled, steadying Sam's shaking left hand in his right, smiling at her sweetly. Crying again, she smiled back. "I give you this ring as a symbol of my love, my faith in our strength together, and my covenant to learn and grow with you" he repeated before gently, slowly slipping the ring onto her finger. The simple band of of white gold and diamonds fit perfectly against her engagement ring. He brought her hand it his mouth and kissed it, their eyes remaining locked. Sam barely listened to Father Coates as he repeated what he had told Jason to her. The sentence had been burned into her memory, forever.
"I give you this ring as a symbol of my love, my faith in our strength together, and my covenant to learn and grow with you" she repeated, slipping the platinum ring onto his stable left hand slowly because she was shaking like a leaf. She took his hand tighter and repeated the motion, kissing the back of his hand. The memory of the first time she had done that came back to her, before Lila's memorial. She quickly pushed that thought back, though, not wanting the joy of her wedding day to be clouded by the memories of such a dark day.
"Well, by the power invested in me by the catholic church, I now pronounce you husband and wife" stated Father Coates, a smile on his face because of the couple's happiness. "Jason, you may now kiss your bride" Smiling, Jason reached over, cupping her left cheek in one hand and her baby bump in the other. Smiling as well, she let his lips meet hers in a slow, loving kiss.
It was perfect.
