Chapter 9: Reunion

Rin's POV
I woke up in a pitched dark room. I soon realized I was in the same room from earlier. But it wasn't just any room, it was my room from ten years ago. Laying here in my bed and staring up at the ceiling, I felt tears streaming down my face. How? How could I have forgotten about everything. My real name, my parents, my brothers and even Lord Sesshomaru. I slowly sat up and wiped away my tears. I began to hear the sound of someone walking towards my room. I heard the door slide open to see it was my maid. I could tell she was still mad at me. I feel bad the way I've treated her and everyone else here. But I think I owe Lord Sesshomaru the most apology. I watched as she came over to me with a tray of food and placed it next to my bed. She started talking to me in a stern voice.
"I had a feeling you would be awake. You better eat this food. Once your done eating, your lord will be coming to talk to you. You will be wearing a proper kimono and not those weird clothes you came in. Plus you cannot say no for an answer. Do you understand me Miss Rin," she said. Instead of speaking I just nodded my head. I do need to apologize to her, but I'll do that later. I watched her open all the outside doors to my room and I noticed it was sunny out. She left without another word to me. I guess I'm allowed out on the patio. Doing as I was told I ate what I believe was my lunch. After I ate my lunch I went and grabbed a new female attire and went to get a bath. When I undressed myself in my private washroom I noticed my left arm was bandaged up.
"That's right," I thought. I was attached by a large coyote. So that means Lords Sesshomaru was successful and killed the coyote demon Kyoya. Thinking of that demons name gives me the chills. I put memory to the back of my mind. I went over to my mirror to look at myself to see if I had any other injuries. I looked at myself and only saw minor cuts and bruises. I then went and stepped in the hot bath and cleaned myself up. After I was clean, I heard the front door slide open again. I hope whoever it was could sense I was in here. I soon heard the same maid again. She still had a stern tone to her voice.
"Miss Rin I'm coming in, let's get you dressed. I have a kimono already picked out for you," she said. I stepped out of the tub and grabbed my white yukata. She came in just as I wrapped the white material around me. I looked to her and the kimono she had in her hands. I noticed it was in the shade of navy blue. I loved that color against my skin tone. I noticed when she unwrapped the material I saw the hints of colors it had. There were tiny bits of green, pink, and white tiny lines. They almost look like little sprinkles you put on ice cream. They started at the waist and end at the hem of the bottom of the kimono. I smiled and spoke softly.
"The color is so pretty," I said. She noticed my expression and then I heard her speak again with less a stern tone.
"Lord Sesshomaru requested that you wear this one. He will be meeting you very shortly out in the gardens. So don't waste his time and let's get you ready," she said. Before I could agree to get ready I had to apologize to her. I bowed to her and started to speak.
"I feel the need to apologize for my rudeness earlier. I was not myself and I feel ashamed. I forgot who I truly was. But after I hit my head I regained my memory of my true self," I said. I lifted my head and she was just staring at me. She spoke very quickly.
"One never bow me as you have a higher ranking than me. Two I accept your apology but you definitely owe one to your lord the most. Now let's get you ready," she said. Higher ranking? What does that mean? I'm only human so shouldn't that just make me normal?. I had to ask her one more question before I changed.
"Before I change could I have your name please?" I asked.
"It's just Nagisa, Miss Rin," She said. I removed the yukata off of me and put on my female attire. Then after that Nagisa helped me put on the kimono. Once it was tide I went over to the mirror to look at myself. I thought I looked stunning in the kimono. How I miss wearing them everyday. Not that I won't miss the everyday modern clothes. But kimonos were a lot more comfortable. Thankfully she left my hair down and I wouldn't have to deal with the tight pulling. Nagisa had me put on sandals that would match my outfit. They were a bit uncomfortable but I'll deal with it.
Once I was ready, I was informed to wait out in gardens outside my room. Doing as I was told, I went outside and stepped out into the gardens. I don't know how long I have to wait so I decided to walk around. I've noticed so much has changed since the last time I've seen it. But that was back when I was ten years old. I saw new pounds have been added and they have koi fish. I saw the different colored ones swimming around. I was so preoccupied watching the fish when I heard someone walking towards me. I already knew who it was when I heard him say my name.
"Rin," Lord Sesshomaru said.
I turned around and met the golden eyes I remember waking up to when he brought me back from the dead. That was twelve years ago when I was eight years old. Looking at Lord Sesshomaru's eyes they held a cold expression. I could tell he was still upset with the way I've acted these past two weeks. With a soft smile across my face I reached out my hand for his as I softly spoke to him.
"My lord, I've missed you these past ten years I've been gone. But I'm happy to say that I'm home," I said. I watched as his expression changed very fast. I had a feeling he knew I was back to my kind self. He reached out and took my hand in his. Not even a second later he pulled me into an embrace. He felt so warm holding me. After these last few weeks of hell I needed this. I needed this type of comfort. But I knew very soon I was going to have to tell him everything. I wonder what his reaction will be when I tell him I was put into an arranged marriage. I know he won't be happy about it. Very soon Lord Sesshomaru held my waist a little tight and teleported us far outside the castle. He went so fast that we were now in the middle of the woods. Looking around where we were, I saw a new waterfall. It was so beautiful. It was a tiny bit smaller. It also had a medium size pull below it.
Lord Sesshomaru let go of my waist and took ahold of my hand. He led us over to a sakura tree near the waters edge. He turned me around so my back was against the tree. I was ready to answer whatever he was going to ask me. I felt him lift my chin so I could look at him. I placed my hand over his so I would feel more comfortable. I was the first one to ask the questions.
"What are you thinking about my lord?" I asked. After a minute he responded.
"Where have you been these last ten years? Where were you heading before you got sent back here?" He asked. I already knew he was going to ask me that. Taking a deep breath I answered.
"I...I somehow ended up in Kagome's world. I was found in the same well I disappeared in. I also suffered from memory loss. That's why I couldn't remember you my lord. I was then eventually adopted by the couple who found me in the well. For your last question I was...trying to escape from something" I said. I was still looking at him because I already what he was going to ask me.
"What were you escaping from Rin? Is it the same reason you were running away" He asked. I knew he wasn't going to let me go if I didn't tell him. The reason I knew that was because he wrapped his other arm around my waist.
"Yes my lord. I was put into an arranged marriage by my adopted family. The person I was set up to marry is someone I hardly know or love," I said. He was still holding my chin and waist when he finally spoke again.
"As your guardian I will not allow it Rin," he said. I looked into his eyes and I could tell he was serious. He soon let go of my chin and pulled me into another embrace. I did the same and wrapped my arms around him. Lord Sesshomaru is still very protective of me. As he was still holding me close, my mind went back to the other week when I almost hit him. I felt so bad for what I almost did. I was about to say something when he did suddenly.
"Rin what are you thinking about?" He asked. It seems like Lord Sesshomaru can read my mind. Strange yet funny in a way. But I gave him my answer.
"That I need to apologize for my actions the other week. I'm sorry the way I treated your staff and including you. I never meant to almost hit you. I don't know what came over me. I think I was releasing my anger from the whole arrange marriage. But I'm happy that I'm slowly getting my memory back. I don't remember a lot. I only remember up to the point I met you. There are a few things I do remember after I met you. But not a lot," I said. I felt him release me but went back to holding my chin. When I looked into Lord Sesshomaru's eyes they held a calmness to them. I went to place my hand back over his. I knew he accepted my apology.
"Rin, promise me you will not leave the castle grounds without me this time and I'll accept your forgiveness," he said. Hearing his exact words I just smiled at him. Finally finding out who I really am, I have no plans to go back.
"Yes my lord, I promise. I have no intentions to step outside now," I said. With my free hand I placed it over my necklace. I guess he saw my movement and saw me holding my necklace.
"Is that piece what you were looking for last night?" He asked.
"What do you mean?" I asked. I was a bit confused how he figured I was looking for it.
"It seems you forgot I can recognize your scent Rin. I sensed you picked something up along the rocky shore. The same place I found you unconscious," he said. I totally forgot he can recognize my scent.
"Oh yes. I was worried that I lost it. It's kind of the reason why I escaped," I said.
"You could of told me and I would of brought you out to find it Rin," he said.
"I know, but at that time I didn't know who I was. My intentions was to find my necklace and to get far away as possible. But now I'll remain here safe within the castle walls," I said.
"If there's anytime you wish to go outside I'll bring you out after my work. But for now you can only walk inside the castle grounds," he said. I gave him a soft smile before I gave him a smile.
"Yes my lord," I said. I don't know when I would want to go back outside the castle.
"Rin I'd really appreciate if you would finally join me for dinner tonight," he said.
"It will be a pleasure to join you tonight for dinner my lord," I said.
We arrived back at the castle not long after. Lord Sesshomaru had business to deal with and he went to his office. I went back into my room where their was hot tea waiting for me. Even though it's summer a cup of hot tea does feel good to have.
Wolf Den
The youkai thunder brothers Raiden and Hitoshi arrived at the coyote cave to give bad news on Kyoya to their leader.
"Did you find my son Kyoya?" The leader asked. She watched when both brothers came in to view.
"My lady, but it's with great sadness Kyoya was no match to the lord of the western steps and his body along with his strongest coyote were burnt till they were ash," Raiden said. Both brothers knelt before her.
"I'm sorry my lady. We will do whatever we can for what happened," Hitoshi said. The leader stood up as she spoke with anger rushing through her.
"WHY...WHY WAS HE KILLED? GO AND FIND OUT AND DON'T COME BACK UNTIL YOU DO," she informed them. Both brothers were on the feet and bowed to their heads and were off.
Rin's POV
It was raining now when I heard someone coming towards my door. The door slid opened and I turned to see it was my lord. I bowed and greeted to him as he stepped inside.
"Good evening my lord," I said. I guess he came to get me for dinner. It feels good that I'm getting a decent meal now. All the time I've been here, I was only eating a tiny bit. Lord Sesshomaru didn't say a thing. I watched as he came over and took ahold my forearm. He turned me around so I could face him. I watched as he slowly pushed me back up against the wall. Ummm...what's going on? Why is he doing this? Did I something wrong again? My mind was scattering and I couldn't understand why.
"Lord Sesshomaru is everything okay? Did I do something I wasn't a post to do?" I asked. He still didn't say a word yet. I watched as he took his other hand and placed it along my chin. I soon felt him lift it and run his thumb along my bottom lip. Ummm...is he going to try and kiss me?.
"Don't move Rin," he said. Taking a deep breath I nodded to him. This was going to be my first kiss and that made me nervous. We both slowly leaned in and closed our eyes. Soon I felt his lips press against mine. It was quick as we parted. I didn't dare to open my eyes as I was a bit scared. But then I felt him press his lips to mine again. Our kissing picked up a tiny bit. I somehow didn't want this to end so I slowly moved my hands up his chest. Then I wrapped my arms around his neck. I had a feeling he liked it because his free arm wrapped around my lower back. Soon we parted so we could catch our breaths. Now I needed to ask him.
"My lord why did you kiss me?" I asked. I looked into his eyes and they looked serious to why he did it.
"I marked your lips Rin. When we go have dinner, there will be other demons in the dining hall. They will see I marked you. They will know that they can't try and claim you as their own. That means they will know that you belong to me," he said. Marked? Why me? So do demons mark everyone in a different way?.
I was gonna ask something else but Lord Sesshomaru let go of my chin and took my hand. He lead us out of my room and towards where the dining hall would be. I don't remember much of where everything is here in the castle. But I do hope in time it all comes back. Once we arrived at the dining hall, it looked like he had something else to say.
"Once were inside Rin, do not leave my side. I will being keeping my guard up. There are some demons here who do not care for humans. But they were warned that you'll be joining me. They know not to come and try and attack you. They know the consequences if they try and harm you," he said. I wasn't scared. I knew my lord would protect me, like he did back when I was a kid. I turned to look up at him and gave him a soft smile.
"Yes my lord," I said. Before the door was opened he claimed my lips again. I guess he did that to make sure they were really marked. He released his lips from mine just as the doors slid open.
Several hours later I was back in my room. The maid Nagisa had brought me another cup of fresh hot tea. Holding my cup I went out on to the patio to look at the stars. It was so beautiful. I was so preoccupied looking up to the night sky that I didn't hear the front door open. Thats when in two arms wrap around me. I was scared for only a few second until I heard him same my name again.
"Rin," Lord Sesshomaru said. He spoke so softy. He took the cup from my hand and placed it to the ground. He then wrapped his arms back around me. I felt him pull back my hair off of my shoulders. Ummm? What is he doing? I heard him speak softly again.
"Rin don't move an inch. Your scent is very powerful and very intoxicating. I want to take in more of it. But I won't go to far. I'll take it easy with you because your so fragile," he said. I felt him move his lips along the side of my neck. I could tell his lips were a bit parted. The reason why I knew that was because I could feel his breath and sometimes his tongue. I was very nervous but kept my composure. Closing my eyes I let him take in my scent. As he was still taking in my scent I would hear a slight growl coming from deep inside him. I wonder if this amused him? I soon felt him turn me around so I could face him.
Lord Sesshomaru placed a hand to the side of my face. He then leaned in and pressed his lips to mine. Soon after our lips parted he whispered in my ear.
"Get some sleep Rin and I expect you to join me for breakfast," he said.
"Yes, and good night my lord," I said. He claimed my lips once more then he walked out of my room. I had to blush as I went to sit in my bed. I decided to leave the patio door open to allow some fresh air in tonight. Laying in my bed now I began to wonder if my lord is starting to fall in love with me. Then I began to wonder if I'm falling in love with him. I never really felt the need to love someone before. But now I feel like it's time. I was starting to feel tired that I closed my eyes and went to sleep.
I'm really sorry for re-uploading my chapters. I'm trying to improve myself as a writer and want to make the story even better. I wanted to add more to this story as I wanted to give Rin more of a character. I promise the plot of story will remain the same. A few small things might change. But not much. A better lemons chapter will be added.
