10. Letter

The kitchen was silent as they waited. Abigail was staring out the window, biting her lip much like her mother often did. "Its not coming is it?" She asked, turning to look at her parents. "My letter isn't coming." Fred picked up the 11-year-old and smiled at her. "Of course its coming Abi, don't you worry about it." Abigail pouted and crossed her arms, staring at her father. "Don't you lie to me, you have to say that, you're my dad." "Daddy's not lying Abi, your birdies gunna come soon." Came a little boys voice from his seat beside his mother. Abigail glanced at him and smiled slightly, her eyes softening as they landed on the 6 year old. "I guess you're right Callum, I'm sure it'll come, it has to, right?" She looked at Bree, her eyes wide.

"Of course it will dear. I thought I was going to be the first Squib in my family, but my owl just got a little lost." She replied, smiling at the red-haired girl. "Look! Abi! Look! Your birdie!" Abigail immediatly turned towards the window at her brothers yell, a smile on her face. She ran to the window, throwing it open and bouncing up and down as the owl swooped in and landed on the table, sticking its leg out. "Well, there's your letter Abi." Fred commented, grinning at his daughter.
