C'mon let me show you your room", we walked upstairs into the office.
"This should suffice, right?" I said. It was the room Michonne was staying in.
"I'll get those blankets from the last time you stayed with me", a few minutes later I came in with a blue fleece blanket and a purple heart pillow.
"Take a nap, you're safe here. When you're done come downstairs and get some food." I said. "Ok." I closed the door gently behind me and walked into my room.
"Hi", I said to Daryl who was laying on his bed.
"Hey", he said smirking.
"What?" I said. "I don't know", he grabbed me by the waist and swung me over him. He kissed me softly. I smiled.
"So... What was that stuff about your dad?" he asked. "What about 'em?"
"What did he do to you?" he said. I pulled my shirt off and showed him my back. There were scars all over it.
"My dad would beat me... He wasn't drunk. He knew what he was doing, and he liked it." I started to tear up. Daryl comforted me. "Some days I would come home from school and he would just start hitting me with whatever he could find, shoes, remotes", I continued.
"Where was you're mom?" he said. "She really didn't care about me. The only person that knew what I was going through was Jordan."
"I just want you to know I will NEVER hurt you, EVER. Do you understand?" he said cradling my face. "I sort of went through the same thing." he said lifting his shirt. I ran my fingers along each one. I knew there was something similar about us. I just knew it.
I got up and made lunch for the group. I made 7 big cans of cream of potato soup. I yelled upstairs to everyone in their rooms. Jordan walks downstairs with Michonne, "You two look buddy-buddy" I said.
"We were talking about our katanas", Jordan said. Everyone sat at the table. Jordan sat down last. We all ate. Jordan ate like she hadn't ate in days.
"How long were you at the hideout?" I asked. "A couple of months." Jordan said.
"Jordan! There was no food there!" I said. "I know, but that was the only place I felt safe", she said.
"Well, you should've found a store or something." I said. She shook her head.
Rick stood up and said, "Some people need to go on a run". "I'll go", Glen said.
"I'll go too", Daryl said. I looked at him like please don't go! He looked back and said, "I'll be fine."
After lunch Daryl and Glen got ready to go. Daryl kissed me on the head and was out the door. Glen did the same to Maggie. I didn't leave my room till they came back. I didn't want the same thing to happen to them that happened to my dad. I'd really grown to care for these people. Maggie seemed not to be concerned that they left.
"You're not worried?" I asked. "Of course I am, but I know that he will come back. He always does." she said.
