Their trip back to Whaletail Island was quiet and solemn. Zuko told Katara most of what had happened, but he did not tell her about the next Avatar. Katara knew Zuko was keeping something from her, but she also knew Zuko would open up to her in time.
When they arrived back, Sokka gave them the third degree.
"Where have you been? Do you know how worried everyone was?" Sokka demanded.
Katara splashed some water in his face.
"Calm down Sokka. We're alright. We found Yakone," said Katara.
"You WHAT?!" Sokka asked in disbelief then he rounded on Zuko, "Where were you? You're suppose to be looking out for her, not putting her in danger."
"What's all the ruckus? Are they back?" Toph asked.
"Yes, we're back," said Zuko.
"About time. Your children were about to send a search party after you," said Toph.
"We're sorry," said Zuko and Katara together.
"We managed to track down Yakone, and Aang took away his bending," said Zuko.
"Aang did? I thought... How is that possible?" Sokka questioned.
"The solstice," said Katara.
"Oh," said Sokka.
"Does someone want to fill me in?" Toph asked.
"It's when the line between the Spirit World and physical world blur," said Kya.
"So where's Yakone now? It doesn't look like you have him with you," Bumi commented.
"He got away," said Katara solemnly.
"Aang took over Katara's body to remove Yakone's bending. Afterwards Katara was drained, so I went over to her and that's when Yakone escaped," said Zuko.
"Hmph," said Toph, "We could have went with you as back up."
"We're back now. And we're safe," said Katara as she put her hand over her stomach. Kya, Bumi, and Tenzin hugged Katara.
"We're glad you're back," said Kya. She elbowed Tenzin.
"Yeah, and we support your decision to remarry," said Tenzin.
"We're here for you Mom," said Bumi.
Katara cried tears of joy. Then she looked at Izumi. Izumi nodded.
"Come join the group Izumi," said Katara. Izumi looked at her father before joining. Then Katara said, "Come on everyone."
Everyone joined, Zuko was the last to join.
"This feels like old times," said Sokka.
"But without Aang," said Toph. Then the group hug ended.
"So, when is the big day?" Izumi asked.
Zuko looked at Katara, then said, "Next week."
"Next week?!" Tenzin exclaimed.
"Will Grandmother or Aunt Kiyi be here?" Izumi asked.
"I thought Mom was watching Iroh for you," said Zuko.
"You didn't tell Ursa?!" Katara said as she glared at Zuko. Zuko prepared himself to be hit with water, but instead Katara burst into tears.
"I'm sure Zuko was just worried about Iroh," said Sokka.
Katara hit Sokka with a wave of water. Then she went inside escorted by Izumi and Kya.
"I guess I will contact my mother and Kiyi," said Zuko.
"Why don't you just go and bring her back," Bumi suggested.
"Yeah, we could go with you on Oogi," said Tenzin.
Zuko and Bumi looked at Tenzin in utter disbelief.
"I'll watch over things here while you're gone. Just don't be gone too long," said Sokka to Zuko.
