AN: Hello, please excuse my ridiculously long disappearance. I've been studying for finals for the past couple weeks and literally that's about all I did. Anyway, I'm back now.
Thanks you to whirlwind29, AFLlover, .Malfoy, and RedPandaPatronus for reviewing!
When Harry and Ron arrived back at Neville's home, Neville was sitting in the kitchen waiting for them. When he heard the door open he stood quickly to see who it was and was visibly relieved when he realized it was just his friends.
"Harry, Ron," he smiled. "I talked to Narcissa Malfoy like you asked. I'm almost positive that neither she nor her husband are aware that the Death Eaters have made a comeback, and she's very worried about her son. How was it on your end?"
"Well," Harry hesitated. "There are quite a few Death Eaters, and quite a few of them are from Hogwarts. Most of them are pretty young. Most important thing, though, is that one of them is a spy for the Ministry. He told us to go away and come back with reinforcements if we want to save Draco, and after surveying the situation, I think we should take his advice."
"There's a spy?" Neville appeared shocked, and Harry nodded. "Who?"
"Zabini," Ron said immediately. When Harry appeared uneasy that Ron had shared this information, Ron simply shrugged. "Look, if you have a plan that you think could work people at least need to know who is potentially on their side. So, has Hermione found any way to get rid of the tracking spell?"
"Well, yes, technically she has, but we need Malfoy to do it. He has to cast a disenchantment charm."
Ron groaned loudly and asked why.
"He needs to be the one to get rid of it, since it's because of him she has it. One more reason to get him back, I suppose," Neville sighed. "How is Scorpius?"
"Well, he seems to be alright, but I suppose I can see what you mean about him being sort of, I don't know, nicer than his father at that age? He doesn't have the same malice about him."
"No, he's a bit of a snob sure, but he's not a bully," Neville agreed. "He does ask a lot of questions, though- could get him in trouble. So, what's your plan?"
"Well," Harry chuckled softly. "Get as many people we can trust as we can and go for it?"
"Who do you think you'll be able to get?"
"Ginny, Luna, George, George, maybe Cho. I'll try to get the old group back together."
"Do you really think that they'll want to go on a mission saving Malfoy? I mean, he's Malfoy. We might feel bad for his kid, but still…" Ron trailed off when Harry gave a deep sigh.
"We can try, anyway. We'll tell them all that Hermione has this tracking spell and only Malfoy can get rid of it. Zabini said the sooner we do this, the better. Judging by the fact they've started to give Draco strange potions, Zabini's probably right."
"Strange potions?" Neville asked, and Harry told him about the green potion, to which Neville winced.
"I see," Neville nodded. "Well I can contact Luna if you want, also Hannah might be up for it. I could also call up Dean since I'm still in good contact with him. He might agree."
"I'll tell George," Ron pronounced. "I could also tell Bill. He might be up for it, maybe."
"Good," Harry smiled. "We're getting a team together, just what we need to do. The sooner the better, Zabini said, and it's looking like sooner will work."
Scorpius began to stir slowly, his eyes blinking open against light that seemed to harsh somehow. After a few moments he lifted his head only to remember where he was and groan softly. Suddenly wondering where his father's protective arm around him had disappeared to, Scorpius turned to glance into the cell beside him, and his heart dropped.
"Father?" Scorpius asked quietly. "Father, are you okay?"
Scorpius swallowed as he watched his father leaned against the wall, his eyes shut tightly and his skin pallor. His breath hitched as Scorpius called him again uneasily. Scorpius reached through the bars and tried to reach for his father and shake him to see if he'd wake up. When Scorpius's hand brushed against his father's, Scorpius gasped and pulled back. His father's hand was so cold!
"Father?" Scorpius asked again, though his asking was in vain. After a moment Scorpius raised his voice and called out: "Help, something is wrong with my father! Help!"
There was no response, and so Scorpius yelled again. After a moment the door opened quickly and a thin man entered, closing the door shut tight behind him.
"Shh, be quiet or more people will hear you," the man told Scorpius, who seemed confused.
"Uncle Theo? Why are you here?" Scorpius asked, and Theodore Nott swallowed uneasily, glancing at the door as if he very much wanted to dart out of the room. When Nott didn't continue, Scorpius did. "My father is really sick or something! He won't wake up, and he's really cold!"
"Yes, I know," Nott nodded. "They gave him a potion. Don't worry Scorpius, it'll be okay eventually."
"Can't you help him?" Scorpius begged the man, who shook his head.
"Why are you here, anyway?" Scorpius asked. "You're here, and Mr. Zabini is here too, I saw him! And I saw Draven for a second. Is he here because you're here?"
"Don't ask so many questions," Theo reprimanded Scorpius quickly. "And yes, Draven is here because I'm here. That's the only reason."
"Do you know Prenn? He's kind of nice. Why is he here?" Scorpius continued to speak, however Nott told him to keep quiet. Scorpius was about to ask why when the door opened, and Theo tensed visibly for a moment before he quickly looked bored as he glanced over to the door.
"You are not guarding the door," it was the dark cloaked man who walked in, and Theo shook his head.
"No, the child was yelling, so I came him to tell him to keep quiet."
"I see. You should go back to do your job, Theodore."
Nott hesitated, before he locked eyes with Scorpius. He stood for a moment before he walked out of the room, shutting the door quietly behind himself.
"Now," the dark cloaked man turned to Scorpius, who had quieted. This man made Scorpius feel very uneasy, and he wasn't going to speak up when Vin was in the room. Vin seemed to bring a foreboding aura with him, and he made Scorpius want to curl up in the corner.
"Scorpius Malfoy," Vin's voice was almost a purr, and Scorpius curled into himself, hugging his knees uneasily. "You look so much like your father when he was your age. I'm sure he's very proud to have a son like you. I'm sure he's very proud to have a son at all. I too heard you calling for help earlier. I'm afraid your father has been given poison. He might recover. I hear you ask a lot of questions. You're rather quiet now."
"Yes sir," Scorpius mumbled quietly.
"Did you know your father and I attended Hogwarts together? We were once very good friends until your father betrayed me. Feel free to ask me questions as well. I was just like Mr. Goyle, who I've heard goes to visit you sometimes. I've wizened up a bit though; he's rather stayed the same."
"Yes sir," Scorpius mumbled again.
"Do you call Gregory Goyle sir?" Vin asked, and Scorpius shook his head once. "Then go ahead and call me Mr. Crabbe. We were always the same to your father; we deserve to be titled the same way to our dear old friend's son."
Scorpius nodded his head minutely, his eyes turning to the ground.
"Has he really never mentioned me?" Mr. Crabbe asked, and Scorpius shrugged.
"I don't know who you are," he pointed out quietly.
"He's never mentioned Crabbe?"
"Well, yes, but Crabbe died; my father said so," Scorpius stated. "So you must be someone else."
"What if I told you that I was the same Crabbe, and that your father left me to die?"
"He wouldn't do that," Scorpius raised his voice a little.
Crabbe chuckled softly, and Scorpius curled into himself again.
"Well look, your precious father is waking up."
Scorpius turned to see his father slowly stirring, his gaze unfocused.
"Father, wake up," Scorpius urged.
"Yes, wake up," Crabbe chuckled darkly. "The sooner the better."
Scorpius ignored Crabbe and he reached through the bars to shake his father's shoulder. Draco blinked his eyes open focusing on Scorpius for a moment, before his gaze traveled to Crabbe, and his eyes narrowed.
"Hello, Malfoy," Crabbe hissed, and Draco was sure he felt his heart stop for a moment. That voice- it was so familiar. "You recognize my voice, I can tell. It's the only thing anyone can recognize. You saw to that, didn't you Malfoy? I stopped following your every command, and you saw to it that I was disposed of, didn't you, Malfoy? You wizened me up, especially when I had to take care of my batty mother. You destroyed everything for all your old so called friends. Do you ever feel any regret about it?"
Draco was silent, his gaze rather muddled and confused. Clearly the potion had clouded his judgment, for as his eyes narrowed again he asked softly why the man was wearing a hood. Crabbe laughed jovially.
"Oh, would you like to see, Draco? See what happened when you left me to die in the fire?"
Crabbe reached for his hood, however just then the door burst open.
"The wards just went up. Apparently the house is being attacked," Nott told Crabbe. "Perhaps you should go see?"
Crabbe's head turned back to the Malfoys for a moment, before he nodded and disappeared from the room. Nott stood there for a moment, before he left to stand outside the door. Scorpius watched Nott leave with unease. Were people coming to save them? They'd better hurry, because Scorpius was beginning to feel even tenser about everything that was going on.
