A/N Okay a little hiatus for art and story improvement, I am sorry, but I wont be showing the improvement in my already in progress stories well not full changes to what's in motion, you will notice the improvements, but I am going to keep it in the style I started with… Any way I am back, but the updates to this and any story is going to take some time… unfortunately…
Private figured it was nothing and started to make his way over to Belize's habitat to talk to Becky, if she was awake, he didn't want to disrupt her sleep if she is asleep, he jumped over the rope fence and looked around he didn't see anything, he then started to think Belize had lied to him, and started to get into a fighting stance in case it was a trap.
Private looked around and started to circle navigate through the habitat until he saw a dark furred badger laying on a bed of leaves, he then rushed over to it and slowly made his way to check on it. Suddenly Private felt a paw on his back and he jumped and turned around and saw Belize telling him to be quiet.
Private was looking around and then finally after catching his breath slowed his breathing and started to relax a little, he then got up to Belize and whispered, "What did you do that for?" Belize shrugged and whispered back "I was just trying to get you to realize that she's still asleep and was slightly concerned you were going to wake her up." Private shook his head.
"I have common sense Belize; I wouldn't interrupt something for or of someone unless it's important and involves life or death situations, which we normally try to keep from those situations, unless of course K-walski is testing something." Private then put his flippers up to his beak. Belize just laughed a little, "Come on Private it's not a secret that he is a scientist and does experiments." Private looked around, "Umm yeah let's go with that, any way I better get back to my habitat the zoo should be opening soon."
Private then slid to the rope fence jumped out and started to make his way to his habitat, Belize looked at him slightly confused, but also mostly relieved. "Dang, pushed a little too hard, he probably thinks I am involved in what happened." Belize sighed and then went over to Becky.
Belize slightly shook her, she moaned a little, Belize sighed, "Okay good she's fine, I don't think we need something to happen to any more of the animals." Belize then sighed and covered Becky with a leafy blanket and then made his way to look around the zoo.
Private went into the headquarters. "Well look who finally shown up? Do you know how late you are to the party?" Skipper said finally awake and feeling much better from earlier, "I told you Rico, that he just needed to sleep off whatever was wrong with him, but then again it is strange how something that seemed so devastating lasted a short amount of time." Kowalski then examined Skipper and then pulled up the clipboard.
"Okay just a few quick questions." Skipper moaned in annoyance, "How is this going to help Kowalski? I am feeling better and that's all that matters." Kowalski sighed and looked at him, "But Skip-" Skipper went up to him grabbed his head and pulled it close to his face. "I am feeling better, and that's all that matters soldier, is that clear?" Kowalski nodded Skipper let him go.
"Now what is on the agenda?" Private looked around trying to figure out how to tell the others that Stacey was dead, Private was itching to tell them, but he couldn't just out right say it, could he? Private figured he could get them to somehow over hear it from someone, but whom?
Private then figured he would let Belize tell them, but how could he get them over to his habitat without making it known he had information that they didn't. Private then smiled as he could say that Belize has been acting a little suspicious, Skipper smiled when Private mentioned it, "Well let's go see what we can figure out from the spy." The four started to make their way out of the habitat and down to Belize's.
Skipper was the first to make it in, he looked around and smelled something familiar in the habitat, but he didn't know what it was for sure, but he hid behind a tree and signaled the others to join him. Skipper then went from tree to tree without being seen, until he heard Belize.
"Look okay, I was passing by the vets office earlier, and well…" Belize's voice stopped Skipper then signaled them to hide within earshot, but not to give away that they are eavesdropping on them.
Belize sighed "I really don't know how to tell you this, but…" Belize just moaned in anger and then started to talk to himself in front of Becky. "Come on Belize why can't you just tell her, it's not that hard just imagine you are alone and you are talking to yourself." Belize then slapped himself. "Yeah, what did you think I was doing you fool? I just for some reason can't tell her that her sister is dead. It's just…. Oh yeah that easy." Belize then smiled shortly he managed to finally say it, but then quickly turned to regret that he smiled after saying it.
"Oh please Becky don't take that smile to mean what you thought, I just did it because I managed to tell you something that was really hard for me to do." Becky was sitting there crying Belize went over to her, "Its okay Becky, I am pretty sure the vet has done his best to help her." Becky then grabbed Belize and pulled him over to her and put her face in his chest and started to cry on him.
Belize sighed and slightly annoyed his fur was getting wet, but he knew he couldn't be rude to her so he just sat there and let her cry on him. "I know it's hard to lose a relative, but don't let it get you down, they know you loved them and they would rather have you going on strong while they aren't there." Becky continued to cry.
Belize sighed "Come on out guys I know you are here." Skipper, Rico, and Kowalski stepped out shocked about the news of Stacey and even a little bit extra from how Belize knew they were there. Becky suddenly looked up. "Sk-Skipper, please you have t-to find out who d-did this." Becky then leaned against Belize again and started to wipe her eyes with his fur.
Belize was relieved she stopped soaking his fur, but then got a little annoyed again when she used him as a tissue, and pulled away from her fast nearly making her fall into the dirt, "I am sorry about that Becky, but there's a certain extent I will go of getting my fur wet and I really don't want to have to bathe to get out any mucus." Becky looked at him disappointed, Belize sighed and ran away.
Becky started to cry hard again, Skipper and Private got up to her, "Mammal, what happened?" While Becky was telling her story to the penguins Belize was away washing the tears out of his fur, and he then grabbed a few cloth-like materials he could find and quickly made his way back to the others.
Once he got back he heard Becky just finishing up her story that she told him, he then sighed, and grabbed a couple of the materials. "So did you tell them after it?" she looked at him, "What do you mean?" Belize smiled "I came in while you were talking about telling me the story. I think they would like to know the rest…" Belize then looked at the penguins and they all, except for Private, seemed interested in more.
"Well after she told me the story…" Becky tackled him, "No I will tell them." Becky got off of Belize and used the cloth to clear her eyes of tears. Once she finished wiping them down, she started to take deep breaths to steel her nerves. "Well after I told him, he was trying to help me calm down, and well I kissed him, after he hinted I could stay with him for a few days." Private giggled and Rico started to gag. Becky noticed this, "What's wrong with him?" Skipper sighed "Well that is classified information mammal, but I can tell you are fine with keeping things classified." Kowalski and Private was shocked that Skipper was possibly going to tell someone some kind of classified information.
"How-ever without putting you through a test of loyalty, I will not give the full details, but let's say Rico here, really dislikes cute things." Becky looked at him and started to ponder what he meant until she realized what he meant by 'cute' "Oh okay." She then laughed a little, using the laughter to at least try and lighten her mood. Belize got up and started to wipe off the dirt that started to cling to his fur. "Aww I just cleaned the fur too. All well I guess I could always go for a swim."
Skipper glared at Belize, Belize just smiled. "Oh you think I mean in the zoo, nah… I have several places that are relaxing that I can swim in, in the middle of the day while the humans think that I'm asleep in the trees." Belize started to make his way to his habitat, "Becky I will leave the set up for whenever you want, and I will keep an eye out for anything suspicious." Belize slowly walked away and then said for the penguins and Becky. "This has happened before, and if my feelings are correct they will come back to finish the job, or take another in their place."
Skipper quickly slid on his belly in the direction of Belize's habitat trying to catch up with him to see what he meant by that, but Skipper made it all the way to the habitat without seeing a single piece of evidence that the albino raccoon was around, almost like he vanished into the blue.
Private, Rico, Becky, and Kowalski looked at each other trying to figure out what was going on, then they figured to follow Skipper, they saw him sitting just outside Belize's habitat looking around. "Skipper, we might have something dangerous here." Skipper looked around and started to analyze everything.
A figure sits on the wall next to the bell tower, "You penguins, think you are so smart, hah, your whole organization has been hunting me for sometime, and you think your little group can do what many others can't? Well then let us see what lessons I can teach you." Suddenly there was rustling in the bushes just behind underneath the wall.
"What the hell did you kill the badger for, you know who the target is and the ones we need to get rid of." The figure shrugged, "She put up a fight, she was a bit stronger then she looked, but lucky for them its not who they think it is that's dead… I need to congratulate the otter that painted another badger to look like her."
"Wait, that wasn't her?" The figure smiled, "No just a random badger that was planning to destroy everything in the zoo, so we replaced them, the badger you seem to be worried about is fine, she won't remember a thing." the other figure looked around, "You better be right because if that badgers sister gets suspicious it will ruin a lot."
The shadow sighed "She starts a problem we will make her disappear, we have our targets and we are toying with them, but you know we don't eliminate any civilians." The other figure sighed, "Better not be lying, because you know I will find out easily." The shadow sighed "Like I said we have the targets, and no civilian has been hurt, yet but we will need to mess with a couple so they don't get too suspicious."
The other figure nodded and jumped into the zoo and started to head to the penguins habitat while they were busy over by Belize's habitat. The shadow on the wall, "Come on Skipper, I know you should be smarter then this." There was a bright flash as a lightning storm was starting to form darkening the sky the shadow figure on the wall was gone.
A/N Yes another chapter down, and I just opened up more questions then solving any… Which sort of is the point, and This little twist was inspired by an actual event of a story that was based on a real case and I liked that I could add the twist in fairly well, but now the questions coming up…
1. Who was the dead badger if it wasn't Stacey? 2. Where is Stacey? 3. Who are the shadow figures? 4. Will Skipper really figure out what's going on before its too late? Well we shall see…
