-Bruhliciousbro- Thank you for your kind words. I hope you enjoy this chapter.
Link watched as the large boar bore down on the trio. His comrades were quick as they charged forward. Out of the corner of his eye, he watched the beautiful way they fought. Without even speaking, they coordinated their attacks. However, Link noticed something wrong. Neither of their blades caused damage. The large pig didn't even react as they sliced at his hide. The Master Sword itself didn't cause any harm as well. The beast turned his large head. There was a startled gasped and Link turned to see that the creature's large tusk dug its way into Rahzel's side. The woman backed quickly before the beast could do anymore damage.
Link backflipped back as well as the beast turned his head to attack him. The large tusks missed him entirely. "Link, we're going to distract it. And you'll run past it," Ghirahim said.
"We can take it down," Link shouted back as he sliced again but the master sword still not breaking the pig's hide. He growled to himself but Ghirahim was right. None of their weapons could harm the strange beast. He gave the king a nod and took a step back. The pair stepped forward. Ghirahim held his two rapiers confidently while Rahzel held onto her blade in her left hand while her right hung limply down. The beast was distracted by the two for a moment and Link ran past them as quickly as he could.
He turned around and nocked an arrow. He drew back the drawstring and anchored it to the corner of his mouth. He watched as Ghirahim drew the beast's attention. Rahzel limped as quickly as she could passed the beast. As soon as she was at Link's side, she paused to catch her breath. Link launched his arrow as the beast turned his head to watch the Hylians escape. The arrow flew true and stuck the boar in the eye. It squealed shrilly and shook its head. Ghirahim used this moment to join the two Hylians.
"Nice shot," Rahzel said.
"It's always the eyes," Link said with a shrug. The beast, however, didn't crumble and die, but turned to face the trio. Its one good eye glowed an evil purple. The hero looked at the pair. They didn't look like they could continue to fight much longer. Rahzel was practically gray with the amount of blood she lost; her eyes were distant. Ghirahim was breathing hard. The boar wasn't concern for the well-being of the combatants and galloped toward them. The three didn't have time to dodge the large animal. Link held his breath as the weight of the beast crushed him under its hooves.
The boar stopped its stomping for a moment and Link felt something brush his shoulder. The hero's vision filled with diamonds. When the diamonds cleared, Link found himself in another green corridor. He pushed himself gingerly. "Do you know where you teleported us, Ghirahim?" He asked. There was no response. Link turned to the two. Ghirahim was on his back looking at the sky and Rahzel was on her uninjured side curled up. "Ghirahim? Rahzel?" He called out to see if they moved. They didn't acknowledge him.
A piggish squeal sounded nearby. Link looked up and saw the pig at the end of the green corridor. Thinking quickly, Link reached into his bag and pulled out a bomb and his bow and arrow. He attached the bomb to the tip of the arrow and shot it at the beast. The projectile flew true and struck the beast in the eye. The bomb on the tip exploded within the boar's head. The monster stopped and crumbled to the ground. "That sounded gross," Rahzel's voice wisped.
There was a chuckle from Ghirahim, "I guess we're having pork." Link sighed, guess the two weren't dead. Link pushed himself to his knees and then shaky to his feet.
He looked at his companions. The pair looked horrible. Both were barely conscience. Link reached into his pouch and pulled out a red potion. He looked from one to the other trying to decide which to heal first. He chose quickly and knelt by Ghirahim. The hero lifted his head and slowly tipped the bottle forward. The demon king gagged but gently swallowed the potion. The taller man's hand shot up and held onto the bottle. Link let go of it as Ghirahim pulled the bottle away. The other king pushed the bottle into Link's hand before crawling to Rahzel's side.
He put both hands onto the wound on her side. She gasped slightly, but that was the only noise from her. After several tense moments, Rahzel sat up with Ghirahim's help. Once the two were situated, they looked to Link. It seemed none of them knew what to say to the others. Link at last spoke up, "We need to stop," he said.
"What are you talking about?" Rahzel said still slightly out of breath.
"We need to work as a team," Link said at last. Rahzel looked down feeling guilty.
"I agree, Link," Ghirahim said at last. He held his hand out to Link. "Allies then at least till we're out of here."
Link grinned goofily, "Allies." He took the other king's hand and gave it a strong shake. He looked to Rahzel who also smiled and nodded her head. "We should get moving and find a place to camp for the night," Link said at last. Ghirahim nodded his agreement and got slowly to his feet; he pulled Rahzel into a standing position. She wobbled slightly but otherwise looked okay.
Link led the way forward holding his sword in front of him. It chimed softly and Fi flipped out of the blade. "Link," Fi said with a smile, "I sense a large amount of water along this path. It may prove to be suitable for a safe location."
Link gave Fi a smile. He then agreed to let her lead the group. It was strange that since Demise's resurrection that the sword maiden became more and more human. Fi would sometimes still break down into facts and figures, but Link enjoyed having her around. The sound of rushing water drew the hero from his thoughts.
The green walls of the maze widened to hold a small pond with a stream running to the distance. The white-haired pair sighed in relief and collapsed to the ground. Link lowered himself near the water's edge. "So, fearless leader, what are we going to do now?" Ghirahim asked; his question startled Link. Why would the proud demon ask him to lead? "I suggest that we build a fire to keep any other creatures away and set up a watch schedule," Link said falling into the position of leader easily.
"We should also gather water and, if we can find some, food," Ghirahim said. "We only have food for about three more days."
"About the same for water as well," Rahzel piped up.
"Okay, Rahzel, fill up any jars or containers we have with water. Ghirahim, can you dress the boar that we killed? And Fi, can you collected any fruits?" Ghirahim answered affirmative and started back the way the group came. He turned around to give Rahzel a nod before getting out of sight. Fi was the next to leave spinning for a second before choosing a direction. She floated down a corridor.
"Link," Rahzel spoke up as she juggled various jars and canteens. "Ghirahim and I were speaking." The woman paused as she filled up a canteen.
"What's wrong?" Link asked as she paused.
"I have a favor to ask you," she said. "If we get into serious trouble, I want you to save Ghirahim. Even if you have to take him away in his sword form. I want him to be safe."
Link placed a hand on her shoulder. He didn't say another word because he wasn't sure he would be able to separate the two and wasn't sure if he could handle Ghirahim if Rahzel was lost. The simple gesture though seem to calm the woman. He hoped silently to himself that he wouldn't have to make that choice.
