A/N: Time for the next to last chapter of this story. I have only two more chapters to go before I'm done. Mostly updates to crossovers, oc/si stories and dc/twd/ph/pmm/drrr fics. Anything else is probably dead. Only 27 fics are being updated. After this one, it's just 26.

So now we are onto Kida's backstory (yes, it's Kida in the pmmm/magi world, so no connection to compromised reality kida).

Chapter 10 I won't stop fighting

The teacher looked at the new student as he stood there, fidgeting nervously. He was not confident, very shy and indecisive, busy twiddling his thumbs.

"Well, introduce yourself." The teacher urged.

He opened his mouth to speak. "Um...my name is Masaomi Kida. Please take good care of me."

The students all eyed him, including a red-head who seemed to like him, judging by her flushed cheeks.

Unlike his present self, Kida had his hair shorter and neater than he did while pretending to be "Alibaba", and looked at everyone nervously as he went to sit down.

The red-head, introduced as Kougyoku Ren and the bluenette, as Dunya, came over and asked him endless questions about himself.

"Where do you come from?"

"Um, Tokyo." He muttered, looking at them, a bit annoyed by the constant questions.

"Did you dye your hair?" Dunya asked a question next.

"Yes," He said in annoyance, wishing he could just be at home in his room. He was not very good with this whole socializing thing at all and wished he could disappear.

A new person stood in front of him, one with blue hair, a hair color he had never seen before. Kida stared into his blue eyes, wondering if he could ask him anything, when the kid spoke up.

"Do you know where everything is? My name's Aladdin and I could guide you around."

Not being a people person, Aladdin did most of the talking while Kida strayed behind him, his hands in his pockets, regretting every second of this.

"So what's your first name?" Aladdin asked, "Is it Kida...?"

"Masaomi." He stressed, feeling more annoyed than before. Why couldn't he just get socialization right?

"That's a good name, Masaomi-san!" He yelled.

"Just use my regular name." He said.

"Sure thing, Masaomi." He said, smiling at him.

For the first time in a while, Kida felt good about himself, even though he did so-so in school, particularly in history and English class, where he routinely fell asleep. He was very athletic, though.

On his way back home, that was when, as Kida remembered, he had fallen into a Djinn's dungeon, one that he didn't remember the name of. He had been astounded at the sight of all of the stuff inside it, and nearly been killed before Aladdin and Kassim had saved him and explained what everything was and who they were.

"We're magi, we use these metal vessels to fight off these djinn." Aladdin explained.

Kida watched with wide eyes, unable to believe that such a thing existed.

It was awesome.

"They're formed from contracts with me." Said the cat-like creature near him that was balancing a peach on its back.

"Masaomi-san, please keep this a secret at school." Aladdin advised him and Masaomi nodded eagerly, not wanting to upset his new friend.

It had been a while since he had had one of those.

He had visited the man named Kassim's apartment for dinner, where he learned that Aladdin had been contracted for just a short while.

Kida looked down at the ground, wishing he, too, could be as awesome as them.

In those days, he had his head in the clouds.

However, things got bad when the Dark Djinns showed up and proved too strong for Kassim to handle, who died rather painfully after being stabbed by one.

Aladdin, however, was enveloped in a strange light and managed to defeat all of them while Kida shielded his eyes. When the light was gone, he opened his eyes again to see a dead Aladdin at his feet. Kida shook him, but he wouldn't wake up.

Heartbreak swept over him as tears came down out of his eyes. "Why did you have to die like this, Aladdin? If only I could be strong enough to protect you, this shit wouldn't have happened!" He sobbed.

"Could ya make a wish on that, maybe, kid?" A familiar voice broke him out of his thoughts as he wiped his tears away and looked up, in time to see Judar sitting there, eating another peach.

"You could do that?" He asked hesitantly.

"Yeah, of course I could. You have it in you to be powerful. What's yer wish?" He said in boredom. "Remember, ya can never go back from it."

"I want to meet Aladdin once again. Instead of being protected by him and his friends, I want to be the one doing the protecting." He stated simply, and there was a flash of light, and a simple little thing fell into his lap.

"There ya have it," Judar remarked as reality distorted around him, sending flashes of light and colors about him as suddenly a phoenix flew around him, covering him with fire.

"I'll help you," A soft feminine voice whispered. It was a red-headed girl similar to Kougyoku, but not quite. Apparently, she made up the spirit of the sword that he was given from his contract with Judar.

He awoke back in his house in Tokyo, before he had moved there.

He knew what he had to do. He had to find more weapons, and so he practiced with the others and his flame skills got better. At first, he wasn't much good, preferring to instead use his fists. That, and the spirit of the sword, Morgiana as she called herself, fought alongside him.

"I'm surprised you aren't afraid of being a puer magi, Masaomi-san." Aladdin remarked, astonished at how enthusiastic the other was about the whole thing.

The two of them trained him, and noted that while he was still awkward in battle, he was getting the hang of it.

The thing is, that after combining the sword with Morgiana's flame powers, he was better at fighting off the djinns.

However, the same thing still happened. Aladdin still died and Kassim as well.

While Aladdin was dying, something odd happened to his metal vessel.

Aladdin writhed as Kida watched in horror.

Something giant and gross-looking emerged from it, it was a djinn.

The metal vessel users were the exact same as the djinns they fought against, Kida realized in horror. He had to tell someone. He had to tell all of them.

He and Morgiana flew back in time again, and this time the two of them agreed that he should tell them about it.

He woke up in the same place and instantly felt cold anger fly into him at the knowledge of what Judar was really doing.

"What the heck are you trying to say?" Kougyoku cried, looking hostile towards him, which startled him. He'd thought that they were good friends. "Judar-chan would never do such a thing! He's helping us!"

"It's the truth," Kida began and Morgiana nodded.

"You two are just up to no good, just like Hakuryuu!" She cried, "Is this because you want me to stop using magic or something? Well, it won't happen. Besides, I don't like being near his flames, he could just burn me up or turn me into steam!"

"Let's not fight." Aladdin advised.

"Let's try and figure something out. Maybe try not to exaggerate so much, Kida-san." Kassim suggested.

From that moment on, Kida hated Kassim with all his might.

Kida even stole some different weapons, like some small knives, but they did not please Kougyoku, whose attitude toward him had soured even more. He couldn't even get her to talk to him properly without her turning away from him.

"She hates me and I like her!" He complained to Morgiana, who sighed.

"I don't know what you should do." She said.

Then, to his surprise, Kougyoku turned into a djinn like a dragon and later on, they had to fight her off.

"Kougyoku-san, please come back!" Aladdin screamed.

"Snap out of it, cousin!" Hakuryuu cried.

So the two of them were related, then? Kida couldn't say he wasn't surprised.

"Please!" Morgiana begged.

Kida wound up using Morgiana's flames again to ultimately end Kougyoku's suffering, although he cried a lot during it.

Everyone stood in stunned silence as Aladdin cried.

"Kougyoku-san..." He muttered.

"Dammit, I couldn't save another family member." Hakuryuu muttered.

Suddenly, Kassim stabbed his vessel, destroying it and sending a dead Hakuryuu to the ground.

"What are you doing?" Kida said in alarm.

Kassim looked deranged as he spoke. "If that's our fate, perhaps we should just reverse it and kill all of us ourselves!" He said, smiling as he pointed his sword at Kida next.

However, a magic blast hit him, killing him.

Kida realized that Aladdin had shielded him and Morgiana from the blow, using his magic.

The two of them cried hysterically.

The three of them fought the dark djinns, but once again, it was no use. The two of them got too close to dying for Kida's liking.

"I guess we're gonna become like them, huh?" Kida said, noticing how Aladdin's metal vessel was turning dark.

"Yeah." Aladdin said, glancing up at nothing.

What was there to even talk about?

"Actually, I don't want you to die, Masaomi, so take this." He handed Kida a spare one of those djinn's keys that he had saved for him.

"Why would you do this?" He begged. "You're going to die!"

"Hey, Masaomi-kun, please...please save me from becoming a puer magi again. If you do it once more, please prevent me from taking that path, okay?" Aladdin begged, and Kida destroyed his metal vessel to save him.

He and Morgiana went back in time again.

Upon going back again, he and Morgiana agreed to hide his identity to distance himself from Aladdin. So from then on, he used the name Alibaba, and changed his hair a little bit more and controlled his emotions more. No longer would he be a crybaby.

"Hey, Aladdin, if anyone ever asks you to change yourself, tell them no." He said outside Aladdin's window, confusing the young boy greatly. At his feet was a Judar that had been scorched by Morgiana's flames.

However, he quickly learned that the other couldn't be so easily killed.

He decided he would spend time hunting down all the other djinns.

However, the same shit happened as before. Everyone except him and Aladdin died.

Kida struggled against all the monsters, but there were too many of them.

"Do you want to save him, kid?" The voice of Judar could be heard.

Kida screamed for Aladdin not to, but the dumb kid went ahead and made the contract anyway.

Once again, the djinns were defeated. However, he turned into that strange thing from before.

"What a shame, that kid's gonna reverse fate and destroy the world." He said, chewing on a peach core. "Too bad, I did like him."

"You're not going to stop it?" Kida says, at which Judar laughed.

"Nah, I've collected enough rukh from all this that I can move on to somewhere else. I don't care about this anymore. Are you going to destroy him as he is now?"

Kida shook his head. "No, this isn't my problem, either. The thing is, I have more time than this." He said, and just as Judar gasped, a wave of flames enveloped him and he was gone.

For a long, long time, Kida persisted in trying to save his first friend, but the same thing happened over and over.

'No matter what happens, I'll save you, Aladdin.' He told himself.

He initially wanted to save Kougyoku, too, and even started a relationship with her that tragically culminated in her death. She invariably wound up hating him and he distanced himself from her afterwards.

'No matter how long it takes, I will save you, Aladdin.' He whispered in his head.

So is the story of the protagonist of this story.
