At Penelope's house, She, Gumball, Darwin, Anais, and Richard were sitting at the dinner table to have some food, for they were all very hungry, or in Richard's case, he was always hungry most of the time when it comes to food. If there was one thing the father never loses track of, it would be food of all sorts. At the table, it was meatloaf that was to be served with extra herbs to make it more "Healthy" since Penelope is quite a hippy. Still, it looked really delicious, and it was one of everyone's favorite dinner dishes in the family. The tasty, juicy texture of the meatloaf was certainly getting to their noses and stomachs, for they were growling for a slice or two of this meatloaf.
"Alright everyone." said Penelope. "Dig into your dinner now." and she promptly sat in her usual spot.
"Don't mind if I do!" said Richard with his mouth watering down his chin. He didn't even bother using a fork for this dish, for the large rabbit just decided to scarf down the three three slices of meatloaf from his plate like they were just potato chips to him.
The other family members looked surprised. "Jeez, dad." Gumball said. "I know you were always hungry, but come on."
"Force of habit, son." Richard remarked flatly before letting out a let belch. It was a burp so loud and long, it made the whole ground shake like an earthquake was erupting. "I was hungry."
"You're always hungry, dad." Anais said.
"I know. And I'm proud of it. So anyway Penelope, We are very sorry that your sister would even do something like this. I know I've said this before, but I would never marry a woman like her."
Penelope let out a sad sigh. "Sure, my sister has done a lot of things in the past, but I never knew she would do something like this to you guys. It's so not groovy. Not groovy at all."
"I just hope she burns in Hell where she belongs after all she did to us." Gumball said in anger. His fists clenched and old pain was jabbing him again. "Dad, you are going to divorce her, right?"
Thinking about this again, the father said "I certainly am thinking about it, Gumball." then he took a sip of his soda. "Maybe my mother was right. She was nothing but a horrible influence and a monster after all. Oh! No offense, Penelope."
"None taken, Richie." she replied calmly. "It makes me sad to see Nicole losing her balance of peace like this. Preferring Karate and violence than seeking the truth to a united world."
"Can we manage without mom?" Darwin asked
"I think we can. Not to brag, but I am the smartest member of the family." and then the little rabbit took a small bite of her meatloaf piece. "In my opinion, we are way better off without mom. No more worries, no more of her being a dictator to the family, no more chart." and she had a sudden thought with a bigger smile before she added "More ice cream and candy."
The three had a liking to that thought and idea, and dreamed about how great it would be without Nicole trying to ruin their lives like this. Yes, it would be heaven, almost as equivalent to world peace. "I like the way you all think. Like I have mentioned before, you should definitely divorce my evil sister, Richard." and she nonchalantly took a sip of her aloe vera juice.
"You know what, Penelope? You're right." then Richard got out of the table, and said. "Maybe I should divorce her after everything she did." he felt quite bold and confident within himself like a hero would feel like after saving an entire city from a meteor about to destroy it into a crater. He then realized he almost forgot about Gumball here. "Son, please. We need you back home. Everyone misses you."
Poor Gumball didn't really say anything at first, because he was thinking in his head about the decision. "Can I... Can I think about this some more? I do miss you guys but... I like it here, and Penelope is so nice to me. I do support ya getting a divorce with Nicole, dad, but I just need to think and get my head straight. I might come back to you guys, but I'm emotionally exhausted from all of this. Me beating her up to make her pay for what she did, getting slapped in the face by her, running away to here. It was just too much to take in." and he covered his eyes in shame.
Frowning, Richard didn't really like this decision that Gumball had thought, but he couldn't really blame Gumball for deciding that kind of idea from himself. He knew it was Nicole's fault for causing all this mess in the first place. Plus, Penelope is one of the nicest people he had ever met in his whole life. How can anyone not like a sweet, good-hearted woman like her? Someone without a heart would have to hate Penelope for who she is. "We understand son." he admitted with another sigh. "Would you at least like us to tell your friends and other people you know that you're alright."
"That would be good. The last thing I want is for Penny to be heartbroken not knowing where I am. Be sure you tell her, and all the rest of my friends... Tina."
"We'll tell them that." said Darwin. "But Gumball, please, come back home. We all miss you. Think about me, Anais, and dad, and Granny Jojo."
"I know, buddy. I'll think about it. I might come back home soon. But... maybe if Nicole is out of our lives, then I will come back with you guys." Gumball said. "You're still my brother, Darwin. Nothing will ever change that." then he looked at Anais. "And you'll always be my sister, Anais. Even though we have our ups and downs."
"Right." Anais admitted. "And you might drive me crazy at time, you're still my big brother." then they both hugged one another. "At least come back to us when you're ready to."
"I will, sis." Gumball replied. "I promise." and then they let go. "It won't be long. Just at least until I cool off, either that, or Nicole is out of our lives forever."
"Of course, Gumball." said Richard. "I will give her quite a talking to." and he had the anger building up within him again just thinking about his wife, or his Soon-to-be ex-wife when he is finished with her. "I know you have said this but; please come back to us when you decide to."
"Yes, dad." Gumball admitted. "I really hate to do this, but the last thing I want to be with is that demon I once called 'mom'"
"We understand completely." said the father. "Come on, kids. We need to get back to Elmore and tell our friends that he's alright." and he opened the front door.
"Okay, dad." said both Darwin and Anais in unison. They both said "Bye" to Gumball and went back to the van with their father. Even though this sounded like it, it wasn't a final goodbye, it was only for a little while. Deep down, Gumball really regretted his decision, but he really wanted his mother to suffer the consequences after all she did.
He fell to his knees in guilt, and Penelope went to comfort her poor nephew. "Are you okay, honey?"
"Well... no. I can't believe I did that to my own family. I didn't want to, but I never want to see Nicole ever again." and he felt like shedding tears again. Penelope did all she could to comfort him and make him feel better.
"It's never too late to turn back, honey."
"But I'm still angry." he sobbed."
"Shhh, calm down, honey." said Penelope in her soothing voice. "If you ever want to go back home to Elmore, never be afraid to ask me for a ride back to your house."
Stopping his crying, Gumball said "Okay. I will."
"Would you like anything?"
"Some more orange juice would be good."
"Coming right up, Gumball."
Meanwhile in the car, Richard was certainly going to file a divorce with Nicole, and he was feeling quite angry.
