Chapter 10

Past:

Serena grumbles internally as they set out after Minamoto, Tokomon on her head, though she did weave a basket and go pick more Meat Apples, this way they would have food. She didn't understand why they had to go after the damned jerk. Takuya looks at his little sister, she was not happy about having to go after Koji but, she liked Bokomon and Neemon. That was the only reason she was going along with this lunacy. If she had her way she would have never met Minamoto Koji. Zoey also looks at the younger girl, she wished Serena would speak to them but, Koji just had to go and ruin it. Serena didn't even do anymore gymnastics stunts. She just walked and muttered in Russian under her breath. Takuya had taken up Tommy's Russian lessons so the youngest male would be able to talk to Serena still.

The blonde just wished she knew what had set the girl off so thoroughly that she had wanted to kill him the previous day when under the control of Tapirmon's Nightmare Syndrome. The chocolate eyed female pauses, her eyes widening four hours later and shoves the blonde out of the way of Grumblemon's sneak attack. " Execute…Spirit Evolution! " Four voices call out as one.

" Agunimon! "

" Kumnamon! "

" Kazemon! "

" Beetlemon! "

" You kids not know what get into. " Grumblemon says.

Serena glares at the gnome, " Tokomon digivolve to…Muchomon! "

" Pyro Tornado! "

" Ardent Flare! " Muchomon calls out, adding his attack to Agunimon's and Kazemon smirks.

" Hurricane Wave! "

The huge flame attack hits Grumblemon and he barely manages to dive underground to escape from it. Beetlemon slams his fist into the ground and causes the gnome to surface where Agunimon nails him with a spin kick at the same time Kumnamon's Blizzard Blaster hits him. Muchomon sticks close to Serena whom didn't have her spirits yet. "

Agunimon smirks and punches the gnome as he starts his evolution. Grumblemon is sent sailing backwards at this and he grumbles loudly before diving underground. Serena curses and backflips away just at the right moment, " Tropical Beak! " Muchomon calls out, sending Grumblemon back again.

Kazemon uses her Tempest Twist on him and knocks him back further. Beetlemon punches him and Kumnamon slips in and uses his Crystal Freeze. Then the bear moves away again, they had to do hit and fade attacks, it was the only way to get the job done. Their luck ran out and Grumblemon slide evolved to Gigasmon. When Kazemon saves Tommy Serena was already on the move and leaps in between the evil warrior and Kazemon, roundhouse kicking the idiot away from her. That was when Lobomon entered the fight and Serena scoffs, though at least Koji did get his beast spirit, Kendogarurumon. " Serena, thank you. " Zoey says.

Serena smiles, " Prego. "

Present:

Takuya looks at the place he'd found for them to rest briefly though Betamon and Gomamon were on watch, they couldn't afford to get caught off guard at this stage. The Flame Warrior also knew that Devimon was going to start getting creative in response to their actions. It never ended well when the bad guy started getting creative. " Guys, we'll need to be ready for Devimon's response. He won't take this sitting down. " Takuya says.

" The Flame Warrior is right. Devimon is getting desperate which means he will be that much more dangerous. " Leomon says.

" Fantastic, so how do we respond to this? " Matt mutters.

" For starters your partners all need to start sparring together to get stronger and faster. This means we all train, there's no other choice in the matter. " Serena tells them.

" Serena's right, training is our best option. One warrior will go with one of you to go get supplies while the others train. " Tommy adds on.

" Tommy does raise a very significant point, the warriors are experienced and will notice things the rest of us might just ignore. " Izzy ripostes.

" How are we going to do this? " Sora asks.

Tai frowns heavily, " For now Serena and Tommy stay here with their partners and train the others along with Leomon. Matt and Gabumon will go with Takuya to look for food and other supplies that we may need. "

Center:

Lord Fanglongmon smiles, they were coming together quite nicely though the Celestials were going to get reamed out for creating the sovereigns in the first place. Apocalymon would never have gotten as far with his aspirations if the Celestials would have taken their responsibilities seriously. This was why he'd had to act and call on previous destines. Serena would have been called anyway but not Takuya or Tommy. This gave Digiworld a much better chance at survival though the fight would spill over into the human world this time.

Myotismon's Castle, Continent of Server:

The vampire digimon curses his luck over the fact that there were three Legendary Warriors in the Digital World and that they would most likely call the others in just before he invaded the human world. He had stayed low key so the Celestials wouldn't call them in. At least he had the Crest of Light and the Child of Light's partner, Gatomon. Oh, it had taken him quite some time to break the feline but, she was such a good minion. Wizardmon on the other hand, he didn't know what to think about him.

Wizardmon smirks as he watches the evil vampire. Oh, the Celestials had taken notice of him and Lord Seraphimon had sent him to spy on the idiot. The fact that the sovereigns had been sealed away by MetalSeadramon, Puppetmon, Machinedramon, and Piedmon made this situation that much more precarious. If necessary Wizardmon would have to extricate himself as he did not feel like being reformatted again. He didn't want to leave Gatomon behind but, she was too well conditioned by Myotismon at the moment for him to even attempt to get her to leave.

Koichi's Apartment:

" Water to Darkness. "

" Darkness here, what's up? "

" You all need to head to Odaiba now and, make sure you take with you whatever might be useful in the digital world. This fight is heading to our world, I just know it. "

Koichi frowns even as he looks at the others. Serena was making sure that they would be able to help out if necessary. " Understood, we'll be there as soon as possible. How bad is this going to be? "

" Not sure, I know this group is supposed to have a Light but… "

" Damn, there's a destined still on this side. We're on it, Water. "

" Good. Oh, Darkness, keep Light muzzled. Water out. "

" Maledizione, this isn't good. " Zoey murmurs.

" Z's right, we have to make damn sure we get there fast and find some place we can lie low for a while, otherwise we are so screwed. " JP adds.

" Let's make a list and gather the supplies we'll need and then we hitch the sub to Odaiba. " Koji states.

The list is quickly made and the four race off to get what would be needed, making sure to keep their D-Tectors on them at all times. Koji was the one to get their tickets while the others all leave messages for parents as to where they would be.

Digiworld, Devimon's Lair:

The evil emo angel ponders how he should go about destroying his foes when he remembers and old friend that had been reformatted, IceDevimon. He sends the icy evil angel out to destroy them as he could freeze digivices.

Campsite of the Digidestined:

Tommy shudders and then curses, " Gaomon you need to digivolve now. "

Serena swears profusely, " Candlemon, hurry, we have an evil ice angel inbound. "

" Gaomon digivolve to…Gaogamon! "

" Candlemon digivolve to…Wizardmon! "

Tommy and Serena both grab their D-Tectors and four loops of data surround their hands, eyes hardened in determination, " Execute…Beast Spirit Evolution! Aaahhhhh! "

" Korikkakumon! "

" Tsukimon! "

" Magical Game! "

IceDevimon is hit by the attack and Korikkakumon smiles, " Frozen Tundra! "

" Tsunami Breaker! "

" Spiral Blow! " Gaogamon calls out.

" Palmon digivolve to…Togemon! How about some Light Speed Jabbing! "

The evil ice angel keeps dodging and Tsukimon leaps up into the air and slashes him with her trident before flipping over and slamming a leg into him. IceDevimon goes careening into the ground where Korikkakumon slams his Avalanche Axes into him and Gaogamon uses his Double Dash Claw attack. Tsukimon lands and dashes off to intercept the attack IceDevimon had launched at the non-combatants. Her trident is held vertically in front of her and she starts glowing blue, " Tidal Barrier! "

" I am suddenly very grateful for the fact that they're on our side. " Sora mutters.

Togemon's Needle Spray herds IceDevimon straight into Tsukimon's Whirlpool Whiplash which sends him right into Gaogamon's Spiral Blow and causes his fractal code to show, " Tsukimon slide evolution…Ranamon. IceDevimon, sug'ah, it's f'ah ya tah be purified by the rushin' wat'ahs, fractal code…digitize! "

" Prodigious, this is how our predecessors dealt with their enemies. " Izzy says.

Once the fractal code is completely harvested Ranamon ends her evolution and sighs, as the other's evolutions also end, " Izzy, you and Tentomon go get us some wood and sticks, we need to eat. " Serena says.
