The woman sighed, "Dude, it's me... Sym."
"Oh..." I groaned, "Sym... oh, f-fire, I am s-so sorry. I-I just d-didn't recognise you..." Damn it, I hate it when I stutter.
"It's fine..." Sym sighed, "I'm not sure why I expected you to. But, whatever..." Suddenly there was a small table in between the chairs. On the table was a large bottle with two small glass cups next to it. Sym began pouring a red liquid from the bottle into the two glasses. "You know," She began, "I'm not very sure about you humans. But this stuff," She gestured to the bottle, "this stuff is amazing!"
I walked over and took one of the glasses and tasted it. "Wine?" I asked.
"Yup..." she nodded, taking a big gulp from her cup. I hesitated for a moment, then took another sip.
"As long as this is just a dream... I guess it couldn't hurt to be drinking this."
"Well..." Sym giggled, "Actually..."
"Hmm? What is it?"
"The thing is..." she began, "A little after you fell asleep, I took full control of your body-"
"You can do that?" I interrupted.
Sym poured more wine, and downed it in one gulp. "Of course! Didn't I tell you?" I shook my head, "Oh... anyway, I took control of your body because you had to release a large amount of acid from your body. So after I brought you to the bathroom to release said acid, I realized how little I actually know about human society, so I brought you over to your computer, and began doing some research on your history."
When she paused to drink more wine, I decided to do the same. Though I began to notice how fuzzy my head was beginning to feel.
"Go on..." I mumbled.
"After a while," Sym hicupped. "I read about this stuff called wine, and after finding the ingredients, I adjusted the necessary compounds in your body to..." Sym stopped for a second, hicupped, then began speaking again, "to essentially, create red wine. After, of course, bringing you to the kitchen to consume a number of grapes."
I stood there for a moment, in shock. "You-So-It-Uh-"
"Whoa..." Sym soothed, "Slow down...hehe..." She poured another cup and began drinking.
"So..." I started, "you're saying... that I'm... actually... drunk?" I nearly shouted.
"Actually... the correct" she hicupped, "term... would be, 'we' are drunk..."
I, after a very stunned minute of nothing, reached for the bottle and just took a giant swig from it. As you could imagine the rest of the night was a blur. It turns out though, that due to Sym's ability to increase my rate of healing, I didn't have to suffer the effects of a hangover. I'm not going to bother going into detail of the next morning, as it would be very boring. So, I'm going to skip ahead about a week. I had decided after a day of thought, that I should probably learn some form of martial arts. I had even found an instructor, and after he convinced me to explain my reasoning for learning, he actually said that he'd do it for free. Of course, when I first met Mr. Akihiro, I was sure he had some screws loose, here, let me tell you about it.
I was standing at a strip mall, staring up at the fading sign of a martial arts studio. I looked at the piece of paper in my hands, making sure I had the right address. I walked over to the glass doors and looked inside, seeing no-one, I began to knock.
The second my knuckles touched the glass, I heard an old sounding voice shout: "Gah! Stop with that insufferable noise! The door is open! Now... get in here! Both of you!" I was about to open the door when I realized what he had said, 'both of you!' I took a glance around and found that there was no one around.
After a moment of deliberation, I walked inside the old place. The second I entered, I was met with the smell of death. I looked for the source and found dozens of dying potted plants all around. After I took my shoes off, I began to search the studio for the man behind the voice. After a moment, I found an old man way in the back of the studio. The man was wearing a red button-up long shirt, with grey pants. He was a japanese-looking man, in his late sixties, sitting weirdly. What was weird, was the fact that this guy sitting on a pole, which was balance with one end on the ground. He appeared to be meditating, his eyes closed.
"Um... hello?" I called. Instantly, the man's eyes shot open and gave me an icy stare.
"Where's the other?" he demanded. I had no idea who he was referring to.
"What... other?" I asked.
"Oh!" he exclaimed, "Now I get it! Two! In the same body eh? Interesting..." He began stroking his non-existent beard.
"What? I have... no... idea what you're... talking about!" I said.
"Don't bother, boy!" He waved his hand, "I can sense... what my father said, peoples' souls! Now, how are you sharing exactly?" He began to learn forward, but the second he did, he lost his balance on the pole and fell face-first into the ground.
"Oh!" I yelled. "Are you okay?" I asked, trying to help him up. As soon as he was on his knees, he grabbed my wrists, twisted hhis body around, and flipped me over his back.
"Dude!" I groaned, "What'd you do that for?" I barely rolled away when he slammed his knee into the spot I was just in.
"I am proving your worth! Strange boy with dual souls..." He was getting into an attack pose, as I stood up ith my hands in the air.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa... I just came here to learn martial arts." I stated.
"But, why?" He asked, not moving a muscle.
"I, uh... figured... it'd be useful... info to have." I half-lied.
"Hmm... No, there's more than that. And if I'm going to train you, then I need the truth." Suddenly, he lunged forward, his fist ready to strike. I quickly aimed my wrist, and fired a web at his hand. After it met contact, I pulled my arm around, trying to slam him into the wall. As soon as he began to swing around, he simply turned with the swing, using the momentum to kick me right in my chest, sending me into the wall.
"Agh!" I grunted, "Dude!" The second I recovered, he quickly lunged at me. I managed to dodge out of the way by jumping up into the nook between the ceiling and the wall. I was ready to push myself forward, but realized that I was sticking to the walls by my hands and feet.
"Let me guess..." I grumbled, "You also copied sticking to walls?"
"Uh... yeah..." grumbled Sym, "I forgot to mention that..." 'CLAP!CLAP!CLAP!"
I quickly snapped my attention back to Mr. Akihiro, who was standing there clapping.
"Alright, come down from there." he said. Hesitantly, I jumped down ready to defend myself further. "I've decided to train you."
"Wait... what?" I asked confusedly.
"In exchange for training, I want you tell me how you have these... fascinating abilities!"
"I..." I muttered, "But... FINE!"
