Welcome back people to a very special chapter of For the Love of RWUBY! Why's it special? Because it's being posted on the 1 year anniversary of this story! And after failing to get a chapter for my very first fic's anniversary out, I wasn't gonna let that happen for my most popular one. So let's celebrate this story with the way it began: A chapter between Naruto & Ruby! Enjoy!
Chapter 10 (Class messaging): Start!
'Gotta stay up, Gotta stay up. Don't go to sleep, Don't go to sleep'. This was the mental chanting of one Ruby Rose. The Team RWUBY leader sat in her chair as Professor Goodwitch was giving one of her lectures, this one in particular on Aura. This served to reminder the girl of her love/hate relationship with Goodwitch's class: she loved the sparring sections of the close while she absolutely DESPISED the lectures. She was desperately fighting off the cold grip of sleep as she wanted to be a more diligent student in class as she promised her partner Weiss, but this lecture was sooooo BORING!
Ruby's head bobbed up and down a couple of times, and her eyes struggled to keep themselves open. Unfortunately for the scythe wielder, sleep would eventually claim her as her eyes finally closed and her head stayed down. It would seem that boredom would win this round…that was until she felt a small vibration that jolted her awake. Pulling her scroll out of her pocket, she saw the face of her boyfriend Naruto on it.
Looking over her shoulder she caught sight of the whiskered blonde looking at her and giving her a grin and a wave of the hand. She looked back down to her scroll and checked the message that he sent her, and after reading it, she had the urge to scoff. She actually would have if it weren't for the fact that she didn't want Goodwitch to hear her and get the wrong idea.
The message read: Sleeping in the middle of class? Student of the year you are not Rubes…
After checking to see that the professor couldn't see her, Ruby started typing a response to the message: You're one to talk Naruto. You're almost ALWAYS sleeping in class -_-
A small victorious smirk shined on the face of the black and red haired girl. Usually in a battle of snark, she wouldn't be able to come up with a good comeback to Naruto's constant teasing. But she felt like she had won after that text. She really shouldn't have thought that wouldn't be the end of the conversation, especially when a few minutes later, her scroll started vibrating again and Naruto sent her another message.
True but the team doesn't depend on me to lead by example and be a diligent student Ms. Fearless Leader. XP
It seemed that Naruto won that little exchange as Ruby had her scroll back in her pocket. While he couldn't exactly see Ruby's face, he spent enough time with her to understand her body language when she wasn't happy with him: she was standing up straight, her arms her crossed, and even though it was just her scroll, should wouldn't make any eye contact with him. He could even picture the cute little scowl she had on her face when she was usually upset with him, though he would never tell her that scowl was more cute than actually intimidating.
To bring himself back in her favor, Naruto decided to send his girl something that he spent his time today in class working on. After finding the picture on his scroll again, he sent the black and red haired girl the picture. As he heard Ruby's scroll vibrate again, he sat there patiently waiting for his leader to pick the phone back up. After a good thirty-five seconds she finally relented and checked her scroll to see the message Naruto sent her.
The result of doing this ended in the young girl burying her face in her lap as she was doing her damndest to keep herself from bursting out into hysterical laughter. The picture was of Professor Goodwitch's head edited on Marvin Martian from Looney Tunes' body and in that picture, there was a speech bubble that said: 'Where's the kaboom? There's supposed to be an Earth shattering kaboom!'
With her face still in her lap, she took a deep breath and straightened herself out; she was now looking at what was going on in the lecture. That lasted a good ten seconds before Naruto sent her another text that she checked.
That pic took me a good twenty minutes to make. He wrote to her.
You're horrible! XD Responded Ruby.
And you're adorable. Ruby blushed when she read that message. She swore it was the simple things Naruto did in their relationship that would get the most reactions from her. It wasn't too long after that she received another message from the whiskered blonde.
So…whatcha thinkin about? It was this message where Ruby decided to heck with it and to just spend the rest of the class messaging Naruto. It's not like she was paying all that much attention in class anyway and missing out on one day of notes won't kill her. She wrote back:
How I'm gonna survive the rest of this class D: What R U thinking about?

We should go out after class today. Naruto suggested in his next message.
Okay. Where 2?
IDK. I just figured we could go out into the city and just hang out there. Maybe go check out some weapon shops.
OOOOOOH!1! I'd LUV to check out the weapons shop down in Vale! :D
Yeah, I know you would B-) Okay, then after class, we can drop our stuff off and we can go.

"Miss Rose! Mister Uzumaki!" The couple's head snapped up when their names were called and they saw a rather annoyed Glynda Goodwitch giving them both the eye. "Since you two seem to be so enthralled in your scrolls, I figured you wouldn't mind sharing with the rest of us what has you two so wrapped up that you can't be bothered to pay attention to the lecture."
"Oh…Um…I…Uh…" Ruby was stumbling badly trying to come up with an answer, or better yet an excuse, that wouldn't get her into trouble with the professor but she was having no luck. Her prayers seemed to be answered when Naruto stood out of his chair and cleared his throat.
"Well, ya see professor Goodwitch, I was showing Rubes here a picture I made of you photo shopped as Marvin Martian from Looney Tunes." When he said that, a chain of reactions started. A majority of the students laughed at the image that was in their heads of Glynda as the Martian, Glynda's left eyebrow was twitching at the joke, and Ruby turned white as a sheet thinking of the consequences of Naruto making that joke and she hoped that he wouldn't take it a step further.
Unfortunately, she forgot who her boyfriend was and he took it a step further: "After that, me and Ruby were making plans to go on a date after class." Naruto added.
"Well Mister Uzumaki, you and Miss Rose will have to put your plans on hold, because you two will be having detention after class today."
Naruto's face turned to one of shock when he heard that. All he could say in response was: "Y-Yes Professor…" he slowly sat down in his chair and was welcomed by that oh so adorable scowl of Ruby's.
He pulled his scroll back out and texted to his leader and beau: That…was a dumb thing to do…
Ruby angrily took her scroll out of her pocket and responded in kindly with:
YOU THINK?! :O

(1) This was meant to be a blushing emoticon folks but went the document came from word to the site it got screwy.
I know, this chapter was completely inaccurate: The grammar in those texts was way too correct! I actually lied back in Ch. 8, I actually have a few chapters I want to do for different girls before continuing sequels (One that's been asked to do for a while) as inspiration to do them hit me like a ton of rocks. 177: Ruby and Weiss, as in those two both like Naruto chapter? If that's the case then yes. I do have that kind of chapter in mind, but it'll take some time to get to it, especially considering it serves as a two parter to Weiss's chapters.
