Konnichiwa, minna-san! I'm finally back! Isn't this great?!
I, uh...kind of fell through with the promise of "updating within the month," Ehe...WELL! I'm back, and that's all that matters. Please enjoy this next installment of the Summer Omake Miniseries!
P. S. I meant to post this on the anniversary of this story's publish date, but (awkward, I was REALLY looking forward to it...) I forgot...It was supposed to be on the 20th of September...

The group stepped off Shinigami's private jet and paused to admire the view. The entire island was covered in fine, white sand which felt as soft as velvet between the toes. The glittering ocean seemed to beckon for them to jump in, playful waves crashing against the shore to their own entrancing rhythm. Everything looked heavenly.
"Ahhh~! Nothin' like a little getaway to paradise!" Soul proclaimed happily while adjusting his aviator sunglasses. He bore a loose-fitting, Hawaiian shirt patterned with white flowers matched with tan cargo shorts. Next to him stood his partner, Maka, wearing a white sundress with a creamy yellow bow tied just underneath the bust.
"It's a very beautiful island, Kid," Maka remarked. She held her floppy sun hat as a cool breeze blew, causing her to smile. 'Maybe this little break wouldn't be so bad, after all,' she thought.
"KYAHHH! Black*Star!" Everyone turned their attention to Tsubaki. With flushed faces, Kidd and Soul looked away in embarrassment. Black*Star, however, just stood proudly next to his partner with a triumphant grin.
"Nice choice in underwear, Tsubaki! The lace looks hot as hell."
She blushed profusely, whether it was from embarrassment or anger she couldn't tell. Although she didn't have the heart to do it, she wanted to beat the crap out of his cocky self. She quickly retied her white tie front blouse.
Maka and Liz, on the other hand, would beat the crap out of him if it was going to be the last thing they did. Their faces darkened with rage as they approached the laughing boy. Patti decided to stay away. She felt bad for Tsubaki; on the other hand, she thought it was pretty amusing the way Black*Star was acting when certain death entailed. The guys shuddered, feeling the murderous auras coming off of the two females.
"Black*Star..."
"You...perverted JERK!"
Two fists collided with both of his cheeks. His eyes bulged as he heard a sickening crunch. They'd hit him with enough force to shatter his cheekbones (not like they cared; he was being a pervert). The boy crumpled to the floor, his cheeks puffy and covered with dark purple bruises.
"Stop being such a damned pervert, asshole!" Liz screamed in his face. After releasing her pent-up anger on him, she returned to Tsubaki and consoled her. Maka, on the other hand, wanted to harm him even more. She looked down at the trembling Black*Star before mercilessly stomping on his most sensitive region.
"Stupid boys...always being such pigs," she spat venomously.
"Oh, dear Death!" cried Soul. He nearly passed out from the mere site of his partner lifting her foot directly above where the sun does not shine. Kid was faring no better, and ended up passing out.
"It's okay, Maka-chan. I think he's learned his lesson," Tsubaki said gently in an attempt to calm the murderous girl. Patti, who was fully afraid of Maka's rage, hid fearfully behind her sister.
"Hello, everyone! What's going on here...?"
Everyone froze and watched as Hinata and Sasuke came strolling towards them. The blue-haired female blinked a few times, trying to understand why Black*Star was on the receiving end of a rage-fueled Maka. Sasuke observed Kidd's unconscious form and was highly amused.
"Ano...Maka-chan, I'm sure he's sorry for whatever he has done."
Maka paused, stared down at her victim's pathetic form, and stepped away. After blinking a few times, she laughed sheepishly and apologized to everyone.
"I didn't realize what I was doing...sorry."
No one spoke for a long while. Instead, they all chose to bask in the warmth of the sun and listen to the unique sounds of the island. Kid eventually awoke from his episode and decided that everyone should get settled in before anything else got out of hand. While they hustled towards the paved sandstone road leading to Lord Death's beach house, Hinata and Sasuke lagged behind them.
"A strange bunch, aren't they? Maka-chan doesn't seem the type to lash out like that," she spoke in a hushed tone.
"Hn," he agreed. "Noisy, ignorant gaki(1)...this is going to be a long mission."
"I'm sure they'll show tremendous progress throughout the year. Who knows? They might surprise even you."
"I severely doubt it."
"Ne, let's just enjoy the present."
(1) "gaki" means "brat"
Another Author's Note (kind of) in the Form of an Omake:
Hinata sighed in relief and plopped down on a wooden chair exhausted from dealing with the inquiring audience. She placed a hand over her eyes and groaned.
"Melody-chan, you're too much trouble, you know that? Dealing with the crowd is difficult," she spoke with a soft voice. The young author flinched And sighed heavily.
"I-I know. I know I should be the one to deal with them. But, I don't know...I'm too ashamed with my writer's block weighing me down."
"Ne, Melody-chan, it's okay!" The blue-haired female wrapped her arms around the younger girl who pouted childishly. "They're quite understanding. Haven't you read their reviews?"
"Yeah, and they're awesome!" Melody's eyes lit up as a grin appeared on her face. "They're super supportive, I get positive feedback, and the like! I guess I can show myself next time."
They sat in silence for a few minutes; one satisfied with her job well done, and the other silently contemplating a recurring question. Finally, deciding to shoot for it, the young author popped the question.
"Say, Hinata?"
"Hai?"
"You wouldn't mind doing any—well, fanservice, with Sasuke, do you?"
"EH?!"
