So, here's part two of my apology!

It could also be a Valentine's surprise owo

Jack sat on the roof of Jamie's house, looking out over the night sky. It was so dark, yet so beautiful. Alone, the night sky make look scary or depressing, but add a few stares, and there was a sight that was loved. He thought it was funny how little things could change the way people thought so easily.

He'd never be able to be there if anyone were home, but the house was empty at the moment. Jamie was out, trying to get permission for their band to play at the mall. Sofie was across the street, at Lucy's. And their mom was once again at work. That woman seemed to stay busy.

Since Jack couldn't find anything on tv, he'd decided to come up here. There were thousands of shows going on in the sky. Just because he couldn't see them didn't make them any less interesting.

Jack yawned and looked at his phone. It was already eleven. Normally, he wouldn't be sleepy yet, but apparently, today was different. If he didn't climb down soon, he'd fall asleep up there. Last time that had happened, Jamie lectured him for days.

"What are you doing?" a shout came from below. Jack looked down to see none other than Aster. He was sure that by now the Austrialian would want nothing to do with him.

"Sup, Kangaroo?" Jack called down.

"I'm not a bloody..." his words trailed off as he remembered the subject. "Get down."

"Why?"

"It's dangerous!" Aster yelled.

"Maybe for you," Jack said. He stood up and started walking towards Aster. "But not for me."

"Stop showing off before you get hurt."

"I wont get hurt."

"Jack," Aster sighed. "Come down. Please."

Jack raised an eyebrow before shrugging and jumping from the roof, causing Aster to curse. Jack grinned, unharmed. When Aster realized this, he just cursed louder.

"What is it?" Jack asked.

"I ended things with Lucy," he admitted.

"Good," Jack said. "How'd she take it?"

"Gave me this wild story," Aster told him.

"Oh boy," Jack said with a grin, knowing it was about him. "What'd she say?"

"Will you be serious for a second?" Aster scolded. "It's not a game."

Jack shrugged. "Almost everything is a game."

Aster's eyes narrowed. "Lives aren't-"

"Aster," Jack interupted. "I know. As you were saying...?"

"What is Pitch Black to you?"

Jack's face instanstly fell. Aster immediantly felt bad about asking. Obviously, it hadn't been just some made up story. Something had happened... and it hadn't ended well.

"Scum."

"What happened?"

"Classified, Kangaroo," Jack answered. "It's all on the need to know."

"You'd rather me believe Lucy's story?" Aster asked.

Jack shrugged. "Why not? I mean, one of us has to be telling the truth, right?"

"Are you really like this?" Aster asked. What Lucy kept saying seemed to be closer and closer to the truth, yet... to Aster, it seemed like a front. Like Jack was hiding.

Jack didn't say anything, not sure what to answer. He knew he could be a jerk and idiot, but... when he wasn't, it ended badly. So it was easier. And that's not something Aster needed to know.

"Yeah."

"Bull," Aster snorted. "Give me something better than that."

Jack looked away from him. "Aster, I'm not really..."

"Haven't you realized this yet, frostbite?"

"Realized what?"

"I'm incrediably stubborn," Aster chuckled. "So... either you invite me in and tell me what I want to know..."

"Or?"

"Or I'll just force it out of ya."
