A/N: I am so sorry for not updating sooner! I had a little trouble writing this one, and I had a lot of stuff at school. Then there was a bit more writer's block. And then it was my birthday. Then I was at Great Wolf Lodge all weekend as a birthday present for me and my little brother. :)

Sorry again! Here's the next chapter!

The next morning came by surprisingly quick. Serena hadn't got much sleep, but she reasoned that it was just nerves. Yeah, that's all. Right. Maybe?

Okay, maybe it was because she had another nightmare, and maybe the nightmare was about her family tree. Why would that be a nightmare? you may ask. Well, Serena's family tree was rather complicated, and there were some things that she wasn't very proud of. Serena understood that her ancestors were not the nicest that they could have been, but what did it mean for her? What if she became like them and met a horrible fate? Granted, as a demigod, she would probably meet a horrible fate anyway, but that isn't important. The fears were still existent.

"Couldn't sleep, could you?" Percy asked from his bed in cabin 3. Serena shook her head, to which her half-brother chuckled. "I remember my first quest, to get Zeus's master bolt back. I barely slept beforehand."

Serena looked at the small waterproof watch she wore on her wrist, and her sea-green eyes widened. "Percy, we're gonna be late for breakfast if we don't hurry up."

Once they had sat down at the Poseidon table in the dining pavilion, Serena spotted Nico and Will making their way towards them. After a brief hello, they both dragged Percy away to 'talk'.

"Good luck on your quest, Serena."

Serena turned to see Jason Grace standing behind her, but it was a girl who had spoken. Serena recognized the girl; she had seen her around camp with Jason often. She had native-American features, choppy brown hair, and a simple camp t-shirt.

"Hey, thanks. Sorry, but I don't know your name."

"Oh," Jason said. "Sorry about that. Serena, this is my girlfriend Piper. Piper, you know Serena."

Piper held out her hand, which Serena shook. "Nice to meet you, for real this time, not from an annoying meeting."

"Likewise."

Serena took a glance to where Percy had been dragged off to, and saw a worried look on Will's face. Her brow furrowed slightly. Is Will worried about the quest? Or something else? Why would they want to talk with Percy without me?

"Serena? You okay?" Serena looked away from the trio of demigods when she heard Jason's voice.

"Hmm? Yeah, I'm fine. Just a bit nervous."

"How was she last night Perce?" Nico asked when Will didn't say anything.

Percy thought for a moment. "She was fine. She didn't look like she had any nightmares whatsoever."

Nico was okay with that answer, but Will seemed to have a problem with it.

"You sure, Percy? No nightmares at all?" the son of Apollo inquired.

"Jeez, Will. You sound like she's your sister and not mine."

"Well, I'm sorry that I care." Will said sarcastically.

After breakfast, Serena met Nico and Will by Thalia's pine for one last look at camp before their quest.

"It feels like I just got here," Serena sighed. "And now I have to leave."

Will put a hand on Serena's shoulder. "Don't worry; we'll be back soon."

"Hopefully..." Nico muttered under his breath, but Serena heard him with her heightened hearing. She shrugged away the thought of them not making it back.

"So, if we're gonna get to Poseidon's palace, we'll need to head to the beach. I think I can guide us from there."

Once they had walked down to the beach, Serena put her focus on the salty water in front of her. Reaching out with her senses, the daughter of Poseidon looked for her father's palace. She was startled when she realized that someone - or something - was watching her from a cave deep under the water. Serena jolted her thoughts back to her body, seeing Nico and Will looking at her expectantly.

"What's wrong? Usually things like that take longer," the overprotective son of Apollo asked.

"There was something else trying to find me. It looked through my thoughts against my will, and I didn't want to give it any more info than I already did." Serena continued after taking a breath. "I can still find the way once we're down there. I can tell it's not too far from here."

Nico frowned. "Something looked through your thoughts? That's not usually a good thing."

"I'm fine. I think it was just trying to figure out who I was, but it didn't find much. Only that I'm standing on a beach somewhere on Long Island."

"How can you be so sure?" Will asked nervously.

Serena sighed. "I just can, Will. I don't know how, but I can just tell."

Nico interrupted the two before Will could retort. "Let's just get going already. We've already wasted enough time," he turned to Serena. "Lead the way."

A/N: Sorry that this one's a bit on the short side, and that it's a bit of a filler chapter, but I just wanted to get something uploaded. I've had some trouble writing this part, but hopefully it'll be easier for the quest itself. Please review/PM me or whatever!
