Azula shut the door behind her and sighed. What a pain in the ass this place was turning out to be and she had no bloody way of getting out of here. Everyone was annoying her more then she can stand. To make matters worse, she was almost tackled by a forceful hug from one of her "Visitors."
"Zula! We've missed you!" Ty Lee's cheerful, yet rather annoying voice, filled the small room. Azula scowled at her.
"Get. Off." Ty Lee quickly let go of her and backed away with a confused expression.
"Well I can see you are back to your normal radiant self." Mai sat with her legs up on the table located in the center of the Roman style visitor room. "I guess the medication did a number on you. You're back to your old miserable self." She never looked at the princess.
"Oh on the contrary Mai; I'll have you know that my time here has been filled with the up most of pleasantries." Azula received a smirk from the dark haired women who finally lifted her gaze to meet the princess's.
"You're full of shit." She received a mimicking smirk from the younger girl. Ty Lee fidgeted and tensed when Azula gave her an awkward pat on the shoulder.
"Sorry." She mumbled before walking towards an empty chair at the table with Ty Lee following closely. The three teens sat quietly for a while. Mai continued to fumble with things in her sleeves while Azula studied something that was not there on the table with her arms crossed. Ty Lee kept her hands nervously folded on her lap as she snuck glances between the two. "So… Why are you guys here?" Azula saw Mai shrug.
"We wanted to see how you were." Ty Lee smiled.
"Your brother wanted us to check on you because he was afraid that you might rip his head off." Mai interrupted. Azula snickered and shook her head.
"That's a better explanation." She leaned back in her chair and smirked to herself.
"And," Mai began, "We wanted to see how you were." She received a sideways glance from Azula. Mai sighed. "Listen; as much as you do not want to admit it, we are "Best" friends. I know, I'm not happy about it either." Azula frowned at her.
"I- I'm sure she didn't mean it like that Azula." Ty Lee intervened. Azula's cold gaze shifted towards her and she stiffened once again. Azula signed and pushed herself away from the table and stood.
"Listen, I appreciate… your concern but, the truth is that however I said or acted after that Agni kai; I wasn't in my right mind and I honestly have no need or want followers with the idea that they are forced to be my friends." She motioned with her head towards Ty Lee. "I don't want people who call themselves a friend when I can see that they are just desperately afraid of me." She noticed Ty Lee's upset expression. Azula shook her head and made her way towards the door. She opened it only to have it shut by Mai. Azula glared at her.
"Listen, we are not afraid of you princess and are certainly not finding our selves in a force friendship. I don't know what is running through that thick head of yours, but do us all a favor and quit throwing yourself a pity party because it's making me sick." Mai held her gaze and Ty Lee felt a nostalgic fear that the two of them were about to start a brawl. Instead, to her surprise, Azula began to laugh.
"I'm incapable expressing pity to other's much less myself. My father made sure to teach me that in the most… appropriate way possible." Azula saw Mai's usual dark expression go soft causing her to frown. "I was also taught not to except pity from others. You're being a hypocrite Mai."
"Azula. Why can't you accept the help from those who love you?" Mai's question took Azula by surprise. Mai opened the door and motioned for Ty Lee to follow. She looked back. "We will be back next week. Try not to get yourself into trouble. Your pride will only keep you in here longer." Mai left Azula standing dumbfounded at the door.
"Well that was interesting." Sin said as she nonchalantly munched on an apple. Azula ignored her and walked passed her towards her room. Sin stopped her before she had the chance to open her door. "Hey! You might want to eat something. They keep track of your food intake to make sure you are not trying to starve yourself." The girl handed her a bright red apple. Azula stared at it with a questionable look.
"Why are you doing this?" She asked.
"Because you're my friend." Sin offered a big toothy smile. Azula frowned and snatched the apple from her.
"Thanks." She said before shutting the door in her face. Azula tossed the apple in the trash and fell onto her bed.
Sorry that this chapter was so short after such a long break. I stopped for a while because I did not think people found this interesting but, I'm going to try to continue. This chapter is short, but it is a good start up so enjoy and review
