Chapter 10
We ended up at his apartment, I should have gone on my way and went home, and now seeing him in his bad mood it was no time to watch a movie in peace.
"Some date," she said, but Roy wasn't even paying attention to her. Letting out a sigh she got up from her seat and was about to leave but her hand was grab.
"Wait," she turns around towards him. "Sorry, I just…"
"Ignoring my presents, you already gave the girl a warning you don't need to keep her in your mind all the time," she said.
"I sorry," he said.
"Go cool off or something," she pushes him towards the bedroom. "I thought that I'm the one that supposed to be the one who need to control her temper."
Leaving her in the room by herself, Roy went into the bedroom. Sighing once more she looks around before heading towards the kitchen. Looking around she went to cabinets and found a couple of packs of popcorn and a bowl. Setting the bowl on the counter she held the packets of popcorn in her hand soon enough the popcorn was popping on its own. Before it could burn she takes out of the bag and empties it into the bowl. She gives the same treatment to the other before going over to the TV and putting in a movie.
Roy soon came back into the room taking a seat on the couch next to her.
"Better now," she said smiling while passing the popcorn next to.
"Yeah," wrapping his arms around her bring her closer to him as they watch the movie together.
The movie was soon off and it was late the both of them slept in each other arms until morning. When Anastasia got up, she tried to not wake him up but it was no use he was already up and pulling her back into his arms.
"Roy, I have to go," she said.
"Just a little longer," he said holding her tight as he kisses her ear. A shiver went down her spine. Pushing him away she stood up on her feet.
"If I say longer I won't make it out of here until tomorrow," she said. "I suppose to be at the cave at a regularly bases now. I might not be leader but I'm still the oldest, I should at least look like I care for the team."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, go back to your junior league"
"Don't pout now I ask to join you and you refuse to let me so I have to watch over them, now more than ever now that my cousin is there," she laugh a bit.
"I was trying to forget that," grabbing her wrist and pulling her one his lap for a deep kiss. "You're going to have to take some responsibility," a smile form on his face.
"Roy wait I'm sorry but I really have to…," he shut her up with a kiss as he carries her to the bedroom.
Scarlet came into the cave and saw that both Superboy and Aqualad was sparing with each other. Just as she walk in she overheard the conversation that Artemis and Megan were having about the boy.
"Well if it wasn't for the anger issue Superboy would come to a close first," Scarlet said making the both of them look back at her.
"You're here," Megan said.
"I have to be responsible one in a while," she said.
Suddenly Superboy went and threw Aqualad just as Red Tornado was coming out of his room above the training grounds. Wally runs over to him.
"Do you have a mission for us?" he asks.
"Mission assignments are the Batman responsibility," he said.
"But Batman is out with Robin doing the dynamic duo," Wally said. "But your headed out somewhere a hot date, a mission"
"If we can be of help," Aqualad included.
Red Tornado turns around and a screen pop up with an elderly man in a suit.
"This is Kent Nelson," he said. "A friend he is one hundred and six years old."
"Doctor Fate," Scarlet said.
"Correct," Red Tornado said. "And he has been missing for twenty-three days."
"Like Doctor Fake, the guy know a little of advance science and us it up to scare the bad guys and get the babes," Wally whisper to Artemis.
"Kent may simply be on one of his walk about, but he is the care taker of the helmet of fate and the source of his mystic might. It is unwise to leave such power unguarded."
"He is like the great sorcery and priestess of Mars I would be honor of looking for him," Wally quickly raise his hand.
"Me too," Scarlet let out a sigh. "So honor that I can barely stand it magic rocks"
"Take this it is the key to the tower of fate," Aqualad took it from him.
Soon they travel in the bioship heading towards the tower of fate.
"We reach Tornado cornets but…"
"Nothing there"
"Take us down," Aqualad said.
As we all gather outside unknowing to use that the enemy was right behind us. We search for a way inside but to it was useless. Wally was still trying to impress Megan saying that magic was hard at work. Then Aqualad insert the key into almost nothing and soon the tower began to show. He opens the door and we soon followed him inside. The door shut quickly behind us and an image of Kent Nelson appear before us.
"Greetings," he said. "You have entered with a key but the tower does not recognize you please state your purpose and intent."
"We are true believers here to find Doctor Fate," Wally said.
"God, the boy never does give up," Scarlet thought as she covers her eyes.
The image disappears and the floor started to shake soon we were all falling down. Megan quickly grabs Wally while Artemis helps Aqualad. Right before his feet could touch the lava. Scarlet took hold of Superboy hands.
"You just had to open your mouth!" Scarlet yells at Wally.
"It was an honest mistake," he said.
"I'm losing altitude and it so hot," Megan said.
"Yes you are"
"Wally," both Scarlet and Artemis said.
"My physiology is acceptable to extreme heat, we must climb out quickly," Aqualad said.
"I've got a better idea," Scarlet said. "Hold on to the wall," she throws Superboy up in the air towards the wall and quickly falls straight to the lava.
"Scarlet!" they yelled.
The lava started to slowly go down and you can see the top of Scarlet head. Then the lava disappears where you can stand on the floor. They all drop down seeing that she was just sitting there.
"Scarlet are you okay," Megan said.
"Yep just full at the moment I don't think I'll be able to help all of us fly out," she said.
"This is all your' fault!" Artemis yells.
"Next time you want to be Roast just let me know," she said to Wally. "I have a mountain full of lava with your name on it."
"Why is it my fault?"
"When you lied!" they both of them said again the both of them glare at each other.
"Sorry for not believing but everything can be explained with science," he said.
Aqualad open platform on the floor and they saw snow.
"It's cold," Megan said.
"I'm not going down there," Scarlet said.
"It's just a little snow," Artemis said.
"Well I'm opposite of Megan and Aqualad," she said. "I'll be no use to you guys down there and I can't really just take these off," showing off her bracelets. Aqualad gave her his jacket. "Your and angel," she said hurrying up to put it on. They jump through it and looks as if they are somewhere on a snowy mountain.
When we look over we saw a cane floating in the air both Artemis and Wally grabs it soon they were in the air taken away by it and disappeared. "Well there they go," she said.
They all started walking on the icy mountain.
"I don't understand Wally," Megan said. "It's almost like he needs to believe that the impossible can't happen."
"It's best to leave it alone and let him believe what he wants," Scarlet said. "It gets more confusing and hard when you do try to understand what's in that brain of his."
As we heard a noise we look over to see a door and a few steps walking towards them. As we enter the floor to the other side of the door was gone so the boys fell as Scarlet and Megan floated down. As we look around we notice that Kent Nelson was with Artemis and Wally.
"Friends of yours," he said as something shot up close to us as we duck. We turn to see that the Abra Kadabra and Klarion the Witch Boy were attacking.
As Wally and Kent disappearing into the bell we stayed to fight. One by one Abra Kadabra traps us with his magic.
"Hate… close… spaces," just as she drag those words out she was free and Superboy hits Abra Kadabra knocking him out.
We returned to Mount Justice, even after becoming Doctor Fate he still doesn't believe in magic. Everything seems okay for the moment, and Canary wasn't going to train them today. So Scarlet left them walking through the Zeta-Beams. Just as she got to the other side she got a phone call.
"Hello," she said.
"Anastasia"
"Roy?"
"Yeah, it's me I'm going to need some back up," he said.
"Should I tell the team?"
"No just you I think that the both of us could handle this"
"Your place or mine," she said as she started to walk towards the street.
