"Hey, (Y/s/n), what do you want to be when you're big?" Rin asked, his eyes focused on the television screen, his ears peeled and waiting for his son's reply.

Recently, (Y/s/n) had been visiting Rin's friends' houses to play with their kids and Rin wanted to make sure his son's head wasn't filled with 'not-exactly-usual' ideas of what to become when he was older. Wanting to become a merman, for example.

"I want to become what Daddy is!" He shouted out, making Rin turn to look at his son, grinning at the thought of his son wanting to follow in his footsteps.

"I want to be a swimmer!" he exclaimed, a bit too loudly.

A bit surprised, Rin tried to explain to his son that being a swimmer wasn't his job. "(Y/s/n), I'm a police officer," he said as he switched of the television, paying full attention to his son.

(Y/s/n) gave him one glance, "You're a swimmer."

"I am a police officer!" Your husband dragged each word for effect, a frown slowly making its way onto his face.

"You..." (Y/s/n) started while Rin waited for him to continue, "...are a swimmer," he finished with an air of surety. Itching to find out why his son didn't want to believe he was a police officer, he inquired into the strange matter.

"I have been doing some 'inveshtigating', Daddy, and I asked Mummy as well and we decided that you have shark teeth. And because the job of all the sharks in the sea is to swim, I was sure Daddy's job is to swim too!" Rin sighed, realizing that his teeth were the reason for all of this confusion.

Rin buried his head in his arms in frustration, trying to think up a way of getting his son to believe he is a police officer. Then, finally arriving at a plan, he grinned as he lifted his son onto his shoulder and carried him out of the house and into the garden.

"Do you see that little spider over there?" Rin asked his son, balancing him carefully as he bent down closer towards a little spider. (Y/s/n) nodded in reply, confused as to why he was being asked such a question.

"My job is like that! I lie in wait for naughty people that do naughty stuff. And then, without seeing my web, they get caught."

"And you try to eat them?" (Y/s/n) looked at your husband in disbelief. "So, you don't use your teeth for protection, then?"

Still a bit taken aback and disappointed that his genius idea of using a spider to explain had failed, he decided on another tactic; a normal explanation.

"Actually, let's not think of the spider, (Y/s/n). My job is to catch people when they do wrong stuff. For example if they steal something I go after them in my motorbike and I catch them and then they get punished."

"Oh! You should've said that earlier, Daddy! So, it's just like a school then? You punish the person if they do something wrong?" Rin was more than relieved that his son had understood, and gave a slight nod to answer (Y/s/n)'s questions.

Immediately after his nod, Rin narrowed his eyes, '(Y/s/n), don't go thinking that your school teacher is a police officer in disguise though...' He decided it was better keeping the thought to himself, rather than voicing it and giving his son ideas.

Not yet satisfied, (Y/s/n) came up with another question to ask. "Daddy, if you have to catch the bad person as soon as you see him, how do you catch a person when you're riding a motorbike?" your son wondered out loud, while Rin tried to think of an answer.

"Do you ask the bad person to get into the basket, Daddy?" he offered an answer to the question he asked, his eyes curiously watching his father as he doubled over in laughter. Rin had decided that he won't be saying anything else on the subject.
