Shun Pov.

While having breakfast at a 'petite' cafe, Alice told me everything, from Uncle Mikey handing Alice the riddle to teleporting herself on to the crazy Russian lady's lap. I listened the whole entire time without interrupting her. I just nodded now and then to show that she had my undivided attention.

"...And so now, you have another riddle." She finished while handing me an envelope, identical to the others I'd received. Except it was opened. I raised my eyebrow, making a blush and a guilty look appear on her face. "Sorry... I opened it to make sure it was important, I really shouldn't have invaded your privacy."

"It's okay. I mean, it's thanks to you I get this in the first place." I said, smiling. Though she looked relieved for being forgiven for 'invading my privacy', there was still a faint blush on her cheeks. It made her look much younger, and of course, much cuter. Damn it, Shun. You're here to talk about your father, not goggle at her. I averted my eyes, and said. "Ehem... I might as well read the riddle, right?"

Riddle 2, part 2...

I Hope you got this from Uncle Mikey,
It will help you finish what's needed done
To find me, or possibly riddle three
This will make things easier, son.
Again, I'm in the capital City.
Gleaming, with people from everywhere!
Everything here is certainly pretty.
Especially while eating a chocolate éclair.

Alice Pov.

"So... I guess he still is, or at least was, in France." Shun said, his eyes not leaving the riddle. It was like he was avoiding eye contact with me. Oh well... better for me, anyway. I don't want to be seen looking like a tomato face. "And lucky for me, my father narrowed it down to Paris. Yay, I guess."

"You mean lucky for us, Shun. I'm here too, you know." I reminded him. I was starting to think he didn'twant me here. He hadn't said that he was glad to have me here. He only gave me a small 'thanks' for giving him the riddle. "I mean, I still want to help you Shun, you know-"

"Maybe you shouldn't."

"Excuse me?" I was bewildered, but it was surpassed by the hurt I felt. Shun, though gloomy and quiet at times, was not one to be so bold (in the mean way). He usually kept thoughts like that to himself, unless he was really mad. And for him to just say to a close friend's face that they weren't needed, unless it was sarcasm directed toward Dan, was unheard of. "Is there a reason you don't want me here?"

"It's not that I don't want you here." I could hear the tiredness in his voice. He was still looking down at the riddle, his honey brown eyes still not meeting mine. "It's just, well... I caused you so much damn trouble. Maybe it's best if you just go back and relax. Not chase a hopeless dream with me."

"Excuse me, but what did you just say?" I hissed, much harsher than I had intended. But my anger had taken over, something very much unlike myself. I wouldn't be surprised if there were fumes bursting out of my ears. "I can't believe you would, first of all, call finding your father a 'hopeless dream'. And I thought we already went over the part where you didn't cause me trouble? What am I suppose to do if I go back? How am I even supposed to go back, huh Shun? I teleported here, I can't teleport back!"

I was out of breath from my sudden outburst. I was glad I wasn't the type to scream like hell was freezing over when I was mad, because if I was, everybody in the cafe would be staring at us. However, Shun was staring at me with his jaw dropped open, similar to the way it was when he saw me on the train. He stayed silent, and I could sense he was battling himself for words to say.

"Well, since you're not talking, I'm leaving." I felt like a cocky diva, and that was not how I wanted to be. Unfortunately, Shun wasn't making things easy for me. I left cash on the table to pay for my meal, and walked out the door.

Shun Pov.

People started staring the moment Alice walked out of the cafe. They didn't need to know English to know there was clearly a situation with an upset girl and a too-stunned-for-words guy. Except they probably thought it had to do with problems with 'love'.

I copied Alice's actions and left money on the table, right next to the bill. The waiter had his arms crossed and was giving me a hard look. Dude, I get it. You think this is some scene in which I hurt some girl's feelings... But I guess you're right.

I followed Alice's footsteps out the door and into the streets. And what sucked was that it was pouring with rain. Starting to become soaking wet, I looked around my surroundings and saw a glimpse of flowing red hair. I chased after it without second thoughts.

When I finally caught up to her, we were both completely soaked from head to toe. It didn't stop me from grabbing her arm. Though I had no idea why what I'd said had upset her so much, I apologized. "Look, Alice. I'm sorry for being an idiot..."

Alice Pov.

"It's fine." I said curtly after shaking Shun off my arm. I didn't feel like talking to him at all. Part of me was guilty for being so immature for getting upset with him for nothing. The other stronger part of me was stubborn, and still was upset at Shun for telling me that I should leave, and saying that finding his father was hopeless.

We both stood in the pouring rain, silent. The only sounds audible were the splashing of the raindrops, the people's chatter and footsteps while walking by, and Shun and I's breathing. It was awkward, and what made it worse was that we were only inches apart. I think he was waiting for me to elaborate on the whole 'It's fine' business, and he probably wanted me to tell him what upset him. I didn't do either.

What we did do, in synchronized motions, was turn our heads towards the voice of a close friend we'd known since the age of twelve.

"OMG! What are you two doing here?"

woohoo, I like this chapter a lot more than the last one. I hope you thought the same too :\ even if it wasn't a funny chapter. The riddle was really bad though... Again, sorry for the random updates. Writers block kills my few brain cells ^^. Review as usual :)!
