"911, what is your emergency?"
"I'd just called a little while ago about my boyfriend being stabbed, but I forgot to mention the details about who did it. Angus Chesnut, one of our friends when we were younger, turned evil. I don't know where he is now, but I know his phone number."
"Okay, what is it?"
Right then, Angus tried to call me. I didn't even need to search for his number! "Um, 7369330247."
"Okay, thank you, Ma'am. We'll try to sort this out for you. I hope your boyfriend is going to be okay!"
"Thanks, and I hope so too."
I closed my phone. I definitely didn't want to talk to Angus. One of the doctors came out of Fletcher's room. He looked down at his clipboard.
"Uh, Olivia?"
I stood up. "Yes, Doctor?"
"Fletcher is, well, you may come in."
He was just lying there, so pale that I thought he was going to melt. He was too weak to look at me, so I sat next to him. I knew he knew I was there because he held my hand. I just closed my eyes and had all sorts of memories of when we were younger. Like that time we had our first candy apples; he had caramel all over his face! And our first roller coaster.. I wasn't scared, but he was! And our first kiss. That was the best memory I could ever have. I kept replaying that moment in my head, hoping that he would become better so we could kiss again. And again. And again. But before that, we would have to get married, raise a family, grow old together.. I would've had more thoughts, but I was interrupted by a nurse coming in on us.
"Olivia, how is Fletcher doing?"
I held up our hands. The nurse smiled.
"Did his surgery go well?"
"Actually, yes. He should be better in about one month."
I looked over at him. He was just staring at the ceiling. "Fletch.. did you hear that? You're going to be better in four weeks! Only twenty-eight days!"
He just smiled. This was going to be a long process.
