Chapter 10

Bailando

I could find no words to say. I had always dreamed of meeting my real parents. Of course I loved the parents who adopted me, but I still wanted to find my birth parents. I smiled and threw my arms around him. He held me tightly and tears of joy fell down my face. When I pulled away I asked the question I had longed to.

"Why did you send me away?" I asked.

"We had no choice. You were only a baby and the world was becoming too dangerous. After your mother was attacked I did not know what else to do. You were with her. She managed to hide you before she was taken. When your brothers…."

"Brothers?"

He nodded.

"You have to older brothers and an older sister. Elrohir, Elladan, and Arwen. We named you Ireth, however I shall understand if you wish to keep your current name."

I nodded. I had more family then I did when I came here.

"And your brother, he is as much a part of my family as you were of his. He is welcome here."

I smiled again and thanked him.

"I have to figure out how to tell him."

"Be certain you tell him before tonight. I am holding a feast in honor of your return."

I heard something behind a shelf. I silently snuck around and found my brother.

"Alejandro!"

He jumped a bit and looked at me. I dragged him out from behind the shelf and crossed my arms.

"Usted sabe que no debe caminar alrededor todavía." (You know you should not be walking around yet.) I said.

"No pude encontrar. ¿Qué se supone que debía hacer?" (I couldn't find you. What was I supposed to do?)

I sighed and shook my head.

"Plus, I kinda always knew."

I looked at him a bit worried about his reaction. He smiled.

"I knew you were a freak of nature."

We started to laugh and I hugged him.

"Gracias hermano."

He pat me on the back. I smiled when I realized there was a way I could get back at Thorin.

"Hermano, I need you to do something for me."

He smiled.

"If it has to do with teaching Thorin a lesson count me in." he said.

Thorin's POV

The elves were holding a feast. It was in honor of the return of their princess. I was not one for elven festivals and feasts, but my nephews begged me to go. I gave in and we all gathered in the Hall of Fire. I saw Alejandro there, he was having a difficult time walking. He was standing with the musicians. Lord Elrond presented his daughter and my jaw dropped when I saw who it was.

"E-Elena!?"

She smiled and bowed. The music started and it was unlike any music I had ever heard. Elena started to dance with several other female elves behind her. I had never seen a woman dance the way she was. I guessed this was something from the world she came from. I could not take my eyes off her, it was as though I was under a spell. Her long hair was let down and it fell past her hips. She was absolutely beautiful.

Elena's POV

Thorin was staring at me as I had planned. I smiled and winked at him and I saw him blush. I finished my dance and there was a deafening applause, the loudest of which came from the dwarves. Thorin was still standing there like a statue. I looked at Alejandro and he winked. My twin brothers came to me and took me to the table. My sister, Arwen, hugged me and kissed my cheek. Alejandro got along well with the twins, they saw him as a kid brother. My father accepted him as one of the family and this made me beyond happy. Apparently there was no drinking age here. Alejandro had more wine than I cared to admit. The dwarves took care of him, for they too had grown fond of him. My sister and I were walking out near the gardens when I saw Thorin. He was drinking and it looked like he was drunk. I sighed.

"I better go and make sure he does not do anything he will regret tomorrow."

"Are you sure? I have heard dwarves can be…..unpredictable when they drink." she said.

I smiled, I knew she was worried about me.

"Trust me. I will be fine. Someday I will tell you why I can do what I can, but I need to make sure he does not do anything stupid."

She nodded and hugged me. I walked over to Thorin and he gave me a smile.

"You are a lovely dancer."

"Thorin, you are drunk."

"Aye."

I sighed and shook my head.

"I think you have had enough."

I tried to take the flask away but he moved it out of my reach.

"Thorin please do not make me get rough." I said.

He laughed a deep rolling laugh and my heart skipped a beat. He had such a beautiful laugh. When I finally managed to get the bottle, it was empty. Unfortunately for me, he had another one.

"You damn dwarf! How many flasks do you have on you!?" I hissed.

He gave me a cheeky smile.

"Would you like to find out?"

I growled in frustration and grabbed it. I quickly opened it and drank before he could do anything. Whatever was inside, was incredibly strong. I felt a little dizzy.

"I know where to get more either way." He said.

I looked at him angrily.

Looks like I have to take one for the team.
