Zi held Drake's arm tightly, extreme nervousness nestling in her stomach. DP looked down at the human and curled a wing around her in a protective manor.
The cobblestone streets were bustling with activity. Many voices called out about their items and fair prices.
Zi's eyes traveled all over, looking to food to weapons to gear to books. She examined the peoples faces and bodies comparing them to Drake. They had scales, tails, wings and head crests like him but in totally different colors. Some were blue, red, green, yellow, grey, black and even hot pink. She hoped that that one was a girl.
As they walked on though the cobblestone roads, more and more dragon people crowded them. It surprised Zi, there were so many people, so many interconnecting, looping spiral bridges and not to mention the ability to fly. Yet the crowds just kept getting more condensed. Some had a look of awe on their face as they saw Zi. Most went up to greet the Dragon Prince, while some of the more curious went up to touch Zi's arms or sniff her.
One dragon, a midnight blue tinted man held onto Zi's arm while Drake had his head turned to greet his people. Zi yelped in surprise, the man's grip was bone-crushing while his hands remained relaxed. He looked closely at her arm with wide eyes, tilting his head in thought. Zi kept her mouth closed and her eyebrows pulled in while her unoccupied hand clutched Mark's knitted mouth.
Drake turned and saw her expression, then with a calm, regal voice he said, "Excuse me sir, please release my guest. She is not one to be touched."
Drake gently pulled Zi closer to him as her arm was released. "She is very... Fragile."
He then curled his silver wing around her, just enough to shield her from the other dragons. They made it to the massive front doors of the castle and slipped in, leaving the crowd outside. As soon as the doors shut, tears welled in her eyes and she touched her reddening arm releasing a loud stream of "OW! OW! OW! OW! OW! OWWWWW!"
Drake chuckled watching her hop around, "Zi come here." She stopped bouncing and turned to him.
"Let me see your arm." She held it out, pouting and sniffling like a five year old. He lightly held her arm, examining. "You'll be fine. There's some water in the garden that will soothe your injury."
Her eyes lit up. "Garden?"
Intrigued, she followed him as he led her down a long red and purple hallway and out through some glass doors relieving a giant courtyard filled with all kinds of flowers and trees. To her right was a pond filled with dark blue water, all kinds of small aquatic animals swam or bathed in the sun, from tiny frogs to kandy koi.
"Wow," she breathed, taken by it's beauty, "So nice."
Drake dipped his hand in the water of a silver bird bath and lightly rubbed Zi's arm. She closed her eyes and sighed in relief. Looking up at him with sweet green eyes, she thanked him, making his purple face a shade darker.
The dragon prince smiled. "Don't mention it princess."
It was Zi's turn to blush. "I-I'm not a princess Drake."
"Don't you consider Mark a tiara?"
"Nope," Mark answered. "Hey! Zi, I thought we had something!" He yelled, hitting the sides of her face with his flaps.
"Ow ow ow! Nyaaa!" Zi covered her mouth While Drake grinned.
"Are you part cat or..."
"No! I just... Um, uh... Ur, MAY NEIHS LIKE A HORSE WHEN SHE SEES CENTIPEDES! IT'S JUST A THING!"
Drake held his side as he laughed. "O-okay, okay." He pulled Mark off of her head and put him in her hands. "From now on, I forbid you to wear Mark on dragon kingdom grounds. That way, May won't pester you."
The human sighed and straitened her ginger hair. "Thanks, you have no idea how annoying those two can be."
"Come, let's greet Bee Princess."
Zi gulped, thankful Mark was in her pocket and not shouting aloud her thoughts.
Drake, Zi, and Bee Princess all sat in a large conference hall. Bee Princess informed Drake of any news or business, while Zi sat next to him, glancing at Bee Princess. Drake was explaining where he had been when the large conference door slammed open, revealing a very peeved Marshall Lee and May.
Marshall wore a dark silver crown that had flat spikes on it that looked like they were so sharp, they could slice a hair down the middle. The front spike was taller than the others and had a slender, diamond-shaped ruby. His clothes were torn in a few places and his axe base was crusted in dried blood.
May had on a very large, blue flannel shirt and her grey leggings were torn. Her black and red hair hung loosely over her shoulders and past her waist.
Bee Princess's indifferent expression did not change.
"May!" Zi called, running to her older sister. "May, what happened? Are you ok?"
Marshall glared at the princess in disgust. May sighed, trying to calm herself.
"I think Bee Princess knows 'what happened.'" May spat, reaching for a black bladed sword attached to her belt.
"I can't say that i do human girl."
May clenched her fists. "Stop lying! Tell them what you did or I will!"
Drake looked at the three, Marshall's face was cold while May looked like she and Bo could spit fire, Bee Princess had on a solid poker face. The dragon prince stood abruptly and glared at BP.
"What did you do Hunnybee?"
At the sound of her name, her poker face faltered but only for a second. "I've done nothing wrong Drake."
"You're lying. You did something."
Bo flew over to Zi and dug in her pocket, much to the girl's confusion. He pulled out Mark and flew over to BP, forcing the hat on her head. Mark's eyes turned blue, and he frantically shouted, "IN THE DUNGON! SHE PUT THEM IN THE DUNGON!"
May woke up feeling faint and drowsy. Everything around her was pitch black, even when her eyes had adjusted, she had to squint to make out the soft light between the prison bars in front of her.
Scratching her head, she realized that her hair tie was missing and she had two separate shackles on her wrists. She became more aware of the freezing stone floor and wall she sat against. The two shackles looked as if they had been melted at the chains, allowing her to move her hands freely.
Bo shifted on her head and nuzzled his nose on into her hair, letting her know of his presence. She smiled and pet his large ears.
"Marshall?" She whispered.
Suddenly, a single candle lit itself, creating a weak yellow glow in the tiny cell. May looked over to a corner and saw Marshall, tied and bound with chains, hands above his head.
"Sup," he said casually.
"Hey... Where are we?"
"In the Bee Kingdom dungeon."
"Oh," she nodded. "Why are we in the Bee Kingdom dungeon?"
"We just walked in."
She sighed in slight annoyance. "Ok... Why did i pass out?"
"Bird hit you on the head, we ran away and ended up here. Bee Princess said we're going to say for a while. Don't worry though Batty, i gotta plan. Come here."
May crawled along the wall until she was sitting on her knees in front of him.
"Ok, now what?"
"Center your face to the corner and cross your eyes."
"And what's the point?"
"Our escape. Trust me, it'll be cool."
Crossing her green eyes in the corner, a swirling red portal opened, making her jump back in surprise.
Marshall leaned back into the portal and floated into a backflip, finally facing May again. He grinned at the sight of May looking into the Nightosphere. The portal had opened far above the ground like it always did, giving her the perfect high view of the fire and lava.
"Ready Batty?"
She glared at him in shock. "No! Do you see how high up it is from the ground!"
The Vampire King did not feel like arguing at the moment, he wanted revenge. Without warning, he grabbed her around her waist and held her close. She screamed as they descended, covering her eyes.
Marshall turned in the air, balancing May on his stomach. She sat up and punched his chest which made him laugh.
May sighed and laughed along nervously, doing her best to focus her sight on him and not the ground. He floated lazily in the air with his arms behind his head.
"What is this place Marshall?"
"The Nightosphere, I was born here."
May chuckled. "You were born here? Well that makes sense."
"I am pure evil."
"Na, I still think you're just a hobo."
"Oh?"
"I don't like that look." She groaned.
AN/ Man, this chapter has been troublesome. Xathina and I had to redo it once or twice. Worth it though, ne?
The next chapter is probably going to have a lot of Marshall Lee and May, just for flashback purposes. Then, you get plenty of derpa derp moments with Zi, Mark, DP, and maybe BP
Please review!~ ^^
