Planning Perfection
Chapter Ten: Fiction
Edward's POV
"I'm sorry Edward." Bella apologised after stepping on my foot another time. That was a regular occurrence in these dance lessons but I didn't mind. Just being this close to her was a blessing.
After our phone call I expected our first meeting together would be awkward but it was not. It was as though we just pushed our feelings for one another to the side; we put a pin in it and would take that pin out once the wedding was over. So I was going to count down the days.
"Now Bella, focus on me." I said, looking into her deep brown eyes.
"I'll try." She answered, not looking down.
"Good. I wanted to go through our plans for our new house." She smirked and nodded.
"Go on."
"Well, what would you like from our family home?" Slowly I led her round the floor, waiting for her answer.
"Enough bedrooms for our expanding family, a big beautiful kitchen, a dining room, a study for you to work from so the kids don't miss out on time with their father, a large garden at the back where we can host birthdays and celebrations together, just that sort of stuff." She smiled at me.
"You like to cook?"
"I love to cook." I nodded and smiled back picking up on the first thing she said in her list.
"Our expanding family? Are we having more children?"
"Would you like more?"
"Maybe."
"Girl or boy?"
"Either." Slowly I followed the steps of the dance, a little behind the music than we should have but it was to save my feet from being trampled on.
"So do you think we could live in harmony together as a family?" I asked, playing along with our ever expanding joke.
"I think we could. I wouldn't have married you in I didn't think so." She smiled.
"Is this weird?" Bella frowned at my question, clearly not getting what I meant. "I mean us having a fictional family and a fictional life?"
"Well I guess a little but it's a fun little role-play. Why do you not like it?"
"No of course I do. Why wouldn't I like having you as my wife and having three beautiful children?" She smiled and nodded.
"Good to hear that we aren't a burden on you."
"Of course not, you never could be." The tension was there again, it seemed inevitable with us, but we did as we always do and ignored it. And let me tell you that was no easy task when every muscle was aching for me to just pull her body to mine and keep her there.
"What are your parents called?" I asked, wanting to know more about Bella and also trying to get us back on mutual terms, none of those lust filled thoughts running riot.
"Charlie and Renee. My step-father is called Phil. How about yours?"
"Carlisle and Esme."
"What do they do?" She asked, her thumb slowly running against my hand as we danced.
"My father is a doctor and my mother is an interior decorator. And yours?"
"Charlie is the chief of police in my hometown, Renee is a substitute teacher and Phil is a minor league baseball player. Renee and Phil live in the states, not here." I nodded but was focusing on the softness of her skin in my hand.
"I feel like I should tell you something." I said honestly, watching her appearance change slightly. I'm pretty sure she thought I was going to talk about the restricted topic, us being together, but I wasn't.
"Okay."
"Since you are my wife I find it only logical that you know why I'm not at work for six months." I tried to make light of the situation but it wasn't really.
"Go ahead." She squeezed my hand.
"I...I had an outburst…it's complicated. One of the patients came in, I did my best to treat them but later…someone close to them was hurting them, that's how they got there. They were young, a child and I couldn't handle it. I beat the person causing them harm to the floor in the waiting room." Bella stopped dancing with me and just looked at me softly.
"The hospital refused to fire me as I am very good in my field but wanted me to take time out so I could get some help with anger, though I do still believe I was just in beating that man."
"Come with me." She pulled me away and took me out into the hall, leaving AJ and Rose and Emmett dancing away. I had hardly noticed them at all that lesson, my thoughts were preoccupied on Bella and the proximity of her body to mine.
Once we were in the hall she pulled me into a hug, wrapping me close to her, putting her arms round my neck and her head in my chest. I did the same, smelling the strawberry scent of her hair, feeling her body mould to me and the softness of her skin. She was beautiful and at that point in time she was hugging me, making me feel worthy.
The many sins I had committed seemed to be washed away with the angel in my arms, holding me as though I was something special. This was one woman I never wanted to let go of. There were only a few months until the wedding, that's all I had to wait to be with her.
Bella pulled back and put her hands on my cheeks. She slowly leant up, bringing her eyes the same level as mine and our lips so close. Her thumb caressed my bottom lip before she kissed my cheek and made a step back.
"How are you coping, not being at work?" Obviously we weren't going to talk about what almost just had happened, the fact we were so close to kissing and yet still hadn't.
"Fine, I guess. It's a bit of a struggle but with the wedding I'm amusing myself even though it is tedious work. There's nothing I can do about it though so I just mosey on by."
"If you need to talk you know you can call me right?" I nodded and she smiled. "I'm here for you Edward, right?"
"Of course Bella." She nodded and returned to the Bella I was dancing with.
"Are we planning the honeymoon after this?"
"Yeah, Jasper gave me all the details; we just have to set it up. It shouldn't be that much of a problem."
"Of course not, we should be good at that considering we only had ours a year or so ago."
"True, you do know that meant you were pregnant with the boys when we got married, if you hadn't already had them?" She frowned then smiled.
"I guess you're right. Is that a problem, our boys were born out of wedlock even though we are married now?"
"Not t all. We created two beautiful twin boys, and now a little girl, why would any of that be a problem?" I smirked.
"Good."
"Okay I don't know what you two are doing out here but get back in and dance, I can't have the best man and the maid of honour looking like idiots out there on the dance floor." Alice called, after sticking her head out the door.
"If you two want to make out do it after the dance lessons. We'll make sure you're both by yourselves." She shut the door and left us alone.
"Right, well, even she thinks we should kiss. Why haven't we?" I asked, pushing my luck a bit.
"Because one kiss is not enough." She stated clearly before she went back into the dance class.
I followed her back in and took a seat at the side. They were swapping partners round. Emmett was now dancing with Bella, Rose was with Jasper and Alice was sitting down next to me. She gave me a quizzical look before grabbing me up from the chair to dance.
"How are things going with you and Bella? Now don't tell me nothing is going on because the sexual tension is huge, everyone can feel it." I sighed, glancing over at Bella and watching her smile happily as Emmett made a joke.
"We won't be together until the wedding is done. It would be too difficult making our relationship work while trying to make everything come together."
"Well that's just rubbish. Rose and Emmett are making it work." Alice pointed out.
"True but they don't have as many responsibilities as Bella and me."
"Okay I got you there but you do want her right? Not just for sex, you actually like her?"
"Alice if given the choice I would spend every day of my life with her." I answered honestly.
"Oh Edward, you have it bad."
"Don't I know it?" I muttered following the steps of the dance.
"Okay everyone, you have all done excellent today. That's today's lesson finished. I'll see you all next week for the final one." The teacher called, bringing an end to our time here.
"Make sure I have a good honeymoon Edward." Alice warned, skipping over to Jasper before the two of them left.
"You ready to get the honeymoon on the go?" I asked as Bella walked over.
"Ours or theirs?" She joked.
"Let's have ours." I raised my eyebrow and watched as she bit her lip, clearly tempted.
"Not yet. Come on." She grabbed my arm and pulled me outside. We got inside my car and I drove us back to my apartment so we could use my laptop.
"Where do they want to go?" Bella asked, sitting next to me.
"Jasper wants to take Alice to away for a week somewhere quiet and remote but then take her to a city where she can shop to her heart's content." I explained.
"Right, so I'm thinking Seychelles for a week and then New York, Paris, Milan or something like that." Bella suggested.
"Sounds good. Let's get started."
With that we got to work. It didn't take long to get all the flights and hotels booked. That had probably been one of the easiest jobs we have had to tackle. Everything else involved complications that put Bella and I in difficult positions trying to make everything come together for AJ's perfect day. Which was not getting any closer no matter how much I wished it would.
After we had the honeymoon sorted out Bella was getting ready to leave. For some reason, all though the air was fine between us, I felt like there was something wrong or odd. That was not meant to happen. That phone call was meant to clear the air of tension and any problems we might have had, not create new ones.
The problem was I didn't know how to bring the topic up, especially since we agreed not to discuss it until after the wedding. If I kept pushing my luck Bella would no doubt grow sick of it and want nothing to do with me. If that happened I don't know what I would do. She's addictive and there is no way I would be physically able to stay away from her now. Now that I know how beautiful she is on the inside and out.
"Well thanks for today." She said at the door.
"It was nothing, we did it together so thanks to you too." Bella smiled and nodded before patting my arm and leaving. No hug, no kiss on the cheek, no sign of affection.
Maybe I had already pushed my luck too much and now was paying for doing so. Well whatever it was, I would have to sort it out soon. I refuse to go my days without Bella, my fictional wife.

I found this chapter a bit choppy so tried to fix a bit of it, that's why there was no update yesterday. Updates will return to one a day again now though.
