End of First Day

Chapter 10

After the lunch bell rang and everyone managed to get back into their seats and classes, it was already nearing 1 o'clock on the dot. Eventually anyone could basically tell that the children we're becoming restless and looked quite tired. Of course then it is natural for Kindergarten teachers to have nap-times or rest-times as they say during the mid afternoon of the day, so Kakashi advised the children that within 10 minutes everyone would have an hour nap-time. The class either groaned or managed a smile or two.

"Now everyone let's get the mats out of the closet, who would like to help me?"

"Oh... Mister Hatake… ME!"

"Alright Naruto come on let's get it then," Kakashi said before smiling. So both went towards the back closet and rummaged through some boxes of things, pulling out blankets, and the mats. Dusting some off and sniffing for good measure Naruto handed out each classmate a mat and blanket. While Kakashi watched from the sidelines, writing thing's down on a notepad. Kakashi sighed heavily noticing the rips on some blankets and mats; he needed to go to the store eventually after the end of the day to get new ones for the kids. He didn't want them laying on them today considering they looked old but it will have to do for now.

"Alright guys let's move the entire desks aside and make room for some space," Kakashi helped the children left and right moving desks in organized fashion. While some we're maneuvering their mats here and there, after 5 minutes everyone was situated on the floor. Relaxed and ready to go Kakashi turns the music on the stereo and outcomes peaceful ocean noises and sounds. Some kids are already closing their eyes while some others are just looking at the ceiling ready to begin falling asleep.

"Rest little ones I am sure you need it right now," Kakashi said.

"Sure thing Mister Hatake," Ino said while closing her eyes.

"Yeah will be awesome sleepers for ya," Choji managed to say before drifting off into a sleepless dream.

"Well that's quite nice of you; hold on…Does anyone need to use the bathroom before they take their nap?"

Everyone or merely the ones still awake shake their heads no, expect a little raven who mumbled yes.

"What was that Sasuke?"

"I need to go," the child mumbled again.

"Alright anyone else," Naruto and then Hinata both managed a little yawn before they said yes as well, "Alright you three come with me, while….Sakura you watch the class for me, please."

"No problem Mr. Hatake," she said while eagerly nodding her head.

"Alright let's go," Kakashi and the little three children walked pretty fast to the same bathrooms Sasuke was spanked at early. Instructing to hurry up Kakashi waits for Hinata to safely walk through the girl's door then walks towards the other bathroom with Naruto and Sasuke. Which it seems at the moment both children look sleepy and restless. Naruto runs to the first stall while Sasuke walks slowly to the urinal by the sinks, although in his predicament it would seems all are two big for him to use.

"Well that's stupid," the raven mumbled.

"Not really your just not proper height yet, it'll come to you in due time. But why don't you use a stall instead?"

"Hn," the little raven grunted and walked to a stall near Naruto's. Kakashi chuckled at the kids actions and leaned on the wall next to the sinks. Patiently waiting for both boys to finish up, he went through his phone that was recently in his pocket. 1 new text message it kept blinking when he opened it, realizing it was from Obito no doubt. "Hey Kashi! Meet me at the bar later after your so called work is over: P," Rolling his eyes Kakashi texted back "Whatever you crazy maniac," which instantly Obito texted back, "You wound me." Whatever as if, Kakashi thought as always Obito knows how to make me chuckle and possibly laugh my as- butt off… glancing up he noticed both kids we're looking at him funny.

"Why are you on your phone?"

"Because I am, did you two wash your hands?"

"Can't reach," both boys said together.

"Should of known alright come here," Kakashi put his phone back into his pocket and picked up Naruto first since he was closer then waited for him to finish.

"Alright wait outside for me and see if Hinata may be done, but of course don't go into the bathroom for her," Naruto giggled and nodded his head, " Come here Sasuke so we can get back to the room," the kid walked slowly towards him before getting lifted up and started washing his hands. He got put down and scrubbed away the wetness with a paper towel, before trailing after Kakashi. Sasuke was following the others until he bumped into Kakashi without even knowing he was right behind him.

"Sorry," said child mumbled.

"No problems come along," Kakashi gestured towards the classroom door before shutting it after Sasuke was the last to come in. All three children hurried along back towards their mat very quietly, before Kakashi could direct them. He shrugged and walked towards his desk but of course not before saying sleep well to the three he took for the bathrooms.

Kakashi glanced up from his book and watched each child slowly seeing the rise and fall of their chest made him realize something. He is old true, but this job teaching and ultimately caring for these kids, might lighten his mood in life. Not that he is simply so depressed in it, but he generally feels he is missing something in it. Something he himself can't quite grasp or put his finger on it. Shaking his head lightly Kakashi goes back to reading his Icha Icha Paradise books, generally if the principal of this school found out about him reading these he wouldn't blame her for yelling or lecturing him.

Considering they are quite inappropriate for little ones eyes to be reading and getting their hands on it as well. Glancing at the clock it's only been slightly 30 minutes since he directed the kids to take a snoozing nap.

Feeling his phone vibrate again, he glances downwards to the message his friend Obito left again. "Text me back: /," rolling his eyes he manages to text out another message, "I am busy Obito considering I am a teacher now and looking after children." Shrugging and leaning back in his chair he awaits another thirty seconds before another vibrate noise comes around. "Whatever : D But can't wait to chat later you gotta tell me all your daily adventures today," sighing heavily he manages out another lazy text, "Suppose I do have a few little details and things to go over," he chuckles lightly before sending.

Shrugging and glancing back at the clock on the upper wall, Kakashi sighed. Another ten minutes has passed, seems now during this time it has gotten slower than normal. He was about to get up and move over towards the door when a shriek filled the room. Suddenly nearly all the children we're slowly waking up on to what that loud noise was. Sitting up dazed and confused, Sasuke yawned lightly before rubbing his little eyes. Looking down as to what the cause was Kakashi realized it was Sakura who was shrieking. Lightly jolting her awake she was wide-eyed and near to tears.

"Oh...I dreamt I was being chased by this stupid monster of evil and he started chasing me!"

"Sakura it was just a dream I am certain of that."

"But it felt so real!"

"I am sure it did, but that's what a dream does. Makes you feel as if it's actually happening," Kakashi said.

"Okay," she breathes in and out before looking around and continuing, "I didn't mean to wake you guys up."

"No matter," Kakashi shrugged lightly, "I was going to wake them up in five minutes anyway."

"Oh okay," she said while smiling around the other classmates. Rolling their eyes and a few snorting loudly they smiled back.

"Alright everyone seems that we should continue on studies then sleeping now," glancing around him noticing one thing out of place, "Where is Sasuke?"

"Mr. Hatake he went back to sleep," Naruto said before pointing towards Sasuke. Trying to hide a chuckle he gently tried waking Sasuke back up. Sleepy eyed and groggily looking he whines.

"I don't want to let's sleep more," the little raven mumbled.

"No, Sasuke it's nearing 2 o'clock now. School ends for you guys within another hour. Let's play a game in the meantime shall we?"

"Fine I guess," he said with annoyance.

Rolling his own eyes Kakashi finishes on talking, "Alright guys what kind of game would you all like to play within the meantime?"

"Oh! Let's play a card game!"

"Maybe we should play a board game instead."

"Or a….food game," Choji said with upmost excitement.

"Or we could just sleep again," the little raven said.

"One at a time everyone please if you will. No Naruto let's not play a card game maybe tomorrow. Shikamaru I don't even think you guys can play a decent board game without getting bored easily. Choji that in itself sounds interesting but lunch time is already gone and past, and Sasuke again no," Kakashi said the last bit of that sternly receiving a glare from the little Uchiha.

"What about an exercise game?"

"Hm, that could actually be interesting to do Ino. What did you have in mind?"

"Well we could play hot lava."

"What is hot lava," after Kakashi said this every child looked at him dumbfounded.

"You never played hot lava?" Kakashi shook his head no.

"It's like our game amongst our generation," Sakura declared," First we pick the person who is supposed to be in the middle while we place ourselves in a circle around them. Then we get a ball that we are trying to keep away from in the person of the middle, if someone like throws the ball wrong to the person next to them and bounces to like the middle the person in the middle will grab it and has to touch the person who dropped it, but the person has to say hot lava fast before they get touched, if they don't they are in the middle." Wide-eyed and even slightly shocked at Sakura's well-established speech Kakashi nodded his head.

"Alright let's do it, who is going to be in the middle," no one said anything till a hand shot up, "You sure Naruto?"

"Yeah I am a total stud at this game."

"I am sure...Alright let's get into a circle," Kakashi gestured towards the right before saying something again, "and Choji give me that ball we had earlier." Throwing the ball effectively over towards Kakashi he grasped it with ease as everyone got into position. Within moments of throwing the first round Naruto effectively tried and tried to get the ball when people kept on saying "Hot Lava," every now and then he would get mad and stomp his little feet of trying to get others in the middle.

"Naruto I thought you we're good at this," Ino said while passing the ball towards Choji.

"Yeah you even boasted about it," Choji said before passing towards Sasuke.

"Seems you aren't," Sasuke said before passing towards Shino.

"Alright I get it!"

"No need to get mad Naruto they are just teasing," Kakashi managed to say after Shino passed it towards him. Suddenly he slightly lost his balance and dropped the ball. Naruto lunged forward towards it and grabbed it. While Kakashi was straitening himself back to balance he forgot to say "Hot Lava," which then made Naruto touch him with the ball, he sighed heavily.

"Seems Mr. Hatake is in the middle now," Shino declared.

"Yeah let's see what ya got!"

"Alright...Let's see then," before Kakashi could move into the circle the bell rang for ending of the day. As in the whole school was now let out considering classes we're over.

"Alright before you leave take your things and straighten up the desks back to the way they we're," Kakashi said sternly before helping kids get their backpacks on and the desks back into order. Patting the head of Sakura and Ino, Kakashi turned around to see Sasuke and Naruto almost out the door.

"Remember to play nice you two and don't think I won't know," Kakashi said.

"Yes Mr. Hatake, we will. Duh," Naruto said with a cheerful glee.

"Hn," the little raven mumbled before he followed his best friend out the door. Chuckling softly before looking around the room Kakashi let out a nice sigh of contentment. Although there were some troubles along during the day he fairly enjoyed the company of these kids. Seems he does have quite a lot to tell for Obito later on, Kakashi grabbed his backpack along his desk and locked the door behind him. Waving goodbye's to the previous kindergarten teachers' he walked out of the school doors, with a goofy grin.
