Kaylie's P.O.V.

The morning sun was coming in with a vengeance as her eyes fluttered open. Her mind groggy, she rubbed at her forehead before trying to sit up. As she tried to get up, though, there was suddenly a heavy weight on her stomach, and the realization hit her that she wasn't in her bed, wasn't home; but most importantly, she wasn't alone.

She hadn't slept alone.

In fact, they had done a whole lot more than sleeping.

Kaylie looked to the side to see Austin on his side, his arm slung around her, but his mouth and eyes closed…he was peaceful.

Regret hit her instantly, though.

Was I good enough for him?

The tears began welling before she could stop them, and she moved his arm off of her and got off the bed. She began looking for her clothes on the floor, and after picking them all up, she walked into his bathroom.

She had barely anything of hers with her, so she opted to attempt to use his comb for her hair. It looked decent when she was done, but not the best. She dressed back into her dress and wedges, and as for makeup and teeth brushing, well, that would have to wait for when she got home.

She wasn't sure if she should put makeup on now anyway considering the tears that were about to fall.

Sure enough, when she exited the bathroom, he was awake…and blocking her exit.

Fear hit her at the same time as the regret did.

"What's wrong?" he asked, his arms crossed, his eyes narrowed, but his voice light, and soft…caring.

"I need to go home, Austin."

"Not until after you tell me what's wrong." He said, defiantly.

She averted her gaze – knowing the tears were coming, "It's…I…I don't know. I need to go."

"Do you regret what happened last night?"

"What? No…I…"

"Kaylie, listen to me," he stepped toward her now and cupped her face in his hands, "I'm not going to stand here and let you leave like this. Now tell me, what's wrong."

She moved out of his grip and sat down on the bed, "What's wrong is that I'm not good enough for you. I'm not pretty, I'm too thin…you've got no reason to be with me; and I can't blame you… I'm sure you're just ready to go out and find some other girl who's actually dateable. And, that way, you won't be Mr. Kaylie Cruz…"

"Hey, hey, hey, we are not going back to this, okay? I chose you. I want you. I saved you, and I wouldn't change a thing about you. I don't regret last night, and I was terrified when I woke up and you weren't here. Then I couldn't find any of your clothes… the only way I knew you were still here was your purse on the nightstand still."

She looked at him now, and he grabbed her hands in his, "You're right, you aren't pretty," her face fell before he could continue; so he put his index finger below her chin and brought her face back up to his, "you're beautiful. You're not too thin, you're working on perfect, and I've got every reason to be with you. You make me a better person. You challenge me. It's you I want. It's you I'm with. You're here. I chose you too. Don't forget that. And if you're not dateable, I hope you figure out how to be soon, because we've got one scheduled for Tuesday after practice."

Kaylie's face lit up, and she smiled before he brought their lips together in a kiss.

If Kaylie's mind was groggy before, it was even worse after she pulled away. "Thank you, but I do really have to get home. My parents are going to kill me…"

Austin shook his head, "You fell asleep first. After you fell asleep, your parents called. I answered it. I told them you had a really, really bad night, and that you didn't feel like driving home and had fallen asleep before giving me your address. I told them that I had gotten us a ride back to my place, and I was taking the couch."

She thumped him in the shoulder.

"Ow! What was that for?"

"For lying to my parents!" she laughed, though.

He smirked, "Oh? Did you want me to tell them I wasn't taking the damn couch?"

"Do you honestly believe that they believed you did?"

Austin laughed, "Not at all, but it sounded good. You're right, you probably should get home; but I'll see you Tuesday after practice."

She smiled, then, "Yeah, I'll see you Tuesday."

And, she walked out the door.

He quickly pulled on some jean and threw on a jacket before heading back to the door. He then began counting down from three.

When he got to the number one, he heard a knock on his door.

"My car's not here." She said, smiling.

"I was wondering how long it would take you to remember that." Austin said, smirking as he held up his keys and closed the door behind them.

When they finally pulled up to the house, Kaylie's car was fortunately still parked where she had left it, and Austin got out and followed her over to it.

They shared another kiss and she opened her door.

"You're sure you're okay to drive?"

She smiled and nodded, "Yeah, I am. The real question is, am I okay to go face my parents."

He quirked an eyebrow and she laughed, "To which, that answer is I have to be."

"You're sure you don't want me to come with you?"

She shook her head, "I got this one, thank you though. And, you might just do more harm than good."

He nodded, laughing, and kissing her again. "See you Tuesday, right?" he asked then, smiling.

Kaylie smiled too, nodding, "Yeah, see you Tuesday."

And that basically wraps up this story. I did, however, promise AllieCat103 that I would do a Sasha/Summer fic; so that will come up as soon as I can manage it! I'm also thinking about possible Kaylie/Austin one-shots; but I'm currently working on some other projects, so I make no promises when.

Thank you to all who read/followed/favorite/reviewed/PM'd me about this story! I really do appreciate all of you and your support and hopefully I'll write for another category that you like and you can like that story!
