Wednesday 10th October
It was Dolph and AJ's day off today, and what better way to spend that day than with each other? They were both staying at his Phoenix home, enjoying a list of activities with together that made them bond and feel relaxed. Today alone, they had watched comedies, cooked meals and of course, their seemingly most favourite thing to do, spend the night in bed. That's where the two lovers were right now, with Dolph's arms enveloped around her petite frame and AJ's head placed perfectly on his chest. These two were happy, and it showed. Being alone together in Phoenix felt like they were free and not Vickie, Punk or anyone could ruin their tender moments.
"This is nice," She rasped against his chest, while her right hand was gliding up and down his abs. She had infinite admiration for every aspect of his body, particularly his torso. "I really like being with you like this. It's romantic. Peaceful." She continued.
Dolph smiled down at her and started to tangle his fingers through her hair. He loved the way her brunette locks felt so damn soft, and how it smelled like a mix between strawberries and coconut. It was safe to say that playing with AJ's hair had become his newest obsession. "I know what you mean AJ. Being like this with you makes me wonder why we were against each other for so long. I can't even imagine being mad with you anymore." He admitted.
AJ looked up to smile at him, then, she pressed her lips to his chest, leaving a few velvety kisses. "I know, we were such idiots. But that's all in the past now."
"You're right babe. It's all in the past. By the way, is it okay for me to call you babe, or do you still not want me to call it you?" He questioned her.
AJ giggled, and shifted herself so she was now hovering over his body, straddling him. "You can call me babe, babe. I know I made a fuss over it the other night, but I actually like hearing you call me that." She said with her voice being barely more than a whisper. She lowered her head down to his neck to leave a trail of soft kisses there, which elicited a small growl from Dolph's throat.
AJ suddenly stopped herself and moved her face back up closer to Dolph's. "I know we can't really say anything right now, but I do wish we didn't have to be so secretive about what's going on between me and you. I know this is all new and no-one needs to know, but it sucks that we can't go out together or do anything like normal people who are seeing each other would. You know what I mean?"
Dolph tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear so he could see her face better, and then slid his hand down to her waist and pulled her closer to his body. "Of course I know what you mean. I honestly want to take you out on a date in a fancy restaurant and show you off, but… unfortunately we can't do that. It sucks AJ, but that's the way things are. Our special little thing between us is complicated, but we care about each other so we'll make it work." He stated, staring deep into her brown orbs as if he was staring into her soul.
AJ nodded, accepting the small declaration he just made. She threaded her nimble fingers into his soft, blonde curls. Unlike most people, AJ liked it when Dolph's hair went curly. She found his natural hair type so cute and sweet, and she loved the way it felt when it was natural without any products in it. Focusing on massaging his head, AJ let out a sigh without realising and Dolph immediately caught on it.
"Something's bothering you babe, what is it?" He asked.
"What? Oh, nothing's really bothering me. I'm just wondering where this is all going. Are we just going to carry on ending up in bed together or is it going to turn into something more between us? And by the way, don't think I'm complaining about the sleeping together part, because I'm not. You're really, really good in that department."
Dolph snickered at her little compliment, but then went deadly serious as she had brought up a topic of conversation he had been wanting to go over for a while now. "I'm kinda glad that you brought that up AJ, because I've been thinking about it too. Look, we're both enjoying doing whatever we're doing right now, right? We're having fun being together and I think that's how every intimate relationship should start out. If we take things slow like how we're doing and just get to know each other, then we can go on an official romantic date and I can ask you to be my girlfriend properly."
"You've just told me you're going to ask me to be your girlfriend, why not ask me now? You know I'm going to say yes." She told him, practically fighting to hold back the glee that came from knowing he wanted to be in a proper relationship with her.
"Because, look at what we're doing right now. We're laid in bed together, pretty much naked apart from being in our underwear and it's obvious what we're going to spend the next few hours doing."
"Playing board games?" She asked cheekily which managed to generate a laugh from him.
"No, not board games, babe. What I mean is, I want to ask you out somewhere truly romantic where you can remember the moment that we got together. Not in bed right before we're about to have sex. It might sound stupid to you, but I can be a total hopeless romantic when I want to be."
She beamed at him, appreciating the fact that she gets to witness this side of him. A side that not many people will get to see. She adored how he was a romantic man, and it only made her heart swell with affection for him even more. "It's not stupid at all, and I think you're amazing for wanting to be that sweet to me."
AJ switched from being adoring to being lustful in a split second. A playful smirk graced her face and she moved her hand down to his boxers and hooked her finger inside the material. "So erm, what did you say about us both still being in underwear? Maybe we should change that..."
Monday 15th October
AJ had placed Dolph in a handicap match with David Otunga against Ryback. He obviously didn't want to go up against the one man wrecking machine, but it wasn't like he could get mad at AJ for doing her job. Besides, as far as the fans knew, him and AJ hated each other so it would be logical for her to put him in bad situations. She had even explained to him before the match started that she would probably do something like that to him tonight.
Dolph and Vickie were now walking back into the locker room after Dolph had run away from Ryback. He was an intelligent man, he knew that even despite how gifted he was in the ring, beating Ryback tonight would have taken a miracle, so he took his exit and left his tag partner high and dry instead. It was the smart thing to do.
While Dolph was unravelling the tape from around his wrists, he heard Vickie laughing to herself from the other side of the room. He couldn't deny it to himself for much longer, Vickie really got on his nerves. Her screeching voice sent shivers down his spine and he almost hated her as much as the WWE universe did, but he knew that keeping her around was probably for the best right now. Even though he may not be in the ideal position he wanted to be in the company at the moment, Vickie had done a lot for him in his career, and he owed so much of it to her. Some day he would get rid of Vickie for good, and hopefully, if AJ wanted to, she could be his manager instead. Ever since his romance started with the geek goddess, he'd hoped that maybe she could be by his side one day.
"What's so funny Vick?" he enquired, now looking at her to see that she was laughing at something on her phone.
"You'll find out soon enough Dolph. Hey, do you know anything about AJ having a boyfriend?"
Dolph was floored. Why would she bring that up? Maybe she knew about their little affair, and this was the part where Vickie layed into him about betraying her. He'd imagine that she would say something like that anyway. Ms. Guerrero was a woman who rarely got physically vicious, but that didn't change the fact that she scared Dolph immensely. He wasn't sure how to react to her random question of AJ and her boyfriend. He decided to act calm about the whole thing, like he didn't have a clue. "Boyfriend? No, I didn't know AJ had a boyfriend. It's not like I pay attention to anything she does. Why do you ask Vick?"
Vickie lets out a mischievous cackle that chills Dolph to his core. He hated that cackle, and that was an understatement. "Well, I don't know if she does have a boyfriend, but I know she's doing something with a superstar within the company. Little Miss AJ Lee has been up to no good." She answered, bursting into a fit of laughter yet again.
Dolph was fearful for what his manager was going to do next. Surely she must know about him and AJ. Maybe Punk had said something to her, because AJ told him of Punk's suspicions. This was horrible, he didn't want for Vickie to find out about their relationship in this way, he wanted to be the one to tell her himself. All he could do now is go along with it.
"How do you know that she's with someone?"
"You know me Dolph, I have my resources."
Resources? What could she possibly mean by that? If he wasn't scared of what Vickie was up to before, he certainly was now. "Come on Vick, you've been my friend and confidante for such a long time now, you can tell me what you mean by that." He begged.
A creepy smile appeared on Vickie's lips and she went over to her bag and pulled out a CD case. "A CD? Thanks, but I don't really want to listen to music right now." He joked. Vickie rolled her eyes and then handed him the case. He opened it up to see the words 'cctv footage' written on the disc.
"In your hands is evidence that AJ Lee has been having an inappropriate relationship with one of her superstars. I am going to send that to the board of directors, and hopefully they will fire that pathetic excuse for a woman seeing as she is already on probation." Vickie verbalised for Dolph to finally understand how she knows about AJ.
"I uh… I don't know what to say." Dolph was becoming increasingly afraid of what was going to happen next. Not only does Vickie know that something's been going on, but she's using this as a way to get the woman he cares so strongly about fired. As well as this, his own career could be in serious jeopardy. What if he gets fired for being with AJ too? His world was starting to crumble around him, and all he could do was stare at the disc in his hands wanting to break it into a million pieces.
"I know what to say, this is brilliant! Don't you realise what this means Dolph? AJ will finally be out of our lives for good! She can go home and cry on her sofa with her little Chihuahua and new boyfriend. I would hate to be that little pipsqueak right about now." Vickie responded enthusiastically. She was evidently having a field day with all of this.
Dolph looked up at her, quizzical as to why she seems to joyful right now. Does she know that he is the one that AJ's been seeing? She certainly doesn't care if she does know, which is shocking to him. "So wait, what exactly is on this?" He asked her.
Vickie outstretched her arm and snatched the footage back from his grasp. "On this dvd there is video evidence of AJ going into another man's hotel room after hours. Also, there is some more footage from a different camera angle of the man AJ has been with. Oh, I just can't wait to show this to the board! They're going to be so impressed with me. Hey, they might even make me the general manager after AJ!" She gleefully replied, clapping her hands together in excitement.
Dolph's heart sank after she said there was footage of the man on here too. This had to mean he was busted too, right? There was something about the way that Vickie was acting that wasn't settling right with him however. He was so positive that she would throw a fit of some kind upon finding out about his and AJ's relationship, but so far, nothing.
"So there's footage of the guy she's been with on here too. Who is it then Vick?" Dolph asked her, wondering if she did actually know he was AJ's lover.
He braced himself for hearing Vickie utter his name in response. "John Cena. That's who AJ has been fraternising with."
That wasn't the name Dolph expected, or wanted to hear.
