A/N: Man this one of those chapters that didn't' want to be written... a combination of just a good chunk of it I kind of didn't want to write and One Piece Unlimited World Red for the 3DS... man it's addictive...
Chapter 10: Galley-La
In the HQ of the enemy, the mysterious leader wanted to talk to Karen, Doug and Sara.
"Is this about my punishment?" asked Sara.
"No…" said the mysterious leader, "I sense there is another group after the Silver Crystal. I want you to verse the Princess' reincarnation but not do anything until we know who it is and why they want it."
The three nodded and bowed to their mysterious leader.
Meanwhile at Water 7, VesVes whistled what looked like a wild bull appeared (it was wild as it seem it didn't have a saddle).
"Do you think you carry us?" asked VesVes.
The Bull nodded.
"Can I ride with you?" CereCere asked Robin as she had a spare seat.
PallaPalla, VesVes and JunJun all got onto the back of the wild bull and they showed the way to the Water Elevator.
Some of the attends were a little concerned about the three reading with out a saddle, but they didn't anything as they had a bit of a reputation in town.
When they got up they saw the crowd around Galley-La.
"What's going on there?" asked Luffy.
"Our biggest commotion…" said JunJun.
"What?" asked Luffy.
"It's the shipwright, they tend to get into fight with pirates who stiff them for the bill." Explained VesVes.
"A lot people come to watch it…" said JunJun.
"We should really exchange the treasure." Said first.
"Say where did you even get a massive amount of treasure anyways?" asked PallaPalla.
"You don't want to know…" sighed Nami.
"Highly illegal?" asked VesVes.
"No… highly embarrassing." Mumbled Nami.
This made the four sweat drop.
They got to the Currency Exchange where they were quickly sent to the VIP Room.
The exchanger was in shock.
"100 Million!" yelled everyone in the room.
"Quiet!" said the Exchanger.
He examined the treasure, "The quality of gold plus the historical value, that's my assessment."
That was when Nami slammed her leg on the table.
"I don't with assent." Said Nami.
"What?" asked the exchanger.
"These two have bounties." Said Nami pointing opt Robin and Luffy, "And his is over 100 million… so what do you say now?"
Turns out he was lying, it was 300 million.
"Oh wow I can't believe how money we have!" said Luffy swinging around one of the brief cases.
That was when he accidently let out and it flew towards the canal. Nami and Usopp jumped towards the briefcase however Luffy grabbed it before it felt causing Nami and Usopp to fall in.
"How did you stretch like that?" asked PallaPalla.
"Isn't it obvious, he ate a Devil Fruit." Said JunJun.
"Oh yeah…" laughed PallaPalla.
"I think I should carry your brief case." Said Robin.
They headed back to Galley-La to find the crowd had cleared up.
They headed towards it and Luffy tried to entire through the fence that was when a man with a long nose and looked kind of like Usopp stopped him… except his nose was square.
Only authorized personal." Said the Usopp look alike, "So what is you business at the dock?"
"Usopp?" asked Luffy.
"I'm right here!" yelled Usopp.
"So why are you here?" asked the Usopp look-alike.
"We're here to see Mr. Iceberg." Said Nami she gave him the letter.
"Oh an instructor letter from Ms. Kokoro at Shift Station." Said the Usopp look-alike.
"Are you middle aged?" asked Luffy.
"I am but 23." Said the Usopp look alike, "I may look my age, but these girls claim to be much older than they look."
The four girls all glared at him.
"So what are you girls doing with them?" asked the look-alike.
"Oh we decided to help them out as tour guides today." Said CereCere.
"That's a good idea to get those trouble makers occupied." Said the Usopp look-alike.
"JunJun and VesVes are well known trouble makers." PallaPalla explained to the Straw Hats.
"We heard that!" yelled JunJun and VesVes.
"So do you know Mr. Iceberg?" asked Nami getting the topic back to Iceberg.
"Of course I do." Said the Usopp Look-alike, "Why he's the mayor of Water 7. And he control the Sea Train. So everyone in town knows him. But he's a very busy man… But you're here to discus ship repairs… right?"
He began to do stretches.
"Where did you dock?" he asked.
"Oh at the rocky cape." Said Nami.
"I'll be there in shakes of a lamb's tail." Said Kaku.
That was when he ran towards a wall and jumped off. It should be noted said wall dropped off hundreds of feet.
"He fell!" yelled Usopp.
"Don't worry he's known for running around town like that, they call him the Mountain Wind." said a man.
"All of the foremen have weird quirks." Said VesVes, "He runs around the city like that, one of them has no indoor voice, another talks through a pigeon, one has hair that makes no sense and last owes us money."
"That's so cool." Said Luffy.
"Wait what was that last one…" said Nami.
"So Paulie hasn't paired you back yet?" sighed the man.
"No…" muttered JunJun.
"Do I want to know…" said Nami.
"No… you don't…" said CereCere, "By the way let me introduce you to Iceberg."
"Nice to meet you, I'm the boss of this town. And this a mouse I just picked up." Said Iceberg, he turned to woman that was with him, "By the way Kalifa I'll need a cage and some rodent food."
"Already done sir." Said the woman named Kalifa.
"I mused commend you." Said Iceberg.
Kalifa began to list off of all the appointments he had today.
"I don't wanna!" he suddenly yelled childishly.
"All al right I'll cancel them then." Said Kalifa.
"Van you do that?" asked Usopp.
"Oh yeah… he can…" said VesVes.
"He cancels his appointment all the time for study reasons…" said JunJun.
"So I heard you tell Kaku that you're showing them around…" said Iceberg.
"How do you know Iceberg?" asked Luffy, "I thought you were just street performers…"
"They were found about a year ago after Aqua Laguna." Said Iceberg, "Having four girls suddenly washed ashore without a scratch on them would be something I look into…"
"You have to tell us all about that." Said Luffy.
"Another time…" said CereCere.
"You're a real failure of a mayor…" said Usopp.
VesVes covered his mouth.
"He didn't mean that Kalifa! Really!" said VesVes.
"Good…" said Kalifa adjusting her glasses.
"What was that for?" asked Usopp.
"She's got a strong kick, bad aim and is overly protective of Iceberg, don't say anything more." Said VesVes.
"I don't have bad aim!" said Kalifa blushing.
"Yeah do you do…" said Iceberg.
"Oh yeah, I was supposed to give you this." Said Nami.
She gave him the letter, he looked it over which was a simple "Fix their ship for them" and had a kiss mark.
He immediately tore up the letter.
"Kaku already want." Said CereCere, "You're not going to help them?"
"Actually the kiss mark was creepy." Said Iceberg, "Like she said Kaku already went over so the process is already underway."
Iceberg began to pick his nose.
"I'm bored, how about I show you guys around…" said Iceberg.
"He's quite the colorful man." Laughed Robin.
"You have no idea." Said Kalifa.
That was when Iceberg finally noticed Robin, his eyes narrowed a little.
"Man you pick the weirdest people to show around…" mumbled Iceberg.
"Oh right, I left the money over there." Said Usopp.
"You left your brief case in there?" asked CereCere.
"That's really stupid." Said PallaPalla.
That was when he saw a bunch of men wearing weird black outfits, going though the brief case.
"Look at all this money!" said one of them.
"Crap they saw us!" said another.
That was when they fled with Usopp's brief cases.
"The Franky Family." Said Iceberg.
"Don't worry we'll get it back." Said VesVes.
"Those guys owe us!" said JunJun.
"They owe you… when did that happen…" said Iceberg.
"We paid them back with a lot of Bounties and turns out to the extent that they owe us a few favors…" said JunJun.
"Come on don't explain their getting away!" said VesVes.
However before they could leave one of the Foremen of Galley-La ended up on a bridge above them and hijacked their bulls in order to escape from his debt collectors.
"Figures that Paulie would do that..." Said VesVes.
"Every one here is insane…" sighed JunJun.
"Hey can you give us our Money?" asked Usopp.
The foreman named however Paulie decided to escape with the money.
"Paulie get back here right now!" yelled JunJun.
"Oh… it's you two…" said Paulie who looked like he just swallowed a lemon.
"I take that's the guy who owes you money…" said Nami.
"I told them to stop making bets with him…" said CereCere.
"We did, he just hasn't paid anything back yet..." Said JunJun.
Paulie made it back.
"Look the only reason why I came back is because it's embarrassing that I'm in debt with a couple of 12 year olds…" muttered Paulie.
"We're late bloomers!" yelled VesVes.
"Give them back their money…" said JunJun.
That was when another foreman showed up, he had long black hair, a weird beard and a pidgin on his shoulder.
"It's quite pathetic that you owe them money." Said the pigeon.
"You mention that he talks through the pigeon." Said Luffy
"Yep this is Rob Lucci and his pigeon Hattori." Said PallaPalla.
"How does he do that?" asked Luffy.
"Ventriloquism..." Answered PallaPalla.
"Oh you already ruined it?" asked Lucci through Hattori, "Weren't you in the circus before you got here? Don't you know not to reveal secrets?"
"That's a magician." Said PallaPalla with a sweat drop.
"I thought that was clowns." Said Lucci thorough Hattori.
"Just because we were once part of a circus doesn't mean we were clowns." Said CereCere blushing a little.
"Those girls are too evil to be clowns." Said Paulie.
"You're the one who doesn't pay their debt to a group of orphaned teenaged girls who often struggle to make ends meet." Said Lucci through Hattori.
"Is he trying to start a fight?" asked Nami.
"I think he's bored…" said VesVes.
"Maybe we should ignore them." Said PallaPalla.
"Good idea, they do fight all the time…" said Iceberg picking his nose.
"Are you sure that's a good idea?" asked Kalifa.
"If we don't acknowledge maybe it will get better." Said Iceberg.
"Is he treating us like children?": asked Paulie.
"I believe he is…" sighed Lucci through Hattori.
That was when Paulie noticed Kalifa and Nami's short skirts.
"How dare you wear those indecent clothes here! This is a man's work place!" yelled Paulie.
"It's time like these that I question what happened to humanity…" said CereCere with a sweat drop.
"I don't know there were weirdoes in the past…" said PallaPalla.
"What's that supposed to mean!" yelled Paulie.
"These shipwrights are weird." Laughed Luffy.
"They may be weird, but they're the best when it comes to building ships." Said Iceberg.
Paulie and Lucci opened the door to the factory, the crew stood in awe as a large ship being built.
Nami, Luffy, Robin and three of the girls followed Iceberg while Usopp went to look around on his own, with JunJun following him just case the Franky Family tries something again.
During that time Kalifa explained the story of Galley-La and that gave Luffy the idea to ask him to be the shipwright… he of course declined but said if anyone of the Shipwrights there would accept he wouldn't stop them.
Meanwhile with Usopp was exploring on his own when he saw a cannon that caught his eye.
"Oh wow is that Copper?" asked Usopp.
However the members of the Franky family tried to attack Usopp from behind.
Usopp turned around and saw JunJun beating them up.
"What's going on?" asked Usopp.
"He's with me." Said JunJun.
"What seriously?" asked one of the members.
"Do you just want their money?" asked another member.
"It's no like that." Said JunJun.
She then whispered to them.
"They know something about our past... okay…" she whispered.
"Oh right! That woman you've been looking for is on that crew." Said one of the members.
"How do you know that?" asked JunJun.
"Well we ended up fighting a woman matching her desertion back on the Straw Hats ship." Said a second.
"Don't worry were planning to tell you anyways." Said a third.
"Good." Said JunJun, "So don't steal their money… you owe us big time."
"Okay JunJun, we'll leave them be." Said one of the members.
They all fled.
"Geez…" muttered JunJun, "For a pirate your not very perceptive."
"What was that about…" said Usopp.
"Oh for the past few months we've pretty much taken over bounty hunting for them…" said JunJun, "They're still able to do a lot of their jobs but lately they can't seem to handle the big ones with out us…"
"I see…" said Usopp with a sweat drop.
That was when they both noticed Usopp look alike (who was apparently named Kaku) jumping over them.
"Well Kaku's back." Said JunJun.
"All right! Now I can hear how much it will take to fix Merry." Said Usopp hugging the brief case.
The two of them headed to where Kaku landed.
The three briefcases were placed down.
"So how much will it take, we have a lot of money." Said Luffy.
"If it's not too much, I'd like some new cannons." Said Usopp.
"And I'd like to redecorate the rooms." Said Nami.
"Perhaps new bookshelf's." Said Robin.
Luffy turned to the four girls.
"Well…" said Luffy.
"We haven't officially joined yet." Said CereCere with a sweat drop.
Kaku sighed, "The battle damage was too great, you must have been on quite a journey."
"We have. We've had many attacks, got screaked, eaten" Bragged Usopp, "We even went to sky island… both getting there and back was hard on her"
"Oh please that is such a lie." Said VesVes.
"No it's actually true." Said Robin.
"You have to be kidding…" said CereCere.
"Just when you think you know everything…" said JunJun.
"I was just getting used to Fishman Island…" mumbled PallaPalla.
"So how long I it going to take?" asked Usopp.
"The thing is that we can't fix her." Said Kaku, "Even with our skills the damage is too great. Even if we repair her, the chances of getting to the next island is zero…"
A silence filled the air as the pirates heard everything he said.
But the sad truth is… he really was telling the truth.
The Merry would not be able to sail again…
Next Time: Luffy's having problems controlling the Crystal. It's currently not that much of a problem but after what he did this time. On the bright side what happens will help Usopp cope. Meanwhile The four girls meet Setsuna... does she know why they were asleep for thousands of years or will she be stumped? Find out next time!
