Just re-read my story and I'm still surprised someone took "Give Magikarp some love!" seriously.

She felt the knot in her stomach tighten when she saw the village. Everyone had come down from the tree branches, climbed out of their burrows, and taken breaks from their chores to see the elders decide her fate. All three were waiting for her at the base of the Great Rock, where most public affairs regarding the clan were handled. The looks of disappointment and pity alone reopened deep wounds which she'd tried so hard to forget. Her grip on her wounded arm tightened and she refused to make eye contact with the clan.

Elder Gwandoya was the first to speak. "You couldn't complete the simplest of tasks." His statement, the amount of disappointment that had come out of his mouth, hurt. She knew her failure reflected upon him as well, since he was one of the few that gave her a chance despite the prejudice.

And even though she knew she was only making things worse for herself, she felt the need to explain herself. "W-Wait, I almost had it! It was just that one of those campers got in my way and scared the Gyrados away! I would've gotten a scale-"

"But you didn't!" Her constant bully interrupted. "Look at yourself; you're covered in cuts and bruises! You were too weak to fight it, weren't you, Gloria? It was a newly evolved Gyrados three times smaller than the average, and you were too weak to fight it!"

"That is enough, Patrick." Elder Reuben hissed, but the boy ignored him and kept laughing through his accusations. Gloria wanted to shout of to yell but she remained silent as the young Treecko was taken away by his mother. She couldn't help but let his words sink in as the elders continued their meeting on her future.

How many times had she been told that? Her entire life, she was constantly reminded of her inability to fight. Her siblings and her trainer and now, after years of hardship and endless hours of practice, that fact had come back to bite her.

It was Elder Dayo who gave her her sentence. "You will leave the clan at dawn tomorrow." The words felt like daggers on her skin and she could see all those years getting thrown out the door, but Gloria only nodded with her gaze still on the ground. She tried her best not to let the tears fall. Not yet. "Should one of our patrols see you within our territory, they have our permission to defend as they see fit. Until then, pack your things."

"Yes ma'am," Gloria wanted to at least keep a bit of her dignity in this shameful banishment, but her voice cracked. She heard a few snickers from the Treecko as the crowd dispersed, returning to their daily lives and erasing her memory from their minds. There was no need to remember an exiled member. Soon it was just Gloria and Gwandoya, whom looked down at her with pity.

"May Arceus look favorably upon you."

"Thank you, sir."

With a few well-placed vine whips, Will was taken down from the skies and slammed into the earth. On contact he returned to his human form but he didn't get up. He looked like he was trying his best not to cry out in pain. The Snivy he had battled din't comment on that, at least to save him some dignity.

"Haha, nice try..." She smirked and offered a hand. Her loopy smile turned sheepish and she scratched the back of her head with her free hand. "Sorry, what's your name again?"

"Just forget it." Will growled, getting up on his own. Honestly, he had a bit of trouble doing that. He stomped off to his cabin again, muttering under his breath. He didn't even want to get dragged into this stupid battle anyway.

At lunch everyone felt very awkward. Team Lugia was very much on edge. They kept their heads down and tried to avoid the stares Team Victini were giving them. Some shot angry glares at the Red Team, which were returned with devilish smirks. Considering the fact that Team Mew was between the aggressive teams they felt incredibly uncomfortable. Well, most of them. Joan didn't seem to worry too much. she was enjoying dinner. Andrew didn't see how she could do that with the elephant in the room.

"...Does anybody know what's got them in a bunch?" He asked quietly. He was still uncomfortable with women but Azura said Joan and Layla were fine so he really didn't have any other choice. He didn't want to ruin a perfectly good friendship.

"Can I have that chicken leg?" He moved his plate next to the girl's. He didn't feel like eating right then. She happily accepted the second helping. "Thanks!" Azura answered his question.

"Apparently the Reds think they're the dominant team in camp. The Blues let that get under their skins and they challenged the Reds to that battle earlier." The two teams had chosen Will and Erica since they were considered the strongest. Will because he passed Wile's test and Erica because, well, she's Erica. It'd be stupid not to pick a fighter like her. "So now the Reds think they're the best around and nothing's ever gonna keep 'em down."

"Wow," Andrew muttered, "Talk about inflated egos."

"And things have gotten worse." Joan paused from her eating to participate in the gossip. "You know Chris from B2? He and a few of his friends started to randomly attack members of the Red Team. They got pretty beat up, but bruises on HTPs heal relatively quickly. So far I'm the only eye witness but I'm not gonna say anything again. He lives just a few blocks away from my house back in Anville Town."

She carefully glanced over her shoulder to look at the brunet. He was absentmindedly laughing at a joke one of his friends made while glaring intently at one of his victims. The boy gulped when his brown eyes met green and he walked right past a counselor and to the napkins. Joan allowed herself to breathe again. It didn't seem like he'd heard. Good thing too, since she didn't want to relive the experience.

"I heard both teams just think we're wussies, no actual threats." She added with a laugh, "Think I should start my own gang?"

"For Arceus' sake, don't turn this into gang warfare!" Jordan hissed. He'd finally decided to participate in the conversation. "Everyone's already uneasy; don't make thing's worse!" Joan held up her hands in mock defense.

"And yet those three are just peachy." Layla quietly pointed out, so as not to feel left out. She directed them to the end of their table with her dark blue eyes. The Odd Squad were eating like starving Murkrow. Piles of food filled their plates and there seemed to be no end in sight to their eating and good-humored roughhousing. They were each on different teams but they seemed closer than ever.

"I hope everyone calms down soon." She added, "How are we supposed to keep the peace if we can't even share an island together?"

"That depends on the counselors." Azura stated, glancing around at the various adults. From what she saw they did notice the looks thrown between the opposing teams, but they seemed to pass it off as a new rivalry. It was only a matter of time before things got ugly, so she hoped they'd figure things out soon.

They started their challenge a bit after lunch. It was really a very simple lap around the island's shores with counselors constantly attacking them at all angles. First team back wins, but they can only use their powers one time for a period of 60 seconds. At that point most campers knew how to revert back to their humans forms without waiting for the effects of the Star Candies to run out, so it was the perfect time to do an exercise they'd planned to do days ago.

To make things harder, only one camper per group would be allowed to do this and fifteen points would be deducted from their overall score if they did this. The idea was to get them to stop overly depending on their Pokemon forms. Thanks to their genes, they were capable enough already.

The challenge meant hell for a lot of kids that were low on stamina (or just out of shape), and a long run for the more athletic kids. They were supposed to stay in a group and help each other out. Luckily for them peer pressure can do marvelous things.

Team Mew was doing a pretty good job keeping up with the unbearably athletic Red Team, and they were a good distance from the Blue Team too. As much as they'd like it, the plan they'd all agreed to was to get second place at the very least. That way they'd bring up their 44 points to 144, which was a pretty good avoiding the counselors' attacks wasn't all too hard until one of them used Wild Charge and split them up.

Six of the campers reverted to panic mode when a Dudrio came after them. They ended up in the trees, confused but sane enough to stay together. They'd seen what happened when you drift from your group.

Jordan, who was in the front of this particular group, grabbed a few pebbles quickly climbed a tree. The others didn't want to take the chance of missing a branch so they kept running. Just a few seconds behind them was the hydra-like bird, who was laughing his three heads off. With good aim and luck, since the counselor was running so fast, he managed to hit two of the three heads.

The third head to the right stopped and glared at him. "Seriously?" The tall boy smirked as he watched his teammates escape from the greenery and reunite with the rest. He felt a bit of pride for that move.

All the way in the back was the Blue Team, save two of its campers. Luke and Lucio had managed to fight their way to the front lines, but the Red Team had them surrounded. The two of them were skillfully avoiding tackles and attempts to block them out. They seemed to be racing each other, but Luke was getting too far up for Lucio's liking.

"Haha!" He he jeered in a playful manner, "C'mon Lucy! You're way too slow!" On the contrary, Lucio was going at a just barely average speed thanks to his genetics, since he wasn't the type physical sport, but Luke had the upper hand in experience. Growing up with his three athletic brothers had its perks.

Lucio let that get to him. He really wasn't as physical as his friend, which annoyed him, and would mean that Luke won again. After a shove from one of the Red Team campers that almost sent him into the sea, he considered switching into his Pokemon form. Yes, it would lower the team's score by a few points but the winning team got one hundred-fifty so they should still be in the lead. Plus, he was tired of being in Luke's shadow time and time again.

Nobody remembered him when they saved Layla's Purrloin after that attention stunt the other day (really, it should've known going up a tree was a bad idea). Or maybe when Archie lost his chew toy and rampaged- he'd found it in a hole and Luke got the credit. He wasn't even there that time! His father was right; he was too much of a pushover. Well, not anymore! He was gonna be the hero this time!

Lucio furrowed her brows and started to breathe harder. An all too familiar white aura started to form around him and the RT backed off immediately. Luke noticed the team slowing down and turned to see what was going on. To his surprise he saw Lucio in his Pokemon form, charging straight for him! "Lucio!" He shouted, barely grabbing onto his friend's horns so as to not get left in the dust. He held tight as he was thrashed about and dragged through the sand. "What the hell are you doing?!"

"I want to win for once!" Lucio growled. A counselor popped out of the ground as a Squirtle and sprayed him in the face, then splattered sand to it, making the Tauros unable to see. He was freaking out and started running faster.

"Stop! Stopstopstop- oh crap!" Lucio suddenly bucked under him and sent he and his head flying into the mouth- or more accurately beak- of a Peliper. The Pokemon spit him out and he fell into the sea. "We can't win with you like this, Lucio! Go back to normal!" He screamed just as Lucio passed him.

The boy ignored him and raced around the bend. The Red Team snickered at Luke's misfortune as they jogged by. Luke crawled out of the cold water shivering and waited for the rest of his team to catch up.

The Boss clapped his hands and Archie barked. The man wore a broad smile when Lucio arrived into the camp grounds. "Congratulations, Lucio, you're the first person to reach the end!" Lucio reverted back to his human form and puffed his chest out with pride. Although his feet felt like pudding it was worth it. Finally he was victorious!

"And he was a Tauros for three minutes and thirty-two seconds!" A Vulpix announced as she jumped back down to earth from the back of a Staraptor. After thanking the counselor and returning to her human form, Wendy looked at her camper with disapproval in her brown eyes. "He went way over the time limit we set while willingly attacking his friend."

Right on cue Team Victini arrived to camp cheering. They high-fived each other and patted themselves on the back. "Congratulations, Team Victini, for your impressive win!" Carter announced. This time his loyal companion howled and wagged its tail.

"All of you are here!" the fire type yipped, "You just got one hundred and fifty points!" The campers roared in celebration for their victory and Lucio opened his mouth to interrupt their celebration, but the head female counselor for his team beat him to the punch.

"Don't you remember when we explained the rules?" She questioned. Lucio was silent with an embarrassed blush for good measure. To tell the truth, he hadn't listened to the directions. He was kind of busy watching Luke getting attention for the wild Pokemon he'd sketched. Wendy sighed and explained it once more. "Your entire team needs to make it, not just you. And... there they are."

Lucio glance back. The Red Team had gone to the already and the White Team arrived close behind, so he was left to see Luke leading his team into camp. He looked pretty banged up and cold and wet. His palms were bleeding and every step made him wince in pain, and even with Sef and Will trying to hold him steady he looked like he would collapse from exhaustion at any time.

He gulped when his injured friend asked his supporters to stop so he could look him dead in the eye. "You happy, Lucio?"

"I-I didn't mean-" Lucio was at a loss of words. He did that to him. He did this to one of his first friends. "I-I'm so sorry, Luke. I don't know what got into me-"

"Save it." Luke snapped, "I just hope you're satisfied. Congratulations on your win." Lucio didn't go after him, though he'd like to. He knew his friend was angry at him, and rightfully so, but maybe if he'd explained himself Luke would be a bit more lenient? But at the moment Wile and Heath were looking down at him.

"You were in you Pokemon form for three minutes and thirty seconds?" Wile questioned. He'd just come back from his location near the shores, and the news he'd received wasn't something he liked. Lucio nodded nervously, fully aware of his counselor's reputation as a ticking bomb. To his surprise the man only shook his head. "We would've gotten fifty points if you hadn't done that." With that statement he left them.

"Well that was odd." Wendy commented, tilting her head. "Normally he's so competitive..." Lucio payed no heed to her words and stared at the back of the suited counselor as he spoke with hie employer. He did something seriously wrong, if Wile wouldn't even work up the energy to shout at him. Wendy noticed this. "I think he's disappointed in you because you're not learning anything if you depend on your powers. You know, maybe they won't always be there."

"What?" Lucio snapped back to reality at that comment. He stared at the woman with absolute fear in his eyes. Did she say what he actually thought she'd said?

"Hm? I said 'I can see your underwear.'"

Elliot, like everyone else on her team, wasn't happy that they lost. She wasn't going to blame Lucio for it, since that wouldn't help anybody. So long he didn't do that anymore, she wouldn't hold a grudge. What she wasn't happy to see as she was heading to her cabin was a bully from the Red Team behind the Mess Hall. Any sensible person would dislike bullying, and even if she tended to be a bit childish she knew when to take things seriously.

She didn't know the victim but she knew his attacker. It was Chris. There had been rumors going around that he was a bully but she'd denied them, wanting to believe in human dignity. Apparently Chris didn't know the meaning of that.

"Hey Chris!" She shouted, surprising him just in time before he landed a punch on the boy. He turned with his eyes wide in surprise and fear for getting caught in the act, but when he saw the Skitty glaring at him he laughed. The kid she'd saved from a bad punch looked confused. "Leave him alone."

"And what're you gonna do-" The Skitty suddenly lunged for his stomach, which he easily avoided with a sidestep. The pink kitten didn't stop there. She focused energy toward her right paw, creating an orb. Chris smirked down at her when a green doll appeared next to her. He kicked it away and grabbed the Skitty by her tail, then slammed it against the tree so she had no means to escape. At that point his previous victim had been long gone, so it was just the two of them.

"Good job!" He giggled when Ellie tried to fight her way out of his iron grip. "I knew the Blue Team was pitiful but if kittens are all you guys' got..." Ellie gulped when she saw his fist pulling backwards. She closed her eyes in hopes of enduring it. Dang it, why didn't she just go and tell a counselor?

Suddenly she heard a voice shout, "Okay, first of all, that was low Chris. Even for you." and there was a loud "Oof!" and "Not the fire-" and next thing she knew she'd been let go and she hit the ground on her head. Ellie grinned at what she saw. Katlyn, Erica and Mystery had come to her rescue! It looked like Katelyn was the one who got Chris away from her, since the Lucario had soot all over his face. Erica quickly tied Chris up with the vines from her collar. The boy had a slim chance of escaping, and even if he managed to do so he'd meet nine tails coated with iron.

Mystery ran over and helped her onto her feet (she'd gone back to human form on impact). "You alright?"

"Yeah, thanks for your help." She said, smiling. It was a few seconds later that Carter and Mizzett came to assess the situation. They questioned both parties and had Chris untied. His sentence for attacking seven different campers? Mop duty for a week. Of course the girls objected to that, as did a few other campers who'd come to see what was going on, but Willaims' word was law. Chris, for one, was glad.

"He broke one of the camp rules, though!" Mystery argued once everyone had dispersed. It was just the two of them and the counselors, since Erica had gone to make sure Chris didn't try anything. "Didn't you say you'd take away our abilities if we used our powers against humanity, or for selfish reasons?"

"I'd hardly call several people humanity," The man replied, laughing a bit. Miz glanced at him but didn't speak. "I think he'll stop."

"T-That's not fair!" Katelyn stuttered, finally working up enough courage to make her opinion known. She always tried to see the good in people but she was worried what Chris would do next. She and her friends had made themselves targets. "People got black eyes because of him!"

"Time mends all wounds." The man shrugged. Before Mystery could make a retort to that comment, he held up his hand. "Now if you would excuse me, Mizzett and I have some important matters to discuss. Run along."

Mystery and Katelyn were left speechless when the man walked around them and headed to his office. Mizzett gave them an apologetic look before hurrying after him. "You alright, Mystery?" Katelyn asked. Her friend was shivering with rage but she was trying to hide it. That made her look like a ticking time bomb.

"No, Katelyn, I'm not okay." She growled and stomped her food onto the ground. "Any respect I had for that man has been thrown out the window."

While I was re-reading the story so far, I noticed that sometimes the paragraphs seemed unnecessarily blocky so I tried to separate them a bit. Maybe it's because I read in large font, but I wanted to avoid making your reading experience a challenge. Also, that awkward moment when you realize you haven't given credit to a reader for their OC even though you've been using her. "=_=l Oops. Elliot/ Ellie belongs to Buggiedude2340. Sorry, Buggie!

As for the Olympics, well played, Russia. Norway will win next time though.
