So not sure if any of you noticed but Grace's lyrics, or anything under lined, have been left out. It works fine on the document but when it goes up it's gone. I'm guess you guys were able to figure it out since none of you asked anything about that. I'll have to check it before I put it up. Sorry it's short and did anyone else enjoy seeing Leo shirtless in the last week's episode? Enjoy
Third Person P.O.V
At Rudy and Jack's house, Jack was washing the dishes while Rudy watched T.V. He was watching a documentary on sharks. With him was Phil, one of the workers at the Surf Shack
"Man you do not want to mess with those guys. Did you know I saw one?"
"Really?" Phil asked
"Yep, took half of my catch and ripped my net." Rudy had his own boat that brought in fish for the restaurant.
"Oh, very scary."
Jack finished with the dishes he walked over to the couch where he watched the sharks have a feeding frenzy. "How can you watch this stuff?" he asked, disgusted as he went to feed their fish.
The next day, wearing a long sleeve blue stripped shirt with the sleeves pushed up, jeans, a grey beanie and grey hightops, Jack closed his locker when Eddie ran up to him.
"Jack, guess what? I went surfing this morning and one of the lifeguards said that they saw a turtle laying its eggs."
"Cool. I didn't realise it was that time already."
"Yeah, but they said one of them got caught in a fishing net."
"Yikes. Think we should get the marina to have a meeting?"
"I can talk to them. I'll check you later."
"Later." Jack began to walk up the stairs to the second floor where Kim and Kelsey were talking about scuba diving. "Hey girls, just a heads up. Some boats are getting turtles tangled in their nets."
"Kinda hypocritical don't you think Jack?" Kelsey snapped. They had heard and Kelsey wasn't happy
"Huh?"
"Did you ever think that it was your dad's boat that is catching the turtles?"
"Rudy wouldn't do that." Jack snapped back.
Kim stepped in between them, "Guys, let's be civil. Jack, why don't you ask if any of the workers for Rudy's boat were making jokes or something? Maybe someone is using the boat without him knowing. Kels, let's go." Kim pushed Kelsey down the stairs.
As Jack watched them leave he thought, 'Rudy wouldn't really catch turtles, would he?'
That night, Jack decided to ask Rudy. When Rudy handed him a mug of green tea, he spouted out the question before he chickened out
"Rudy have you ever caught a sea turtle?"
Rudy gave him an odd look, "what kind of question is that?"
"Just curios. Have you ever caught a turtle in one of your fishing nets?"
"Jack, are you still worried about that turtle thing Eddie told us about? Look, since I'm not an expert, I do everything by the book. The nets have grids so if a turtle dose get caught, it's directed to an opening. Besides, we fish miles from the nesting area."
The next day, a fishing crew threw in a fishing net into the sea as it floated. In the water, all four girls swan when they stopped and saw a turtle caught in the net. Kelsey swam up to the boat, where at the edge, Phil, was cutting a piece of rope. A man from the deck called over to Phil.
"Phil, let's go. We have to get a move on." Phil put down the knife and rope and went to pull the fish up. Kelsey grabbed the knife and used it to cut the net before putting it back. The girls watched the boat pull up an empty net as the turtle swam away.
Later at the Surf Shack, Jack wiped the table when Jerry told him to turn up the TV. He did and listened to the report of a rogue shark.
"There was a strange occurrence with one of the boats today. Their net was ripped what they think is a rouge shark." Then Rudy came on, "there is only one thing that could cause a rip like that, that far out in sea. A rouge shark."
"Ouch, poor Rudy."
Milton sighed, "Sorry to have to tell you this Jack, but a shark didn't cut the net. I think the mermaids did."
"Wait, what? The mermaids, as in the ones that showed up at the party?"
"I talked to the orange one. Before I came here she told me that she and her friends cut the net and it was attached to Rudy's boat."
Jack couldn't believe what he was hearing. No way was Rudy catching turtles. But the witnesses lived in the ocean. No doubt they pointed it out to Milton. "Watch the restaurant for me." Jack said before heading out the door. He walked down to the pier were he walked on to Rudy's boat, The Wasabi Warriors. Rudy was coming up from the engine when he laid eyes on Jack, who was leaning against the open door.
"Hey, Jack. Haven't seen you here for ages. Did you see me on TV? How did I look?"
Jack shook his head as he spoke, "you don't really know what gets caught in your nets do you?"
"Is this about that turtle thing again?"
"Yes."
"Jack, look, we use the right nets and fish in the right places. It's the law."
"I'm really disappointed in you Rudy." With that, Jack walked off the boat passing the same man that was on the boat that morning. The man came down and looked surprised when he saw Rudy.
"Rudy, didn't know you were back."
"Kinda looks like I shouldn't go away."
"Sorry about losing half the catch."
"No problem. Ty," Rudy asked, finally revealing the man's name, "where's the old net?"
"Got rid of it. No need to keep a useless net."
Back at the Surf Shack, Milton just talked to Jack and told the girls what he found out.
"So Rudy denied everything? That's awful." Grace said
"Well what could he say? 'I know your lying because my mermaid girlfriend and her friends saw you fishing near the nesting beach.'?" Kim asked
"Well he was using illegal nets." Kelsey said, as Milton pulled over a chair. It was starting to cool down at the shack and he really wanted to get the whole story from the girls
"Illegal nets? Well this gets worse and worse. Rudy?"
"Well to be honest," Julie said, "we didn't see him, see him. Just his boat."
"Rudy has two. And a half if you count the one he uses to go fishing with Jack."
"But it was his boat. 'Wasabi Warriors', right on the side." Kelsey said
As the girls walked back to the hotel, they took the long way and passed the pier were men were sharpening hooks and other items.
"Great," Kelsey said when she realised what was going to happen, "everyone in this town is getting excited to catch that stupid shark."
"Shark?" the girls turned to see Ty, one of Rudy's workers, with a sharpened hook in his hands, "don't worry. If it's still out there, it's sushi."
The girls walked as fast as they could, getting away from the crazed look in Ty's eyes.
"What a circus," Julie said, "they'll be searching everywhere."
"Wanna take a swim?" Kelsey asked
"No way. Not with these guys out here. Until this cools down, we stay out of sea water unless necessary." Kim said
That Night
Jack's house
The boys had come over to Jack's to have dinner. Rudy was by the stove, cooking one of the few things he could cook, while the guys talked at the table.
"So, Rudy? Gonna catch the shark?" Eddie asked
"Maybe. The council put out a bounty so everyone's looking for that shark. If we come across it, we'll get it." Rudy brought over a pan and rested on a cooling deck. Jerry went for the fish immediately. Eddie noticed Jack still looked upset
"Uh, Jack you ok?"
"Yeah, not hungry."
"But it's fish. My best recipe too."
"Like I said, not hungry." Jack snapped
"I caught it this morning. Fresh from the Black Dragon."
"Black Dragon? But wait, weren't you on the Wasabi Warrior this morning?"
"No, Ty was. Joan is in the hospital so I took over for her."
"So you don't know what the Wasabi Warrior's been catching or been fishing?"
"No. why?" Jack didn't answer. The clocks were spinning in his head.
Next Morning
"Hurry up! I don't want to be the last to leave!" Ty yelled at Phil, who was muttering in Haspakistan. "We lost a lot of catch yesterday and we got to make up for it. We're headed for Angel Cove."
"But, that is Turtle Breeding Ground."
"Using the old nets to Phil. Got an opinion on that?"
"Yes, Rudy is not going to like what you are doing."
"Well on the boat, I'm boss. Now move it mister!"
None of them saw Jack hiding behind some buckets and crates. They both headed back into the deck when Phil casted off. Jack went for his boat which he hid there. Just then Kelsey and Milton came walking down.
"Jack?" Milton asked as he watched Jack climb into the boat and turn on the motor, "where are you going?"
"There using the wrong nets and going to the wrong places. Milton do me a favour and get Rudy down here ok?" without waiting for an answer, Jack started to boat and went after the Wasabi Warrior.
"Correction, get the girls and then get Rudy. I'll go after him."
"But the Wasabi Warrior will have a fishing device. It'll track you."
"Then I better make sure I stay out of ranger." With that, Kelsey dived in and headed after Jack.
On the boat, Ty yelled out to Phil and the other worker, "no one slacks off today. We're catching that shark!"
"That shark is the least of your worries." Phil said
"Anymore lip from you and you won't have a job." Phil grimaced as he threw the large net in the water. He didn't spot Jack's boat in the distance.
Ty controlled the wheel when he saw a spot in the water. It turned out to be a turtle and was reinforced when Phil came in and told him what he saw.
"Yeah so?"
"So you cannot fish here. It is illegal. Rudy will kill you when he hears."
"Not if you keep your mouth shut. Now lookie here," he said looking at the radar, "that's no turtle." Ty turned to boat in the spots direction. Kelsey didn't notice but she was landing herself in a trap. "Must the shark. Get ready, I don't want to lose it again!" Ty yelled to Phil.
Kelsey stopped swimming when she saw a turtle. It was way too close to the boat. She didn't realise that the net was coming around her. Before she knew it, her tail was tangled in the net, her body following.
With Jack, he thanks the boat's load noise for making his boat. Throwing a rope to tie his boat to the Wasabi Warriors, he pulled himself up on deck. Ty, Phil and the other worker were all facing away from him, looking at the water. He had an advantage but for how long.
Back on land, Milton rushed into the dining room where he almost crashed into Kim.
"Hey, where's Kels? And our fish?"
"She's in the water."
"Can't stay away, huh?"
"No, that's not it?"
Grace hearing the commotion, came up to them, "Milton, speak like a normal person."
"Come on!" he said, leaving the girls to pile the work on Nicole and Petra.
Back in water, Kelsey was still struggling to get out. The movement caught Phil's attention, who said, "looks like it is in."
"Get it up before it rips the net to pieces." Phil pulled a lever that started pulling the net.
Jack watched what was happening. For some reason he felt like that was no shark in there. What if it was a mermaid? If it was, he hoped the other would be here soon. With all the commotion, he wouldn't be able to attack.
'Suddenly, I'm glad Rudy made me take karate lessons. Even more so that he kept making me go.'
As Kelsey rose up, the three girls, finally got to her, thanks to their super swim. Kim noticed Jack's boat, like Milton told them and motioned to Grace. With a nod, Grace swam up and whistled. Jack turned when he heard the whistle and saw the mermaid with blue streaks.
"You."
"You had better stop them." With that, Grace froze the device that was pulling up the net and went back under.
When the men realised the net stopped they went to the device only to see Jack, leaning against the 'house' (I don't know boats. You guys know what I mean I hope)
"Jack? How'd you get here?"
"I hear you've been using Rudy's boat to catch turtles. You're also catching something else that doesn't deserve to be caught."
"Oh, and what are you going to do about it?" Ty yelled coming to attack him. Jack ducked and turned to kick the other worker who joined in. He ducked Ty's attack again.
Under the water, Kim and Julie finally got Kelsey, semi-loosened. They still had to get her tail
Back above, Jack spin kicked the other worker before he blocked Ty's punches and then the others. He kicked the worker's legs from under him before facing Ty.
"You'll wish you stayed out of this Jack Brewer-Anderson!"
"Anderson-Brewer! Get it right people." Before he could get Ty, the worker came back. Jack spun under the guys punch and kicked him in the gut. Ty tried punching him but Jack caught his arm and spin kicked him. Ty tried again to attack, but Jack grabbed his arm, punched him in the side and then threw him over his shoulder and over the edge of the boat.
Kelsey had just gotten out when Ty fell in. She grabbed his foot and attached it to the net. All four girls broke the surface and Kelsey unfroze the machine. Soon, Ty was up and coughing out the seawater in his lungs. Phil noticed the mermaids
"Jack, Jack! Look it's-" Phil never finished his sentence cause Jack knocked him out.
"Sorry Phil. Some mysteries of the sea should stay mysteries." He said to the unconscious man as he waved the girls.
When the boat arrived back at the pier, Rudy came on board. Ty had climbed back to the deck and was about to get off when Rudy blocked his way.
"So, uh, Ty? What have you been catching on my boat?"
"Uh."
By this time Phil was back awake, "I can tell you Rudy."
"Why thank you Phil. Start at the very beginning."
Later at the Sea Shell Hotel, Rudy had been invited to dinner before Kim and Jack's performance.
"I had to fire him. If it wasn't for Jack I would of never known." Rudy said patting Jack on the shoulder.
"Thanks Rudy. Well, Kim ready?"
"Yeah." The two got up and went on stage, the others behind them.
"Hey everyone, we are Surf Warriors. So I heard that over by Angel Cove, some more turtle eggs were laid. Please everyone, remember to report any harmful things happening to turtles. Please enjoy!"
